SuperQueenofAfrica thank you for sharing your message to me. I am a descendant of slavery but no one could take my homeland's feelings, message and music from my spirit. I Love Fela in a real spiritual way. His sons have taken up the banner of Fela. I saw Femi and hope to see Seun in April. Love for my people all over the world who were taken by force. We still are here and never forget what our ancestors endured to keep us alive and remembering our land.
Thank You. This song and many others I listen to help me understand the feelings I have been having for a while now. Fela, Femi and Suen Anikulapo-Kuti along with their bands and dancers are an inspiration to my very spirit. God help all of earthling man now. We are in a global mess. Music by certain artist along with meditation helps me get through each day. Again THANK YOU.
@Anikulapo173 fela he was always there , i always took him for granted because he was always there , but when you see fela thru the eyes of those who didnt grow up taking him for granted you appreciate him in a new light.. the music and the messages are always going to be relevant. the best thing is to listen to the original recordings and see his raw performances cos no musical can ever hope to duplicate the real thing.
This is fela best tune..never release it till 1991 in NY..i played the guitar on the recording...baba always play this tune THAT IS THE LAST TIME HE PLAY THE SONG...NEVER PLAYED AGAIN...when shrine is full....The Wendy hour have this video on fela 1991 tour...
