  • If you could recommend a good alternative to StormDrum, what would you suggest?

  • Very nice indeed. Well done.

  • Thats some nice work, impressed me. Where did you get the dynamic fade? Or is this just possible in colaborationn with a midi keyboard/keystation?

  • I loved how you built up the tension...taking away instruments and adding again...lovely!I downloaded the song and its on my iPhone now:)

  • You music sounds great! I like it a lot. I am a teacher at a german High School and we started with some kids a new internet TV for our school homepage. Would you allow us to use your music in one of our clips? It would be a great honor for us!

  • Sounds great but this type of composition has been done to death

  • Just love games music xD

  • Sick.

  • I just bought the $1.00 'extended' version of the song to find it wasn't extended at all. :(

  • It sounds a bit like the scientist - coldplay :P

    but well done!

  • Yeah! Use that Warhammer sample! Love it! Don't worry, I won't tell :P

    good work though!

  • Is there anyone who could tell me how to get to the composition screen? I just got this software, and I can only get to the main menu.

  • hi: i am a beginer in cubase 5. and just not pro.its just my hoby. plsr can u give me some good vsti links? pls specialy solo electric guiter vsti s except real guiter.i hhave that. i request and give me also some tips to do good music without a keyboard. coz i dont have it. i am giving u a link where i made a music .. the sorcers apprentice music.. pls listen and comment IN THE NEXT RESPONSE .sound quality bad but yet not too bad. pls coment and give links to vsti. PLS

  • @mrbudhaditya1 /watch?v=bQ4BIZaEEYI write youtube.com before the link

  • @mrbudhaditya1 If you really want someone to give you a good response/help you....you really need to type in decent english.

  • amazing!!!! but needs mixing, little peaky lol

  • Very generic progression as indicated by the comments below.

More than resembles John Murphy Surface of the Sun...it's almost note for note.

Work on creating orginal chord structures. Well put together though.

  • resembles John Murphy - Surface Of The Sun (Sunshine OST)

  • yet again, the i-VI-III-VII prog. No wonder they started calling it the "epic progression".

  • Orgrimmar! For the Horde! ;) Nice work, man.

  • Sound like some LOTR soundtrack.. i. love your track...

  • can i ask why you manually did the crescendo in the trombones at the beginning instead of using the trombone crescendo sample in east west?

The piece is pretty cool man : )

  • @jonbourne100 The trombone crescendo samples in east west are exactly what they are- samples. They won't be fitted to a certain amount of time of crescendo. No matter what the tempo is, they won't automatically be adjusted. That's why DXF is so badass. You can manually control all of that.

  • the sound is ok

  • 1:56 \m/

  • nice man...im doing a little piece my self... =D i plan to conduct it at my schools band

  • Nice piece. Are you a professional composer?

  • sounds like narnia ^^ good work dude ^^

  • Reminds me of Fallout for some reason

  • It should be great if you showed us how did u EQ all this

  • Nice song gg,

    Super belle music bravo

    zayed from France

  • it pretty good apart from the lack of emotion from the non-percussive elements, you have the programs to make some great music but all i see missing is the dynamics and dryness of some of the sounds, also i find the piece to get rather repetative at some points but other than that bravo

  • Amazing man, i'm just starting now learning cubase. If i can write something like this someday i'll be happy, for now i'm struggling laying down a drum pattern eheh

  • very nice track! james horner influenced?? is there a lot of automation on the notes or is this quite a flat copy??

    either way fantastic job!

  • beautiful man

  • I have a lot to share with you, I'd love this music. I make music too, I hope you tell me your msn, cya dude.

  • Hi M4YOU, I would like to ask - I compose orchestral music using Cakewalk but it is only MIDI. I also work only in trad. musical notation (on stave). Do you know how I can make it sound so realistically like your music played here? Can I incorporate the musical notes from Cakewalk into this software? (WHat is the name anyway?) Thanks!

  • @HOE68YEN you can use EWQL(orchestral sections) in sonar as a plug-in =]

  • What drums did you use in Stormdrums at 1:56? It fills a lot of space and I'm having trouble finding good drums that can do that.

  • @IntersectionStudios I used Thunderemsemble in the large percussion section.

  • nice sounding piece, but here's the thing - trombones and woodwinds need to breathe from time to time... just a hint

  • very very nice :) i would try to add a "crying" violin in the start...play with it a little bit and see how it goes...well, not at the very begining but at 0:52 some vibrato violin would make it more dramatic. at 1:17 it's apsolutly beautifull!!! very good!! and i love the start-the drum beat.

  • very very nice :) i would try to add a "crying" violin in the start...play with it a little bit and see how it goes...

