The US military technology along with US and South Korean fighting spirit and commitment would eventually overwhelm and consume the North Koreans in weeks. That fear is why the cease fire has lasted for over 50 years. Remember, there's no winner's in war, just a large amount of dead people and destruction. Oil was down to like $80 a barrel a week or so ago (not sure what it is at the moment), yet gas prices remain the same, $3.60+ per gallon, which is what they were a few years ago when oil was $130 a barrel. OPEC even says demand for oil is down. Yet, prices are still high? Lol. I agree, also... To win a war, one must have the support of the people.
@MMDDYY1000 A good example of that was Vietnam. Far more VC and NVA were killed than US troops, 90% of battles faught were US victories. But, Vietnam faught very smart, which is why they ended up with a victory, more or less. That, and the majority of US population was against it. The US military technology along with US and South Korean fighting spirit and commitment would eventually overwhelm and consume the North Koreans in weeks. That fear is why the cease fire has lasted for over 50 years. Remember, there's no winner's in war, just a large amount of dead people and destruction. @Funjackerjones I already served 6 years of active duty and 2 years reserve duty in the U.S. Marine Corps., 2nd Battalion 5th Marines. Was deployed 3 times to Iraq and Afghanistan, and a 4th Humanitarian deployment in S.E. Asia. Personally, I agree that the war is stupid. But, any soldier or former soldier will tell you the same thing... We do what our superiors tell us to do, because we're soldiers. As far as having a life goes... I make a decent living. $63k a year, married, 4 kids. :)

Someone said "But China is like #2! Oil was down to like $80 a barrel a week or so ago (not sure what it is at the moment), yet gas prices remain the same, $3.60+ per gallon, which is what they were a few years ago when oil was $130 a barrel. OPEC even says demand for oil is down. Yet, prices are still high? Lol. I agree, also... To win a war, one must have the support of the people.

@MMDDYY1000 A good example of that was Vietnam. Far more VC and NVA were killed than US troops, 90% of battles faught were US victories. But, Vietnam faught very smart, which is why they ended up with a victory, more or less. That, and the majority of US population was against it. As far as the US and friends goes, that's just another side affect of having a huge ego. The US is making the same critical mistakes the Romans made before they fell. History repeats itself...
