Van Jones believes govenment is the solution to our problems. It CAUSES our problems. It caused the Great Depression the of the 1930s, it caused the 2008 implosion and caused more business and workers to move overseas than I have ever seen!
"Government is the source of all economic recessions, depressions and monopolies." - LOL You must be a joker from the "alternative" Wizard of Oz universe -

@vrj40 VAN JONES = AN ANTI-CAPITALIST. His solution is to eat the rich. Eating the Rich doesn't create wealth. I expect that more and more capitalists will leave America just like I will if the government doesn't get out of the economy's way.
Remember TOO BIG TO FAIL. What the government should've done was let all the banks fail. They should not have bailed out the banks, they should not have bailed out GM and they should not have bailed out anyone. Let the economy reinvent itself!
@jillannc No he doesn't Government is the source of all economic recessions, depressions and monopolies. They have put more people out of work, put more people into poverty, split up families, destroyed the American Economy! And most importantly destroyed a great nation!
@TrunksXV Actually I think there are no existing scientific laws regulating macro economics because no lasting economic behavior has existed constantly to be observed. It's all educated guesses, man. There is no way to really know if the government spending money would hurt the economy - it's an assumption Government is good for the economy, I think.
@JMSPerry I would beg to differ. Anyone who has owned or operated a business will tell you, if the government forces their business to do something different, through regulation, using tax payer dollars against them, it basically creates more problems for them to hire, operate, etc.
The Government caused the first Great Depression of the 1930s and it has caused the current recession.
How is government good for the economy? Give me some examples.
@TrunksXV By the government spending money, the economy will be supported similarly to individuals spending. I read somewhere that a major bank is just holding like 2 trillion dollars in investment money instead of using it. American businesses should serve American well being, like tax loop holes and shipping too many jobs overseas is not in the interest of America. Maybe the government should regulate that.
@JMSPerry Have you thought about why banks and business are holding onto their money instead of spending it? They don't want to take the risk. Spending money involves risk, right now they hate the regulations that the government is passing, and they will not expand, hire or do anything to help the people who don't have jobs. Maybe forever, until the government gets out of the way.
Government has no solutions. It is a parasite, like cancer on our economy. GOVERNMENT = CANCER
@TrunksXV The way you said they will not do anything to help people who don't have jobs because of regulations makes me think they should be regulated more. Just because they are wealthy and their participation is needed to move the economy doesn't mean they should make the rules. The very wealthy controlling the government at the expense of the government is offensive to me. I mean taxes. I don't know what other regulations you are referring to.
@JMSPerry One thing: Obama's Health Care Law. It mandates that everyone buy health insurance, weather they need it or not. Businesses don't like that, because it would put them out of business.
Businesses do not want to contribute to a welfare state. Which is what Obama's health care law is. Mandated funded welfare, poverty and dependance. This means more poor people, more bad behavior and entitlement mentaility. TOO BIG TO FAIL!
@TrunksXV People might want to not pay premiums because they think they are likely not to become sick but they are still someone at risk of becoming sick and it would be inhumane not to give them medical attention once they are sick. I don't know Obama's Health care law. Not all individuals would be able to buy health insurance because not everyone makes enough money. I hope more people get full time work as an option in the future then maybe more people would willingly buy health insurance.
@JMSPerry Also Go Read Atlas Shrugged. Its what happens when the government regulates the hell out of the economy. But the business leaders fight back by destroying their inventions/patents, closing their doors, pulling their money out of the banks and stock market and leaving their business drift without board members presidents or CEOs. We have a lot of companies, but no leaders to helm them. The Rich Go On Strike, which is what's starting to happen now.
@TrunksXV You do know that A Shrugged is a work of fiction? A story abt individualism, her thesis is that only thinking for yourself (and not basing your decisions on any one else's thinking) is how things should be. Govnt she puts down as being "collective thinking". In her thesis, a dictator, who was very good at controlling the people, would be great. BTW, she hated religion and was totally against Christianity. & she really thought a particular real serial killer Hickman "the perfect man"
@rockheadedmama Of course it is. I also understand Ayn Rand's positions and why should took those positions in the first place. However given our current circumstances and "compromise" we've bought ourselves just more time. She put a face on the problem in a way no one else has.
