@0xXCSSXx0 Massive is a plug-in. You can use it in standalone but to hear sound you have to use it in a DAW or sequencer. Or, I think if you have a midi keyboard you can use that to hear sounds from massive as well.
funny that you asked, i did this and succeeded, but you have to use an application to rewire reason and then use massive as a vst plugin.. i used adobe audition
I think we are finally getting to the stage where analogue synths no longer rule the roost. The software is far more advanced, reliable and flexible. Can't wait to see what the future technology holds as its getting very promising indeed.
reason's rewire is balls, it may sound good but just try organising two seperate projects on two seperate DAWs together, it's worse than the problem of going back to old projects to find the VST's have changed version.
Sure you can bounce everything down, but then you're stuck with it
oh and you can make professional sounding tracks on any of them, you just need skill, don't threat about the gear just find the package you like best and stick with it, for me that's ableton live
i have a casio keyboard (CTK-496) with midi in / out sockets...can i use this with massive and adjust the software macro controller knobs via mouse (since this keyboard doesn't have the controller knobs for assignment and external control). i'm looking for a way to get by without a proper midi controller keyboard like oxygen 8.
do you have to have a midi keyboard controller(like an oxygen 8) with massive or can you use it without it? i just bought a good notebook configured for music and a presonus firebox soundcard, so funds are real low right now. so i'm wondering if i bought just the NI massive software could i begin using it without a keyboard controller for the time being. then in a month or two i'll pick up an oxygen 8.
Google Search "Control Massive" and see what the suggestions are that pop up before you hit enter.

how do i play it? i have a keyboard do i need anything else?
domk95 1 year ago
with cubase you would rewire reason into cubase, making cubase your main DAW and using Reason as a plug in, just google for it.

@KungPowCheekin Or you can just use the keys on your keyboard in the standalone app... (then save the preset and use it in the plug in version)

use ableton to rewire reason in it
but Reason is pretty good by itself alone.
Just Reason isn't that easy to come up with a good sound :P
JotaSk8Bdr 3 years ago
@JotaSk8Bdr can you use cubase to rewire into reson?
cortezforever 2 years ago
reason is a closed stuido, may need to rewire
businessmd20032003 3 years ago 2
no you cannot, because reason does not support VST programms and any plug-ins at all..
