when i was a kid watching this every sat. idol was one of my fav now. now im afraid he would be no more than a mid carder sad really. tons of charisma and the look also could work with anyone from dundee to hogan.
Austin Idol, another superstar graham fan and wanna be. its almost blasphemy to credit him with the phrase"the womens pet,the men's regret"....get serious!
@allennicholson Far from it. Calhoun was a very good and compitent referee that helped make the matches seem all the more legitimate.
Some of the worst refs are Earl Hebner (who got incredibly lazy in the mid-90s) and Frank Morrell (Foley has a few "nice" things to say about him in his first book.)
Looks like Hulk Hogan wasn't the only one who did the Superman comeback. In fact, I would suggest that Hulk owes a lot to both Lawler and Idol, as far as his personality and interview skill.
Now I see where Vince McMahon got 80% of the Hell In The Cell idea from.

I'm pretty sure Billy Graham coined the phrase "women's pet and the men's regret".
Austin Idol used to talk about how "Idol Mania" was sweeping the nation well before Hogan Hogan used the term Hulkamania.
Hogan also borrowed from The Super Star who originally spoke of his 24 inch human pythons.
Graham is the most emulated wrestler of all time and i believe he may have coined the term "often imitated, but never duplicated".