Until the financial bleeding stops, there is no way this country will ever be great again.
Van Jones has no understanding of the role of financiers. Without financiers there would be no ipods, ipads, iphones, even automobiles. Henry Ford could never have created his assembly line without Wall Street investors and companies who invested in his organization. The more money he had from investors, the more money he could pay his workers and invest in his business, and make it possible for the average person to own a car. Wall Street isn't the problem, Government is.
We the People are the government. If the government is a problem you are saying that Americans are the problem.
Henry Ford understood that successful businesses are created when there is demand. Without demand NO business can survive.That is why Mr. Ford paid his workers 5.00 day, more than most in those days and it was not received well amongst the wealthy. He said that he wanted his employees to be able to afford the very cars that they were producing. This would assure demand!
@jillannc Well I suppose so, because business aren't expanding. Unemployment went up 9.2% Whose fault is that? Are business obligated to spend money on new employees? Can the government force the private sector to expand?
Is the government responsible for providing cradle to grave service? Too big to fail? Is failure an option in life?
If the American people vote for more government control over their thoughts and lives, than yes they are stupid. Remember Germany did the same thing.
This is a democracy. It means that every 4 yrs we vote Go ahead, have corporations lead you Ever try to complain to a corporate CEO? They don't have to listen. At least with a democracy, if you don't like what is going on you can throw the bums out every 4 yrs. Not so in the corporate world. They'd LOVE to take us back 100 years!! Hell, they are doing it and laughing all the way to their swiss banks Wanna live in a country that is void of any government? Go live in Somolia!
@jillannc Not so. Even a CEO has to listen to the board of directors. If they decide to remove the CEO, the board can do so via a vote process. The CEOs also have to listen to the people who invest in their companies. Meaning stockholders. If a companies stock goes down, especially if it happens to be a company like Disney, its serious.
As far as debating what the proper role of government is....I want a separation between economics and state. Just like Church and State.
@TrunksXV I do not like the idea of living in a country "Of, By and for the People on Wall Street". Yes, a lot is wrong. It's been going that way for 30 yrs and i think it will get better. When the middle class wakes up and speaks up again. It has in the past and it will again. The sparation of church and state was intended to keep the politics OUT. It's not working..... They preach at the pulpit more than just religion. I think if they want to preach about politics fine. Just tax em'.
@jillannc Taxes are what we pay for if we want to live in a civil society. I like my parks, fire dept. and i my clean water, and my air breathable. I don't want to go to my county park to be called "Bank of America" park and not be part owner in it same as the other people visiting the park that day. Used to be, you had to have a medallion on your home in order for the fireman to stop and put out a fire! I don't want to go back to that! I think we need a balance in gov't and Corps!
@jillannc Of course. But according to Van Jones Philosophy, capitalism is wrong. Capitalism is evil.
Capitalism = Freedom.
Socialism = Enslavement
If the rich are evil? Why should the rich exist? Why should they? They are a source of your frustration. Instead your coveting what they have. Once you start wanting what is rightfully someone else's, you quit being a group. Which is what's happening to the country right now.
Hmm.When i listen to him speak,what I deduct is the country is leaning towards an oligarchy."A form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few." The laws have been skewed in the last 30 yrs to favor monopolist behavior.If the "rules of the game" which it is, a game, have been changed to have the wealthiest few people control the rest of US i say it is morally wrong.
@jillannc Guess what Monopolies are created by government. If we had a really free market, without government intervention, most monopolies would not exist. The free market would eliminate monopolies, if left alone.
Your right about the rules changing however, The government has changed the rules. Government is the source of all monopolies. Take a look at Clear Channel! They own all the radio stations, only due to the 1997 Communications Act! Check your premise.
