@SarangButterflies because a spear involves picking someone up and dropping them on thier head or neck which could potentially paralyse you (Good example:Brian O' Driscoll getting speared by Tana Umaga and Keven Mealamu) and a dump can seriously injure you (Good Example:Brad Thorn dumping John Smit) both examples can be found on youtube just type in their names and the offence almost as bad is raking which involves running your studs against the other players skin cutting it
