  • Fuckin Great!

  • These shows were so tight. my first show! thanks for posting. keep posting cause im still listening!

  • tommytentiming...Instead of laughing @people who think Weir is singing "Where's the dark star." Why not be cool and educate them? Weir is singing "Where's the Dog star?" The Dog Star is the brightest star in the night sky and was used as a navigation tool for Sailors. Also the Dog Star is known as Sirius.

  • i barely remember it well...rainy cool night at the spectrum...where is the car again? hahaha

  • @tigercattt Or with no Brent.. Or Phil.. The 91-95 Shows Were good But Welnick and Hornsby Were never Good Hammond B3 Organ Players Like BRent, Even There Singing. ( Brent couldnt Be Replaced. so they put welnick behind garcia not next to him.

  • Common dude, 1986?

  • @Imspacedbro I Dont understand The Question.\

  • thank you so much........ just what I needed right now..... Wolf Sings....

  • freedom to pee

  • lol @ people who think Bobby is singing "where is the dark star"

  • No Lost sailor in 94 or 95. 86 was last one besides Bobby post Garcia. If you need reference Check out deadbase.com. Cheers to all! Miss the old tunes but Furthur is tearing it up!!!!!!! Keep the Light Shinin'

  • @brigcutter wrong. got my dead base

  • what does this mean by "last one ever?". The last show of 1994 before christmas they played this after a stagger lee opener?

  • @pupils777 wrong. it was saint not sailor.

  • estimated is one aswell

  • It was just an AMAZING NIGHT! I will NEVER Forget IT as long as I live. HA! been Way to long at sea.. BOBBY!

  • heard bobby cover it with ratdog he does that song justice

  • I recall this ons as it was a day before my birthday and in my home town while I was on tour. Sailor is such a great sont, too bad they stuck with saint only

  • Pretty sure they ply this in chicago second to last show

  • Live by the ocean this make like home

  • rock star Bobby!!!

  • It's my bd today, and all i can say is it ain't what it used to be.......

June 14. Just imagine all the Berkeley Greek Theater BD shows i once had.

    Now i ain't even in the good ole U.S. of A. ......

    I'd rather be @ a (Dog/Furthur/or) concert !

oh yeay I'm a lost sailor

there's a price for being free

  • oakland colleseium

  • Always a soft spot for lost sailor. One of the first dead songs I really listend to. One of my 1st tapes had lost sailor. Oakland col. '80. Anyone have that show? They played a killer shakedown, and LLR on that too.

  • just played Sailor/Saint last night in AC. Awesome show. good times

  • Great show! I was at all three at the Spectrum in '86, and it wasn't till years later, when it became clear that Lost Sailor/Saint would never be performed together again, that this combo became even more poignant in my memory. Thanks for posting...Adamo

  • bob's best was heaven help the fool.

  • Don't forget Looks Like Rain!!!

  • I don't understand why they dropped this tune. Weir dropped a lot of tunes, also Lazy Lightning, Weather report, BT wind for awhile.

  • Makes me glad and sad at the same time. Glad to have been able to see the Dead at their peak and so sad to see Jerry and Brent gone... This is one of my alltime favorite tunes.

  • oh how i miss those f*ing daze...........

  • Like I told you, what I said...

  • This was the Last "Salor" ever played by the Grateful Dead??? Im going to have to check Deadbase on that one..LOL. Great shows!! thanks for posting!

  • definition of music: J. Garcia, P. Lesh, B. Weir, M. Hart, B Kruetzman, B. Midland (pig's stand-in)

  • i was there- i think

  • thats the right way to say it buddy!!!! I feel like people who can recall all the shows they were at ....well? I have been to many myself "IT ALL ROLL'S INTO ONE"

  • bobby is fvcking amazing. agreed- lost sailor, saint of circumstance, lazy lightning > supplication, are a few of bobby's very very best. thanks bob :)

  • eh... you're forgetting about a few =p

    jack straw

    promised land

    estimated prophet

    MAMU/BR

  • Oh yeah.. you can't forget Jack Straw and Estimated. :)

  • @kylelightner I only saw the last 2 summer tours before Jerry died. Ive only heard Lazy Lightnin on bootlegs but I did get to hear the very first live Unbroken Chain.

    Such a band beyond description

  • "Lost Sailor,"is arguablly the most important song for Bobby that he owns writing credits!Ibelieve that Sailor>SAint&other BOBtuneslike>'lazy-lightnin'&goodlovin'let Bobby show off his grate passionATE VOICEIfeel these 4songs brought that ol'screamin'fool that we loved 4EVER!Although,He'll forever be known as co-founder/influential member of gratefuldead.WEIR always was his own mAN!

BOBBYs'dylanisms' &Chimeenti's smoothness make Dog da best tiX!

    &daLOT'RULz!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 86 alpine valley was my first show and they did this......where's the moon?

  • really do know the price for being free.

  • Freaking incredible with Jerry in the background. Brett backin up Bobby on vocals... This is their peak from my perspective... can't get into all the early 70's stuff they play on Serius..

  • same, i like the 80's and 90's stuff. once Brent joined the band the music became better. after brent died and vince joined the music was good but vince never sang.

i wish bruce became a full member, he had class

  • I agree and I cant over emphasize how good the band was during the brent days especially in 1990 before he died they were on a roll and it seemed as if something really gnarly was going to evolve out of the music and it was going to break a barrior which now is far out of reach and probably impossible, but they were getting so comfortable with each other it was like a fine tuned Lexus then take it to the performance shop and some nitrous and supercharger and open up the air intake and booom,

  • sweet

  • Vince did sing. "Way to go home" and "It's all too much" and quite frankly, it was!

  • Insane!! 9 days before my first show, I couldn't get enough of them at this point in my life. 22 years later it still sounds good.

  • with age comes better cheese

  • Worst part is that I had to type it in 224 times before it would take it. It's an obsession but it's pleasin'

    Nobody for President!

  • There's something funny going on here.

  • Funny thing about this. At the time I can remember myself and other heads laughing about this & how cheesy it was, but as with all of the finer things, with time, it has more meaning, and I guess the mold has turned it to some REALLY GOOD cheese.

  • I always loved it and related.... One of my favorite. Sad thing is i still relate... In fact, it's quite to the point for me right now. thx Eth. n thx DH225 for sending. I guess i really do know the price for being free. No attachments whatsoever. Talking about adrifting. No place in this world i can be; lemme out. C what belgium's turned me into...

  • dude! thanks for gettin up off this. fucking sweet! 3.25.86 was my first tape and i fell in love with this run of shows. period. my favorite all time. philly shows were the best. you da man! ow!