@TrunksXV I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree.I've been around for nearly 6 decades.I have experienced much.I'm sure you have too.Our government was formed by some middle class americans for a better life for ALL americans.This was based on a form of government by the Iroquois Indians in the mid 1700's. google:The Iroquois and the US government
I need to tend to my responsiblities now.It's been VERY nice mixing it up with someone on the otherside who's respectful of others.
Sorry seeing this as funny when my kids were little and we're fighting, calling
names and angry I'd listen realize a house divided cannot stand. Mommy goes in finds out the truth,calmed down and talked about it. Sometimes we fixed it and at times time healed it. Come on people we're in one family!

You guys are funny! You get so angry and hostile to one another, call
names...you sound like children at school! :) For a Democracy in action you all seem very sad and frustrated. What are we afraid of anyway? Used to be afraid of the ememy across our boaders...now we're afraid of one another...WOW! Fear is powerful!

This was one of the most inspiring and hopeful things I've experience since "candidate" Obama's speeches pre-election.
The only ideology here is that America is and should always be great and more importantly, its people across the board should prosper as one. You can't disagree with that and be a patriot.
Politics is so depressing and the problems in our country seem intractable. But this is a movement that I know and feel is just and fair and I am excited to take part and rebuild the dream!
The amount of misinformation & flawed conclusions (not to mention hostility) contained in a large number of these comments is astounding. There is a difference between fact and opinion and there is little of the former and plenty of the latter here. Agree, or disagree, but do so because you actually researched the issues and have the facts to support your claims. Name calling is a poor stand-in for truth.
Piss off Marxist miscreant. Did you fall asleep during math class? Corporation will always make record profits so long as the population continues to grow and we are living longer. The consumer doesn't have to be fleeced for companies to make record profits. All that needs to be done is to thwart new innovations and competition through your type of Marxist/socialist government regulations that kill entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and industriousness.
@karinmoveon Wikipedia: In an interview with The Washington Post on November 11, 2003, Soros said that removing President George W. Bush from office was the "central focus of my life" and "a matter of life and death." He said he would sacrifice his entire fortune to defeat President Bush, "if someone guaranteed it."Soros gave $3 million to the Center for American Progress, $2.5 million to MoveOn.org, and $20 million to America Coming Together.
Media Research Center (MRC) is just another Koch Industries supported Astroturf organization promoting a right wing libertarian agenda. But I thank them for posting Van Jones' entire speech.
@griffinia I'm not sure about that but who am I to question a know-it-all, progressive YouTube reciter. Oh, and BTW, MoveOn and Van Jones being paid by economy-busting hedge funder George Soros is okay by you.
And then *you* called _me_ a spoiled child! Now *THERE'S* your insult! Seriously, WTF, dude??? Because that's what spoiled children do? Accidentally insult someone w/o realizing it, and then the second they do, apologize for it and take it back? Really, man? That doesn't sound like a "spoiled child!"
However, what YOU are doing, putting your fingers in your ears and asking me to shut up simply because we apparently don't agree, (someh
And what YOU did was take that apology, only kinda, half-way read it, misconstrue what I really said, demonize me for no reason at all (to make me seem like the bad guy...for some reason???), and make some ignorant insult not knowing any better. Seriously, man, I didn't personally insult anyone...not like *YOU* just have! I simply said that a SHOCKING number of people were simply ignorant of the facts, which is NOT an insult...it
No, dude, I did NOT insult you or ANUBODY else! Unless you are either unable or unwilling to read, of course! Lol! If you can, tho, (and I'm guessing you can) you would already know that I already told you HOURS AGO that it was not, in fact, my intent to insult anyone, that I was unaware of any insulting tones at the time I wrote it (but that I was now), that I said you were right for pointing that much out, that I apologized for it, took it back, and explained what I really mea
Please, all I ask is that you guys watch this video with an open mind before you judge the man in it. If you can still honestly bash this man after you listen to his talk here, then...just...wow. You must be unAmerican, unpatriotic, dumb, ignorant, or deceived, because those are the _only_ people who could hear his talk and NOT give this man a standing ovation! Seriously.
