  • Instantly loses credibility when Sara-the 'reporter' appears with a stethoscope slung around her neck!!!!! Hokey, stupid.

  • @oldflamingo,

I agree, and that applies to all the claims this video makes as well.

  • @ViciousSeed "Organically grown foods consistently had about one-third as many residues as conventionally grown foods""Conventionally grown and IPM/NDR samples were also far more likely to contain multiple pesticide residues than were organically grown samples." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15344365

Most studies also suggests organic is healthier.

Unless you're also willing to state that Monsanto also owns this or any other research that refutes your arguments. Organic food is just a marketing term nowadays. And if by most studies you mean those studies that agree with your argument, then by all means yes that would be most studies.

  • @ViciousSeed CCF was created by Berman & Co., owned by lobbyist Rick Berman. Berman & Co. represents the tobacco industry as well as hotels, beer distributors, taverns, and restaurant chains. CCF actively opposes smoking bans and lowering the legal blood-alcohol level, while targeting studies on the dangers of meat & dairy, processed food, fatty foods, soda pop, pharmaceuticals, animal testing, overfishing and pesticides. This is a financially biased source and it was an article not a study.

  • @ViciousSeed On May 21. in the comments of the skeptoid organic video on youtube "inFact: Organic Food Myths ", I issued a challenge. The video claims more studies suggest organic is not more nutritous/healthier. I posted my search results and 13 peer reviewed review studies suggested organic IS more nutritious, compared to only 3 peer reviewed review studies which suggested organic is not more nutritious. Can you find 14 peer reviewed review studies to back this videos claim of more studies?

  • @ViciousSeed 52% of organic farmers use no pesticides whatsoever and the rest generally use significantly less pesticides than most conventional farmers. Here is what the USDA says "organic produce carries significantly fewer pesticide residues than conventional produce." nal.usda.gov/afsic/pubs/faq/BuyOrganicFoodsC.shtml

  • @ViciousSeed Center for Global Food Issues is funded by Monsanto, so they are clearly biased. Here is what independant studies say "It can be concluded that organic farming potentially reduces the risk of E.coli infection." fao.org/docrep/meeting/X4983e.htm#c2

"E.coli prevalence in certified organic produce was 4.3% a level not statistically different from that in conventional samples." ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15151224

  • This whole video's argument is under the assumption that organic food does not use pesticides. The real truth is that organic food does use pesticides, less efficient, and more prone to bacteria. "A study by the Center for Global Food Issues found that although organic foods make up about 1 percent of America's diet, they also account for about 8 percent of confirmed E. coli cases." If you're eating organic do it because you like it but not because it is healthier.

  • @ViciousSeed This.

  • @Quiet1 International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition study review of animals fed organic vs conventional diets. Weight gain was greater in organically fed rats, mortality was lower at 9 weeks and the incidence of degenerative diseases was lower. Lower mortality in organically fed rabbits. 2nd and 3rd generation rabbits from organically fed parents exhibited higher birth rates and more viable embryos. Infectious illnesses were less frequent in second generation organically fed animals.

  • @Quiet1 actually, the pest and crop problems we have today are mainly attributed to monoculture and the industrial farming revolution. When you have a monoculture farm you are creating the perfect environment for plagues of insects, diseases etc. The proof is all there and if your eyes were open enough to see it, you would laugh at yourself for how ignorant you are. To even entertain the idea for a second that organic foods are not superior to conventional foods is completely absurd

  • I am having serious reservations about this video. Organic foods are magically preventing cancer, ear infections and ADHD? This sounds like some far reaching based on studies that have found correlations. I'm not saying that it's good to be eating pesticides but I'm not sure everything they're saying is true. What I'm advocating is reading the original research before passing judgement based on happy little infomericals like these... which is what I'm going to go do right now.

