I really liked this book. And I'm glad Jenna was all for letting us have the Barnheart group on Facebook. Some people wouldn't have been so cool about it.
As far as having "values" outside the corporate mainstream, I'm not exactly sure what she means. She's a savvy businesswoman for sure. She sure knows how to compose her blog in such a way as to sell as many books as possible. The handcrank radio giveaway was clever if crassly commercial. A nice logo too - the bold black antlers against the white background. A lot of thought was put into it. I wonder how long it'll be before we see that logo being slapped onto all sorts of homesteading products?
I love how down to earth Jenna is. She has written a book that speaks to the simple mind and that's me! She is so honest in facing her mistakes and that is important to one would homestead and have a fear of just messing things up. (continued below)
Most people would have left out, for instance, what happened to her angora rabbit or the queen bee in her first hive. These instances speak to us out there who need to hear that every thing is NOT going to go as planned. Everything is not going to turn out perfect. I enjoyed the book so much and look foward to checking out more on the blogspot that I just discovered. ***** to Jenna!
Hi Jenna, I just read your article "Life On The Homestead" in Mother Earth News and decided to look up your blog -- which led me to this video. You are doing a great service and I look forward to getting a copy of your book.

Bless you, Jenna. Yes, just begin. A garden and chickens are a good place for most people.