Please, just listen to him...please! After all, our COUNTRY is at stake! Everything you love most! I guarantee that once you see the entire talk/video, even the most conservative among you (as long as they're honest and not otherwise corrupt) would give this man a standing ovation! Seriously.
@macgeek2004 Oh, now it's please. The arrogance and nerve of people like you, Jones, and Obama. Didn't you just call us Teabaggers, now you want us to do what you want.
We've heard enough of the minstrel show. Go get one of his green jobs.
Please, give this man a chance to defend himself before you attack him (based on the lies Fox has given you). This is a brilliant man, and his talk is actually talored to those who A.) know nothing of politics or economics, or B.) those who've been purposely deceived by right-wing media. He's not even trying to deliver a partisan message here. This is for everybody, and rises above the level of Party. Just...listen to him. I guarantee that once you see it all, even the most cons
What truely sucks, tho, is that most of the people that are against it either don't know or care that they're against it or are only pretending to be on our team.
Now, all of that said: if there are any TEA party members ("TEAbaggers"), Republicans, conservatives, and even Libertarians seeing this, *ESPECIALLY* if you believe Fox News is actually legit, please, watch all of this with an open mind, and don't comment until you've done so.
Finally! I can post again! (My Internet's been screw-y the past few hours trying to access YouTube.) Anyway, continuing where I left off before:
I should've waited a few minutes to get over the shock of it before I posted that message. I truly apologize. I only meant that post as a statement of surprise at the current state of affairs, and pleas to listen and for action. After all, in this case, there aren't more than two sides to this. You're either for America, or against it
whoops ~(better proof read next time! is should have said: ECO-LIAR$ TO THE RIGHT! (of him) Another day of this freak<<< frothing at the mouth. Figuring out how to scam and con and grift off the wallets of every one he can scam and con with his lies and far left lunacy. The reason he lost his Obama "fake job". Is the wacky words of about splintered wind ~ mills worth anything without GOVERNMENT TAX MONEY INVOLVED! ....his "change" is too costly. He lies all the way through this mono-lie lunacy
I guess I didn't re-read my complete post before I sent it, because reading it now, it definitely wasn't the tone nor exact message I wanted to convey. It really _does_ sound a little insulting, yet I didn't mean it to be. I was simply so *shocked* that so many people were so...completely oblivious to or distracted from the real issues affecting this country and the true facts behind them, that I was completely taken aback when I posted. I should've waited a few minutes to get o
3.). However, what you should've done is not say "WTF asked you?!", but instead just criticize me on my somewhat insulting tone. (Which is what I think you meant to do, anyway. Lol) Tho I would argue that I didn't insult anyone (outright), and I certianly didn't mean to and that *definately* wasn't my intent, I _completely_ agree with you!
2.) "OMG, Did anyone ask for YOUR opinion?" No, because that's not how this system works. There is a comments section here for discussing the video that _anyone_ is welcome and, in fact, encouraged to post in. _No one's_ comments are solicited, you just post and discuss. If the uploader didn't want people commenting on the video, *he would've disabled the comments.* So please, try to argue that way, because it's not right, it undermines the entire purpose of this forum in the fi
1.) I'm sorry, this is a re-upload of the debut rally of Van Jones' "Rebuilding the Dream" roadshow, uploaded by a user named "MediaResearchCntr." How the fuck is this YOUR video, exactly?! In fact, you seem to only be in a narrow majority on this one, (60% dislike rating), and considering that this is a recording of a *Van Jones rally*, how could you possibly claim this was *YOUR* video?
we were robbed lets be clear and ask franks and those guys Freddy and fanny failed the bank followed .We shouldn't penalize bonuses cash is flying out side the country look at this guy and his ilk
I can only stomach Van Jones for so long. He begins to talk and I instantly get reminded of why I can't stand that radical, left-wing, socialistic, communist punk! Van Jones is the perfect example of why America is going down the toilet. Liberals are the problem, not the solution.
@davisadministration ~~> What accomplishments have the conservitive republican right had to offer in the last decade or two?? I mean since the liberal left is the problem what was the soultion and why didn't it work since the reps had the whitehouse (which had a surplus when they stepped thru the door) for the last 8??
