I'm from Argentina and I visited Lebanon in February, this year. I was deeply touched. My grandmother was born there, in Raas Baalbeck. I could get to that town, and found family. Beirut is amazing. The food is fantastic, the people is nice. I'm proud that my granmother is from there.

@SkanderbegSS if we take it back to the beginning of the Beirut's reconstruction and redevelopment, SOLIDERE was a public-private billion dollar ownership owned by the hariri family (and obviously obviously a lot of shares were saudi).. hariri was the man borrowing more and more and more and having countries "donate" to us, but it was all increasing our debt, and having a country recover from such a huge war with huge sums of money, we were in big trouble.. it was hariri's fault, but oh well.

@SkanderbegSS all of Lebanon was reconstructered yes but Beirut's central district was literally hariri owned!? certain municipalities and expatriates and political parties helped to rebuild towns and villages seperately, but hariri dominated Beiruts heart and tried reviving it in desperate ways, he built too much debt and everyone knows that.. the EDL is loosing money rather than gaining, but thank God with Bassil's brilliant plan we'll hopefully have 24 hr power soon.. face the facts mon ami

I believe Beirut and the northern part of lebanon are quite safe for westerners. I loved being there, and I'd love going back to Lebanon some time. My girl won't let me go, though :( She thinks it's too dangerous. Can't convince her.