  • Sounds like the ''Ableton orchestral promotional track''

  • ow..thanks...nice piece btw.. :)

  • hye...how do you make those brass sounds in the intro? 0:20

    what instrument(s) did u use?

  • hye...how do you make the sound for the intro (the brass)? what instrument(s) did u use?

  • @kusdo262 It's a trombones section with dynamic xfade using the modwheel. The other brass you hear are 6 french horns.

  • damn this shit sucks-JUST KIDDING THIS SHIT ROCKS you are a pro my friend, go work for 20th century fox

  • wow, next Hans Zimmer?

  • this is the most epic song i've ever heard... i just soiled myself

  • hey i like your song....check mine out!!! in your video response....and dont bother the video title it just for catching people.

  • Hey, you've got some REALLY nice orchestrations here. My only suggestion for improvement is your use of chords, you have that "4-chord" progression - have you considered using tonic substitution? For example, replacing your chord I with a chord IV or vi(they both have the tonic note) Another idea, you could using more adventurous cadences, such as neapolitan 6ths, or interrupted. Sudden modulations could work really well here too, such as when the theme returns, move it up or down 3 semitones.

  • Hi!

This had some really cool tunes in it!! Wow! You should have some choirs at the end, that would be awesome.

Im new to Cubase(5) and im wondering, how do you "connect" the East West Symphony to Cubase? How does the plugin work? Im not quite handy with the tecnical stuf...

    Thanks!

  • this is the part in the movie where shits about to go down and they send in tanks and planes lol

  • Comment removed

  • That's awesome!

I really like this, and I want to see the final version.

    It's simply beauty.

    =)

  • It's very well done matey, especially from 2:00.

Have you ever had any kind of lessons, school, or just self-taught?

  • @Aellius88 I went to Musitechnic last year but I had to leave to course to due to my mom's illness. I didn't learn much there... So I would say I'm self-taught.

  • @M4Y0U I'm sorry to hear about your mother, wish her best of the best, and thanks for your reply! Keep it up!

  • Man.. It's Terrible!

I like it so much!! If you want to compose some symphonic metal song, and want somedoy to record guitars and bass... I'd be OK :]

  • @Kurty3105 I can also do that, if you need guitar, bass track, drum tracks done on a track just ask me... I play all 3 instruments but I record my drum with BFD2 and my midikeyboard and edit since I don't have a good enough drum room with enough mics.

  • @M4Y0U The question was, if you need someone to record, i can.

But you said you play all instruments XD

    So its nothing.

    (Good Choice for BFD2 ;) )

So I tell you, keep composing it's totally ENORMOUS

  • /watch?v=bQ4BIZaEEYI write utue.com befour the link

  • Insanely awesome stuff. You're gifted and you should be doing this professionally, (if you already aren't).

I should try Cubase too, I now use Reason.

  • very nice!

  • Wow I must have this plugin

  • Мне это по нраву... =))

  • wow really good work, sounds like somthing you would hear in lord of the rings or somthing

  • I would rebuild 1:17 - 1:57 - That oboe (??) sounds like ... lemme think. I got it! Like EW sample that is played too long. When a real player blows such a long sounds s/he loses power in loungs, and it affects sound - it goes lower and gets sth you can make using random tremolo (but more than delicate 'intensity' parameter). The Rest of the Stuff Rocks!!

  • I'm keen on Conan soundrack too... LOL

  • Great work! I hear a little Armageddon in there ;-)

  • Awsome man =) Only thought is to throw some reverb in in the slower spots. fast section at 2:12 doesn't need it, would just muddy things up.

  • Sheers Folk!

    *****

    Nice song

I placed a videoreaction of my orchestra composition.

    Could ya accept that reaction?

    *****

    Thanks dude!

    *****

  • yo man pleas tell me where did you get the vst pleas.nice composition 5*

  • East West Samples

  • This is nothing short of amazing. Just amazing.

  • That being said it sounds short and unfinished, you should really complete it (if you haven't already). IMO I would expand some of the parts.

  • Your music is very good.

Your info on tech specs has also been most helpful as I'm shopping for a new computer that'll be best for a future purchase of eastwest product and host.

    thx for sharing.

  • watch?v=nyds18SGKA8 put this at the end of the link MenaceBeatz vs A-Beatz beat battle!!

  • Can I use it?:-)

  • Yeah... Credit Jean-Sebastien B. Miousse aka M4Y0U

  • nice track, but i like using fl studio more thoe. its less complicated

  • Reason isnt bad either..but Cubase is pretty tight...since it can record audio.and reason cant

  • great

  • This is a a good track!

  • Really nice job.

