Very nice technique Scott, but.... showing at the beginning a way how to pull down very heavy, it's not necessary. This leads to cheating especially with young guys. Just show the excercise and the weight everybody is choosing on his own. Important is the TECHNIC you show and this was perfect. Also I have to add, the more you incline your body back, the more you tocuh the muscles "more down" on your big lats.
If you are doing pulldowns then it is because you cannot do pull ups or chins with added weight. Once you are doing pulldowns with as much or more than Body weight then it is time to graduate to the chinning bar.
@Samdabikinman Not true at all, pull-downs are much more isolated with a lot more grip options while body weight pull-ups demand stability and include more muscled of the body. It's all subjective depending on your goal. Keep it up Scott!
stand up, put your legs under the thing, and pull yourself down. NOBODY jumps like thatt, looks completely stupid, and is sure to damage your back someday
Everyone hatin' on Scott for this exercise saying its not beneficial is an idiot, Lat pulldowns have expanded my back greatly and I do this trick as well to save energy I could be putting towards killin my back. Keep the vids comin Scott!
@billybilly2008 before starting to exercise...go online and research how to get toned...trust me..the more u kno abt fitness..the quicker ull c results..people were astonished at how quickly i became muscular... knowledge is key..
If I saw you doing that I would make sure you lost your trainers job. That was the worst idea I have ever seen. Heres something to try... stop doing fucking pulldowns and do pull ups with weight.
That jerking seems like it could hurt someone. Also, if it really weighed more than you, why would it come down? I guess the acceleration builds up momentum force?
"The SHF community doesnt need your negativity. Get off my channel" Dude, you shouldn`t respond to negative comments...you might end up making yourself seem un-proessional. Just a tip. :-)
Haha - seems like a pretty standard Bicep Pulldown. That first part seems dangerous actually ... Although he does look good , that helps when giving advice lol
ok. i think we should make things clear here.. The vids is a trick on "how will u do d reverse lat pulldown with heavier weight" , and not "reverse lat pulldown" ..
neways.. this is another good trick.. i'm going to try this!! thnx scotty!! I think i'm already an SHF fan. hehe..
@ScottHermanFitness why not just extend the arms and jam the knees under the whateveritscalled as much as you can and then pull down using your... hamstrings I guess. That's how I do it, it doesn't attract as much attention as your way, so try it lol
wel u aint got a clue then , yes of course personal trainers should be in great shape , practice wat u preach , and scott obviously is and i am sure he has plenty of qualifations, but just because someone looks good dnt mean the no shit( i know plenty of these people), just because u can get urself in shape dosent mean u can others, anyways back to the point all i was saying is that this "trick"isnt somethin u should be showing to begginers witch most of u are ,
That's cool... we gotta hit the movements we like and respond to best. Looks like it's workin' for ya! I just like chins b/c studies show they have greater nervous system and muscular activation... bodyweight and free weight movements almost always fire up your neural-muscular drive more than machines.
Anyway, keep pumping out the good trainin' vids... nice to see other trainers moving some decent weight!
i'm not a hater, but i really think that you usin too much weight. On this exercise you should really squeeze your back and bring your chest up high as possible.
Try slowing down your cadence - aff a 2 second hold in the fully contracted position and lower the weight at apprx. 4 second downspeed. You will not have to use as much weight and get more results without the chance of hurting your ellbows in the attempt to lift a weight that exceeds your bodyweight. - MR
Acutally this exercise works primarily the lats and does involve your biceps a lot since your using a reverse grip that is great btw to improve a longer time under load so called, providing a deeper pre-stretch into the lats, causing a higher growth stimulus. Try to pre-exhaust this exercise with pull overs and you will feel your lats stimulatet like you never felt it before - more info on my channel and website - HIT HARD! - MR
What trick? - Are you talking about the jumping around before your pull yourself down? This actually could cause a serious bicep tear in some trainees. be careful with it. Your a young kid not some of old farts like me -lol - might cause some damage...and I am not talking about the good damage that causes growth - in no way or shape should anyone train explosive or attempt to lift a weight that can not be lifted under smooth control. MR
Hehe it went real good, but my back is killing me today xD I love the feeling tho o0
Btw wanted to ask you, how many hours of sleep do you get each day? I mean I've got a bad tendency of staying up late and going up early (or rather, being forced up). My friend seems to build real nicly dispite him having similar problems, so I dunno.

I'm waiting for the hack squat video. I've been wanting to try it but it looks very intimidating.
I also don't know what the "proper etiquette" (don't know what else to call it) is for using machines where you have to load plates on.
Advice on that please Scotty-boy? :)
