I honestly have to say I LOVE this film, it's the perfect blend of 80s kitsch, sly Bondian humor and some pretty goddamn cool special effects for the time. The music is the only really anemic part of the film, there are moments of brilliance in the score, but it's just weak otherwise.

What makes it worse is that in Thunderball (the film that Never Say Never Again remade) her equivalent character was Fiona Volpe (played Luciana Paluzzi) who is probably the sexiest and memorable woman to appear in any Bond movie.

Paluzzi being so good makes Carrera look even worse.

You know, I've heard and read a lot of critique about Moore, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan (yuck), and Craig.

I've NEVER heard or read anything bad about Connery's Bond.

@cuttock To be honest, Craig is the next best thing since Connery, and I mean an actually good Bond. He stays quite true to the character that Fleming imagined if not as great as Connery. People just didn't think Craig would be a good Bond so they say bad things about him, and some still do. It's unfair if you ask me.

@Rekteha Craig is one of the best Bonds ever, hope they resolve the financial issues at MGM enough to actually come out with a new Bond movie in 2012. Casino Royale was outstanding if a little too long and gave the series the reboot that it desperately needed; Quantum of Solace was decent but put together too scattershot and with weaker characters and script