  • YOU are my MASTER...

is it difficult to create tracks with cubase?? I just downloaded a demo of it but it seems to be kind of hard in handling... -.-

  • Easier than Pro Tools (for MIDI at least). Harder than Reason. After a month using it you it's pretty fast, the key is to learn all the shortkeys. Thanks.

  • Man, I really dislike Pro Tools! Cubase is good times, though you might want to consider using Nuendo. It's the big brother of Cubase made by Steinberg.

  • Yeah I'm considering it since I do movie music and Nuendo is more suited for movies but I dunno you gotta take in account that Cubase 5 came out!

  • Dude, you know what... I was doing some research and I think Cubase 5 is good enough. Nuendo is double the price! Get Cubase! I use both and they're essentially the same thing.

  • strugglin with zomming in and out i see, lol other than that, awesome.

  • lol yeah I was starting to use Cubase 4 back then. I'm an ex Reason 4 user hehe. Buying Cubase 5 soon.

  • terminator

  • hey, nice work... ive got mine in the mail, just wondered how your CPU is at the most layered points? also i presume you stored the sound libraries on an external hard drive, USB or firewire? keep it up dude

  • Actually not bad...I was expecting much worst...the computer and the software will cost you a fortune though xD

  • thanks...any gliches while playing?

  • When i have more than 30 tracks. This song pushed my computer to the limit. Even if at the end i was working with all the other tracks frozen in .wav the samples being unloaded from the RAM. So 30 stereo tracks is like having 60 mono tracks and it's too much for my computer. This is why I'm buying a new one soon and will buy the EWQL Composer Collection with the new play engine and be sure i will have 16gb of RAM =P

  • forgot to say - very cool...

  • BTW, what are your computer specs?

  • 3Ghz double core, 2gb of RAM (not enough at all), 300 and 250gb HD, M-Audio Fasttrack Pro audio/midi interface, YAMAHA KX8 88 keys hammer action midi keyboard and a small 25 keys on top of it.

  • Great piece

  • Epic sounding. Enjoyed it very much. Nicely done.

  • Wonderful !!!!

  • Amazing !!!!

  • Amazing !!!!

  • WONDERFUL!!!!

  • Innovative excellent Congratulations

  • You're wonderful excellent composer

  • This is very cool !

Is it free ? If it is, i'll maybe use it for a film we are making with friends :)

  • Yes it's free... I'd like to get credits tho. I can do something free for you guys and make the whole soundtrack for your movie if you send it to me i will work it and send it back to you with music. I can do sound FX but won't do both music and sound FX for free tho since it's time too much time consuming for me. Just send me a private message and we will work something out. Send me a message anyway if u wanna use this ill send u a good sounding format.

    Best regards,

    M4

  • Hi there!! wonderful job.. I was wondring if your sound bank from EWQL is easy to use onyour Cubase? made you midi then record,, or you load up all sounds? tha´nks!!

  • All EWQL, very easy to use, more easy now with the new Play Engine from the new collection i can't wait to get. I load up sounds then records. You need plenty of RAM tho so i had to freeze some track so it unload the samples then do another part with new samples loaded.

    Thanks

  • thank you :)

  • sounds like something for lord of rings or the new hobbit film, brilliiant.

  • Amazing Composition

  • nice theme!

  • Orgrimmar?

  • Stormwind lite version :D:D:D

  • Can you show me how to setup EWQL in Cubase 4? Thanks so much!

  • Yes can you please make a tutorial on how to set up the sound in the eqwl symphony orch softsynth?

  • Strange Break in the middle, very nice drum work!

  • i like this u should put more heavy brass 2 it

  • hi dude this can be used in Ven Helsing Next movie......i really like this music composition.......it has tunes which touches the heart of people.keep it up...once again it looks like a Hollywood Soundtracks.

  • Do you know if there's some problem using a 5400 rpm hard disk? it's important to use a 7200 rpm disk?? =D thank you!

  • It is not recommeded to use a laptop ( 5400 rpm hd ) to work with samples. It's ok for recording tho. If you load every samples on the RAM without using your hardrive it's ok tho, its jus gonna be a bit longer. I sugest a 7200 rpm harddrive for optimal performance and the option to use the harddrive with the ram for some samples if you run out of ram.

  • mmm... i have a laptop mate, a custom macbook pro with 2.5 ghz intel core 2 duo, 4 gb ram and a 7200 rpm (originally it comes with 5400 harddrive but i modify that when i bought it =D the only shit is that it burns after 3 hours of use.. hahahaha) 200gb harddrive... do you think it's ok??? i can't understand what you mean with loading the samples in the RAM!?!?!? :O without using the hd? explain me a little more please :D Thank you very much for the tips buddy and sorry by my english!

