  • I wnt this song played at my funeral

  • perksssss

  • Perks - just started reading it and this song is the complete soundtrack of the whole book; both sinister and beautiful.

  • I'm here because I'm a fan of The Smiths.

  • Basically everyone is here because of Perks aw :3

  • this song perfectly reflects sadness and happiness of a life, just like the book does. and both are amazing.

  • Um what else perks. I read the book and listened to this song and it's amazing, the smiths are now one of my favorite bands regardless of the fact that this is the only song I've heard from them. Well I guess I'm like Charlie in that way.

  • Perks. But I definitely relate.

Read the book with this song playing and it's like a perfect soundtrack. -3

  • Am I the only one who found Perks from this song? It's my favorite book ever anyway. This being my favorite song.

  • Perks.

  • Hahahaha I love how almost everybody here is because of Perks of Being A Wallflower. Great book, the song definitely matches the book and Charlie's personality(:

  • I'm here because of Perks of Being a Wallflower :D

  • Beautiful. Love the piano. So emotional. This song just makes me reflect on my life

  • This song is just as beautiful as the book

  • The Perks of Being A Wallflower -3 I LOVE THE SMITHS -3

  • Perks of Being A Wallflower -3

  • Perks of being a wallflower brought me here(:

  • I'm so glad I picked out the book "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". It was an amazing book!

  • I'm actually really glad everyone hear is mentioning the awesome novel that mentioned this song. I started to feel that alot of ppl were missing out on such a great book because they stopped reading for fun in the sixth grade. But after checking out this song and reading the comments, I'm glad too see many ppl have actually enjoyed it :) great seeing this with this generation

  • I'm so glad I took the initiative to look up this song after reading perks of being a wallflower. Both beautiful.

  • New favorite song

  • None of you know what chbosky meant by "infinite" so you all sound like retards.

  • I was pretty into the book, then I decided to listen to the song, and it was also ok, but then I read the comments and got pissed. Now the smiths and the book both suck.

    hipsters talkin bout ~infinite~

  • I feel infinite -3

  • @luvalwaysemma me too!

Such a beautiful song. I love The Smiths.

  • Perks of Being a Wallflower brought me here.

  • Does anyone else feel that this song is about someone not wanting to live anymore?

  • I wish everyone would quit fighting over this. The song is wonderful and the perks of being a wallflower was a wonderful novel. I can understand why they put this in the book. Everyone calm down and do what I do, close your eyes and lose yourself in the music. Or haha 'feel infinite' :)

  • Emily browning covered it better

  • I love the smiths. They're an amazing band. Morrissey was brilliant with his choice of lyrics. This is one of my favorite songs. (: and there was a book that had this song? Hmmmm.

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA whoa read back on your comment what's all this about the film not using the original song? FFS that's annoying well forget about some crappy movie :)

  • @su79nioj I subscribed because you said please :)

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA it's Kay it's just when i emotionally attach myselfself to a book and a song and then someone trolls on the connection between the two I get a bit riled up but I can see why you'd be annoyed at people not appreciating the smiths :)

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA yes, but it's also the feeling of unity between the smiths and the listener of the song, and feeling infinite for some people may not necessarily mean happy, it may mean a feeling of never ending ergo it's captured quite well in the song by the book and vice versa

  • @Banquoification You put up a good debate though, cheers for that. And sorry if I come across as a bit of a cunt, don't take it to heart or anything, just get a bit carried away with these things haha. But as long as you like The Smiths and appreciate all of their music and not just one song then that's cool with me.

  • @Banquoification It means to feel so great that it can't be measured but Morrissey wrote this song when he was feeling depressed and lonely, so how can that possibly make you feel infinite? The book really seems to change the true meaning of the song so for that reason alone I think I'll give the book a miss...also I read that in the film which was based on the novel, the version played isn't even the original and is a cover, which rips the piss a bit if you ask me.

