just installed it and yeh it cleans up a lot more than windows "systemclean"

after running windows systemclean ccleaner found and removed even 4.8 MB!

It can also remove any program from you pc, that can`t be uninstalled the normal way,you can also search for a program that you wanna remove.

Just as WinPatrol plus ccleaner is great.

p.s just download the "slim version" and you don`t get any toolbar at all.

When you install the program disable your antivirus, so it can do the full update with the new features. If you dont you will just get the regular version. If Internet Explorer asks to go onto the internet, allow it. That is for the updates.

CCleaner does more. It also cleans the registry errors, it's also like control panel in that it lets you uninstall programs, and it's like msconfig in that it lets you enable and disable programs that open when you start windows.

CCleaner is a GREAT program that i bet is much better than any McAfee application. It can do many more things with the newest version (2.25.1025) like uninstall programs, check registry errors, and chose what starts on your computer when you boot! (for advanced users)

I always save the registry backup in a folder called CCleaner. When you need to restore the backup just find the one that you want to restore and double click on the file. It will add the items back to the registry.

By default the last 3 boxes of the System section and the all of the Advanced section are unchecked. I've never had a problem checking everything. Although, I would never check everything unless I was troubleshooting a problem that involves one the items that is unchecked. The CCleaner defaults are perfectly fine. Most Windows experts say not to delete the Prefetch.