  • MacBook Pro tends to turn really hot when making the cpu work hard. Remove the casing under the battery ( only when the case is brning hot so it can cool down and then u replace it ) while using the cpu really hard ( music production , video pro etc ) and try moving the laptop each 30 mins to a cooler spot on the table so it can radiate the thermal energy back to a cooler place rather than the already really hot table. Try using in a cool room with a fan blowing air on the laptop.

  • Yes, they strongly suggest you use 7200 rpm or higher.

  • Hey mate, im going to buy the EWQL symphonic orchestra PLATINUM, can you tell me if there's so much difference between the gold and this other one? what about the articulations? the quality of the expression?

  • The biggest advantage is the 3 different mic position and if your are currently runing the Gold version without the Play engine then the Play engine must be the biggest advantage since you load all articulations and you unload the one you dont need and it supports 64bits processors so you can use plenty of RAM and good processing power. Platinum is far more deeper than Gold but not a must if youre not that serious about composing.

  • Thanks mate! then im going to buy the platinum, of course!!! do you know what's the difference between the platinum plus and the platinum standard? the only difference is the bits! do you know what that means? because it is like 50 GB of difference!

    Platinum

    Complete Plus

    24- and 16-bit samples

    194GB

    Platinum

    Complete Standard

    24-bit samples

    117GB

    Thank you mate!!!

  • Bit Depth refers to the number of bits you have to capture audio. as a series of levels, that audio energy can be sliced at any given moment. With 16 bit audio, there are 65,536 possible levels. With every bit of greater resolution, the number of levels double. By the time we get to 24 bit, we actually have 16,777,216 levels. Why would you want 16 bit samples too? Versatility for your production needs. Remember best quality is obtained when all your gear is on the same bit depth and sample rate.

  • It sound like the Transformers theme, but I love it, great job!

  • Really nice work!

  • How many ram do u have? which are your system specs?

  • I have 2 GB DDR3, Pentium D ual core CPU at 3.00GHz, 500 GB HardDrive which is full of samples. I Mostly use a Yamaha KX8 as a midi controller and a Novation Remote LE for percusions. Note that i couldnt load that much track in the RAM so i used the freeze track option. Most of the time i load 5 tracks then i compose everything then freeze and do/load 5 more tracks. Now i gotta buy a 64bits CPU with at least 8 GB of RAM for the new PLAY engine.

  • Nice! a friend of mine told me that between kompakt and play there are no several improvements at all, they just created their own sampler because they don't wanted to pay more royalties to Native Instruments for using kompakt as sampler, by the way the kompakt version sounds perfect so they just made that play version for a better "good looking" in their VST instruments... after all the samples are the same ;) so if you use 8gb ram you can work perfect using freeze and all that stuff? thanx :)

  • Yeah well my point in start to use the Play Engine with a 64 bits CPU is that Play Engine has been made to support 64bits processors. So you make the best use of plenty of RAM and no more need to freeze tracks. Plus with the Play engine you can unload articulations or samples you dont need to free up RAM easily. So the dream of loading all your instruments and compose the whole song has finally come true.

  • great sound!

  • really great soundtrack ^^

youtube is really bad'ss in compression, but u can play your video in a bit higher quality by adding "&fmt=18" after the link adress of your video.

I also work with Cubase 4 studio, hope u'll check my channel ^^

  • Thank you for this! :)

  • I have cubase studio 4..... and also EWQL PLAY Goliath.... and I can´t record stuff in it.... how did you do that? can you please tell me?

  • could you be more accurate with your question. I can't help you if i don't know at what part of the troubleshooting things stop to work.

  • I can´t set de EWQL PLAY Goliath as a pluggin in cubase.... and I think that´s why I can´t use it to record in cubase... do I have to install the pluggin in some certain way?... or just coping the file?.. I tried to open first cubase and then the goliath... but I just saw that it needs to be set as a pluggin.... hope you can answer me

  • When you install Goliath they ask you to choses a folder to install the VST pluggin. When it is installed your cubase gotta know where to look for such VST so in Cubase you can set your directories by going into the Plugins Information tab ( in the main tab way after File,Project,Edit etc ). From there you can set where cubase is gonna look for the VST plugin and then click update. now create an instrument track and you should see Goliath when chosin the input for your track. Hope that helps.

  • Devices/Plugins Information - that is

  • sounds amazing dude - home made soundtracks are awesome

  • It's nice! Maybe you should add some bass strings to fill the whole thing up a bit!

  • I have 9 double bass plus a low freq sub synth bass to shake things even more... that being said i guess we cant rely on youtube's compression of audio and video.

  • Sad that the youtube compression sucks so much :-(

Is there any downloadlink we can hear it in high quality?

  • hey thats great, check out my tracks i made with ewql plug ins

  • i can picture this being the opening credits for a movie
