  • Record stores were a LOT LOT LOT more fun before those fucking cd's took over the music business!

  • Haha you forgot to adjust the tracking bro!

  • I miss Sam goody, there used to be near the county where I live, and it was handy to have for ordering music and movies. It recently went into oblivion as well. Damn it!

  • This was recorded on the first VCRs or maybe even BetaMax... The first ones used to be these big, heavy machines with top-loading tape decks and knobs for UHF and VHF.

  • Sam Goody was originally in the NYC area but by the late 1970's expanded to other cities after a merger with Musicland/Pickwick Music.

  • Gotta love those VCRs!

  • Groovy!

  • Wow, pretty loud music. But still these commercials do sure bring back memories.

  • Sam Goody has now merged into F.Y.E.!

  • What's FYE?

  • @BoogsterSU2 FYE is owned by Trans World Music and has taken over the Sam Goody/Musicland/Media Play/On Cue/Suncoast/Record Town/Saturday Matinee/Tape World/Camelot Music/Spec's Music/Coconuts music chains.

  • I have a copy of the tape this came from- don't know why the color goes weird in the middle. Wish someone had a better copy of this commercial!

  • WOW, and I have all these other than the Parliment (which I dont much and never have cared for them). Awsome post!