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA btw what do you think 'infinite' means? Think long and hard before you answer :)

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA read the book and it actually can make you feel infinite if you have a combination of both the feel of the book and listen to the song, the lyrics and melody can make you feel infinite just before you start trollin again read the book and tell me If you still feel the same way, okay? Get both sides of the story before you jump into it

  • This song is so beautiful and yet so sad.

  • Let the blind amongst us hear this song and the deaf read Charlie's book, for differences aside - we are Smiths fans one and all.

  • Well I can say that no book brought me here :P it was just my love of The Smiths

  • @Banquoification I LOVE YOU!

  • @YoSoFunny1 giddy on up cowboy!!!!

  • @Banquoification yeeeh i see what you mean about not being able to take it seriously :L YEEEHAWW!;)

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA

Yo dickheadd , get off my boy banquos back yeeh ? This book is absolutely fantastic and maybe imaa get all up in yourr gril for not reading it. Same diff with what your doing. At least the smiths are getting SOME recognition cos without this book only smart asses like you would be writing your gay comment on it. Cop the fuck on k ? And btw i looked at some other smiths song and baby theres are reasons theyr underrated. Banquoification get in me you legend ?

  • @YoSoFunny1 You really proved my point that the book is getting more recognition than the band as you have just basically said you don't like The Smiths and you only really like the song because it is in the book, so yea thanks for that. Go and make and fan-made video for the book if you want it to be acknowledged so much!

  • this song is beautiful

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA well maybe the book deserves all the acknowledgement it's getting, is that such a bad thing? If they didn't like the song they wouldn't comment on it, that should be enough.

  • @Banquoification Also, how can this song make you feel 'infinite'? Are you actually paying attention to the lyrics and what it is actually about?

  • @Banquoification.....that's you....

  • @Banquoification I have nothing against the people who have read whatever book the song is in and acknowledge who the band band are and realize how good they are, but most of the people don't and are just quoting the book. From the comments that I am reading, the book is gaining more acknowledgement than the actual song, that's what annoys me. I would love for more people to find out about The Smiths, but all of their music rather than just one song. And ILLITERATE cunt? By the looks of it, tha

  • @RYAN2K8YEHA right. people find out about bands and songs different ways right? How did you find out about the smiths? Did a friend tell you about them? Does your friend act like a twat because they knew about them first? If some people read a book and are moved by it do they not have the right to express that? Or are you better than them because your an illeterate cunt?

  • Annoys me that so many people are watching this video because of some stupid book and hardly anyone have even heard of The Smiths or acknowledges how good they actually are. Morrissey and Marr are both geniuses. Morrissey is easily one of the best lyricists ever and Marr has created some of the best riffs ever made and together they have created (for me) the best band ever. They were just too underrated.

  • Dear Charlie,

I'm so glad you had an impact on so many people. I love your favorite song.

    Love always,

    A friend

  • Dear friend,

i want to thank charlie for introducing me to this amazing song that makes me feel infinite, which is weird because many other people feel the same way about this song listening to it in their bedrooms feeling infinite as well. everyone in my school should read "The perks of being a wallflower" then they might be able to grow up and love the book just as much as i do.

    love always,

    Nat

  • This song makes me feel infinite. x)

  • Thank you for changing my life charlie. You reaaly are the most beautiful wallflower :)-3

    Love always,

    Cailin.

  • Dear Friend,

I want to thank you Charlie , for opening up my eyes and making me feel infinite in so many ways. This book affected me on so many levels and coming here and seeing it affecting all these other people just makes me love you more charlie. Over the past few days it took me to read this book iv grown.. Iv made a connection so deep with this book that it pains me that charlie is a fictional character. Every song on patricks playlist brings me back to that infinite moment in sams car. T

  • Dear friend,

I love that SO many people are here because the same reason as me. Thank you so much Charlie. This is my all time favorite book.

    Love always, Mackenzie.