Seriously, it's honestly sad and pathetic that this video has a 60% dislike rating! And it's especially pathetic just how ignorant the morons who commented below me are!
Honestly, it really goes to show the power of Fox News and Republican propaganda and unbridled stupidity and ignorance. GOD, I wish the American public were more informed! This (and your) ignorance is pathetic! A lot of problems in this country would be solved if only people weren't purposely ignorant!
Seriously, give him an honest listen, because he is *very* smart, *very* well-educated and qualified, and only COMPLETELY right, and you have been deceived by the corporate powers that be (which, sadly, includes Fox and Fox News). This man is trying to "undeceive" you!!!
OMG, you guys, you are the EXACT stereotype of ignorant, "Fox News"-believing, MORONS that Van Jones was making fun of! Seriously, did you guys watch the video...AT ALL??? Because his talk was geared *precisely* to those poor ignorant or deceived Fox "News" viewers, such as yourselves, precisely to dispel all the untrue lies that that organization has put into their poor heads.
Seriously, give him an honest listen, because he is *very* smart, *very* well-educated and qualified, and COMPLETELY
@macgeek2004 OMG --- Did someone ask you for your opinion? Do we go trolling in on your videos? No, because we really don't care what you think and we're not so full of ourselves that we believe if we insult you enough, you'll come around to our side.
The bad performance is only matched in audacity by the vicious, obvious, easily demonstrable lies. The government is great unless it spends less money under a Republican? The Koch brothers took your money? America's companies pay less in taxes because they are vile traitors and not because an economic downturn and governemtn takeover/regulation racket kills the revenue of most of them? TY MRC for documenting. The world needs to know what's up with these freaks.
Congratulations to Van Jones on November 17, 2911 on CNN what a great job representing Rebuild The Dream and speaking out about the Occupy Wall Street, I can't say how proud I am of You Mr. Jones, great job. @rockheadedmama Look at what compromise got us:
14-25 Trillion in Debt. What is your solution to paying that debt off?
We are now rebuilding china with our jobs, our money and our labor.
We're also giving money to OPEC, and other nations which hate our guts. We're not respected anymore.
If Compromise involves giving up your money, your liberty and your respect and your countries future, well good luck.
Compromise? How is 25 Trillion a compromise?

Government has no solutions. It is a parasite, like cancer on our economy. GOVERNMENT = CANCER
TrunksXV 7 months ago
@TrunksXV The way you said they will not do anything to help people who don't have jobs because of regulations makes me think they should be regulated more. Just because they are wealthy and their participation is needed to move the economy doesn't mean they should make the rules. The very wealthy controlling the government at the expense of the government is offensive to me. I mean taxes. I don't know what other regulations you are referring to.
JMSPerry 7 months ago
@JMSPerry One thing: Obama's Health Care Law. It mandates that everyone buy health insurance, weather they need it or not. Businesses don't like that, because it would put them out of business.
Businesses do not want to contribute to a welfare state. Which is what Obama's health care law is. Mandated funded welfare, poverty and dependance. This means more poor people, more bad behavior and entitlement mentaility. TOO BIG TO FAIL!
TrunksXV 7 months ago
@TrunksXV People might want to not pay premiums because they think they are likely not to become sick but they are still someone at risk of becoming sick and it would be inhumane not to give them medical attention once they are sick. I don't know Obama's Health care law. Not all individuals would be able to buy health insurance because not everyone makes enough money. I hope more people get full time work as an option in the future then maybe more people would willingly buy health insurance.
JMSPerry 7 months ago
@JMSPerry Also Go Read Atlas Shrugged. Its what happens when the government regulates the hell out of the economy. But the business leaders fight back by destroying their inventions/patents, closing their doors, pulling their money out of the banks and stock market and leaving their business drift without board members presidents or CEOs. We have a lot of companies, but no leaders to helm them. The Rich Go On Strike, which is what's starting to happen now.