  • @sofiarune Good question. Organic is fresher & not magically better, they have a higher nutritional value because you will be able to determine the actual age of the fruit/vegetable. Organic food spoils faster because its not doped up with pesticides and so old that the majority of nutrition has diminished. Older the produce, the less nutrition it will have. Which is why I bought and use a vacum sealer to make it last longer. You should try it for a month I did & got huge difference

  • @sofiarune I don't advocate organic for anyother reason other than from my own personal experience. I was diagnosed with 'Pre-Diabeties'. So I said to hell with junk food, I am going to eat right, I am exercising. Increased vegetables and fruits to where it is 65% of my food intake each day. It did NOT help at all, a slight increase in health, but that was it. So I tried organic, and after 2 months (also cut our sugar and artificial sweetners) my health increased alot. So no medication for me.

  • @xinecallaw why the heck didn't you just cut down on eating sugar when you first started eating more veggies, and exercising??? Organic fruits and veggies can not cure/help maintain diabetes..the main factor is that you cut down even more on your sugar when you started eating organic..your correlation is so mixed up..if what you're sayin..then wouldn't all people who don't eat organic food have some kind of health problem or mutation???

  • @sofiarune "Children exposed to high levels of organophosphate pesticides are at risk for bone and brain cancer, neuroblastoma and childhood leukemia" msnbc.msn"dot"com/id/3076638/ns/health-your_environment/t/new-reasons-eating-organic/ "Kids with higher-than-average levels of one pesticide marker were nearly twice as likely to be diagnosed with ADHD as children who showed no traces of the poison." msnbc.msn"dot"com/id/37156010/ns/health-kids_and_parenting/t/pesticides-kids-linked-adhd/

  • I'm pretty sure that's why you're supposed to wash the food before you eat it.

  • @warning221 Actually all that does is attempt to remove the chemicals on the outer skin of the fruit or vegetable. Non-organics end up with plant roots in the soil that is constantly bombarded with these chemicals, so the plants end up absorbing it with the later, thus making the inside contaminated.

  • Many foods now have been genetically engineered to produce their own pesticides. Scary stuff

  • @torofighter it has also been shown that these genes can actually go on to exist in your body making your body a pesticide factory

  • If more people would buy at least some organic foods, the price would plummet. BUY ORGANIC

  • @torofighter

How do you suppose we feed our growing population in say, 20 years? Organic food yields less crop per acreage. Also farmers have to use more fertilizer around 7x more. Organic food is crime against humanity in light of the millions of people starving. In the future it will be impossible to feed the world with organic food, there just isn't enough land to do so.

  • @ViciousSeed "Organic farming can yield up to three times as much food as conventional farming on the same amount of land.""in developed countries, yields were almost equal on organic and conventional farms. In developing countries, food production could double or triple using organic methods"" sciencedaily"dot"com/releases/2007/07/070711134523.htm

  • @ViciousSeed "Today's scientific evidence demonstrates that agroecological methods outperform the use of chemical fertilizers in boosting food production where the hungry live- especially in unfavorable environments.""To date agroecological projects have shown an average crop yield increase of 80% in 57 developing countries, with an average increase of 116% for all African projects." srfood.org/index.php/en/component/content/article/1174-report-agroecology-and-the-right-to-food

  • @ViciousSeed Please provide peer reviewed studies suggesting organic farming uses 7x more fertilizer than conventional. The huge majority of studies suggest organic uses less fertilizer. I want peer reviewed studies not articles or skeptoid videos from lobbyists and comedians. Also, I want studies that organic uses more land than say GM crops, which require huge amounts of land for refuges and buffer zones so organic uses much less land than GM.

  • @torofighter In the past there was growing concern for population growth with just cause. People demonstrated their frustrations by protesting; it was the equivalent of global warming nowadays. However, science rid us of this dilemma. Science also rid us of polio and other diseases that are now categorized as preventable. Scientist are not out to get you instead they are solving problems that humanity has or might possibly have in the future.

  • I agree But still there is no reason to put the price up either ,then only ppl that can afford get to eat organic what a crok of shiit...

  • Weston Price FTW!

EVERYONE should eat organic, we once did around 100 years ago.. The 21st century conventional foods are dangerous and don't complain about price, cuz u cant put a price on health.