TrunksXV 7 months ago
@TrunksXV You do know that A Shrugged is a work of fiction? A story abt individualism, her thesis is that only thinking for yourself (and not basing your decisions on any one else's thinking) is how things should be. Govnt she puts down as being "collective thinking". In her thesis, a dictator, who was very good at controlling the people, would be great. BTW, she hated religion and was totally against Christianity. & she really thought a particular real serial killer Hickman "the perfect man"
rockheadedmama 7 months ago
@rockheadedmama Of course it is. I also understand Ayn Rand's positions and why should took those positions in the first place. However given our current circumstances and "compromise" we've bought ourselves just more time. She put a face on the problem in a way no one else has.
Until the financial bleeding stops, there is no way this country will ever be great again.
Compromise = the new four letter word.

Government = Problem
TrunksXV 8 months ago
@TrunksXV
This would assure demand!
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc Well I suppose so, because business aren't expanding. Unemployment went up 9.2% Whose fault is that? Are business obligated to spend money on new employees? Can the government force the private sector to expand?
Is the government responsible for providing cradle to grave service? Too big to fail? Is failure an option in life?
If the American people vote for more government control over their thoughts and lives, than yes they are stupid. Remember Germany did the same thing.
TrunksXV 8 months ago
@TrunksXV Wrong.
Go live in Somolia!
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc Not so. Even a CEO has to listen to the board of directors. If they decide to remove the CEO, the board can do so via a vote process. The CEOs also have to listen to the people who invest in their companies. Meaning stockholders. If a companies stock goes down, especially if it happens to be a company like Disney, its serious.
As far as debating what the proper role of government is....I want a separation between economics and state. Just like Church and State.
TrunksXV 8 months ago
@TrunksXV I do not like the idea of living in a country "Of, By and for the People on Wall Street". Yes, a lot is wrong. It's been going that way for 30 yrs and i think it will get better. When the middle class wakes up and speaks up again. It has in the past and it will again. The sparation of church and state was intended to keep the politics OUT. It's not working..... They preach at the pulpit more than just religion. I think if they want to preach about politics fine. Just tax em'.
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc Taxes are what we pay for if we want to live in a civil society. I like my parks, fire dept. and i my clean water, and my air breathable. I don't want to go to my county park to be called "Bank of America" park and not be part owner in it same as the other people visiting the park that day. Used to be, you had to have a medallion on your home in order for the fireman to stop and put out a fire! I don't want to go back to that! I think we need a balance in gov't and Corps!
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc Of course. But according to Van Jones Philosophy, capitalism is wrong. Capitalism is evil.
Capitalism = Freedom.
Socialism = Enslavement
If the rich are evil? Why should the rich exist? Why should they? They are a source of your frustration. Instead your coveting what they have. Once you start wanting what is rightfully someone else's, you quit being a group. Which is what's happening to the country right now.
TrunksXV 8 months ago
@TrunksXV
Hmm.When i listen to him speak,what I deduct is the country is leaning towards an oligarchy."A form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few." The laws have been skewed in the last 30 yrs to favor monopolist behavior.If the "rules of the game" which it is, a game, have been changed to have the wealthiest few people control the rest of US i say it is morally wrong.
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc I do not choose to live in a Charles Dickens era. "Please Mr. Scrooge, may i PLEASE have another lump of coal?"
jillannc 8 months ago
@jillannc Guess what Monopolies are created by government. If we had a really free market, without government intervention, most monopolies would not exist. The free market would eliminate monopolies, if left alone.
Your right about the rules changing however, The government has changed the rules. Government is the source of all monopolies. Take a look at Clear Channel! They own all the radio stations, only due to the 1997 Communications Act! Check your premise.
TrunksXV 8 months ago
@TrunksXV I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree.I've been around for nearly 6 decades.I have experienced much.I'm sure you have too.Our government was formed by some middle class americans for a better life for ALL americans.This was based on a form of government by the Iroquois Indians in the mid 1700's. google:The Iroquois and the US government
I need to tend to my responsiblities now.It's been VERY nice mixing it up with someone on the otherside who's respectful of others.