  • @ohmygeeitsJulia

    This is what it means:

"You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand." (pg.37)

  • Dear friend,

Reading through the comments and being so surprised at how many other people came here because of Charlie. I feel infinite, because of this song, and the book, and how many other people who I don't know who just like me are sitting in their bedrooms going through the list of songs on Patrick's mixed tape and feeling infinite too.

    Love always,

    Laura

  • Thanks, Charlie.

    Love always,

    Brooke.

  • I am here for the same reason many other people came here. I just finished reading the perks of being a wallflower, which is now one of my favorite books. I really felt the spirit of Charlie in this song. Like I could picture him listening to it with Sam and Patrick in the pick up truck. And I could see why they felt infinite.

  • Dignitas should use this for a TV advert (if they ever become legal in UK)

  • Ive always loved this song and when I read the comments I bought the book. Just wanna say thank you because now the perks of being a wallflower is one of my favourite books. Thank you ;)

  • The perks of being a wallflower-3

  • What's it mean to be a wallflower?

  • Listened to this because I am reading perks of being a wallflower. I always loved the smiths and it was wonderful to listen to this sweet sad tune again.

  • I am so glad I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This song has been my favorite since I first heard it. Thank you, Charlie.

  • Love this song...so much. It makes me feel calm when I'm going psycho.

  • I wish I could make something this achingly beautiful.

  • This song just saved my day...

  • Thanks charle:)

  • Perks of being a wallflower brought me here. But I love this song

  • Too bad Marr and Morrisey now hate each other's guts with a passion...

  • @jazlady7 Ikr? I feel like this book is so personal that it feels like the friend Charlie is writing to is you. This song is perfect for the book...melancholy :)

  • Amazing song. U know wat, perks of being a wallflower did bring me here, but that's a good thing that I got introduced to this. Love Charlie :) I feel infinite. The songs that he loved has been loved by other people in other places, don't you feel a sense of unity?

  • Its a song that makes u remember all the things that make u feel warm and comfortable on the inside. For me, it was reading the "Perks"and knowing some1 else out there feels and thinks the same way I do. It makes me wanna cry. I feel infinite. I love u, Charlie, and any1 else who this song has spoken to or has gotten something out of beautiful things that make u feel infinite. :) it doesn't matter who heard the song first, all that matters is that we all love it, and most of us love the Perks.

  • |-)

  • I love this song it puts me to sleep:)

  • I loved tthis song before perks :)) I'm so glad that the book led so many people here :')

  • @VivaJoeStalin Actually, it has a lot to do with the book. And if people want to mention how they got here because of it then why the fuck would you care? You just want to show that you didn't read the book and like the song anyways, which is fine I liked it before the book too, but that's no excuse to be all superior about it. So shut up please.

  • I wish I could listen to this beautiful song on YouTube without reading about Perks of Being a Wallflower. This song has NOTHING to do with that book. So please shut up about it.

  • I am glad. To say it wasn't the perks of being a wallflower that brought me here. It was infraction Emilie Autumns cover that did so. I fell in love with the original the first time I heard it.

  • Wallflower :P this is an amazing song. I had been meaning to listen to the smiths for a couple months now an I'm very glad I finally did... I do feel infinite.

  • Such an amazing song, I read The Perks of Being A Wallflower a couple of months ago, it really does make you feel infinite doesn't it?

  • The perks of being a wallflower and sucker punch -3

  • The smiths are amazing-3 but being in the book made them fantastic(:

  • Seriously you hadn't heard of the smiths until the book? I read the book too but I already loved the smiths I just hadn't heard this particular song but it's great

  • It's funny because Charlie talked about more than once how the songs he loved have been loved by other people in other places and that made him happy and feel a sense of unity, do you feel it?

  • @musicfanmic I was reading the book and finished today it was awesome and just in time too I go to school year round but as of today I am officially done with the 9th grade and I just made a cd with this song on it.

  • I stopped by YouTube to find this song because I am at the area of the book The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, where Charlie is describing Sam's beauty and I wanted to get the full effect of it by hearing a song by the Smiths I haven't heard. Incredible song. Back to reading...

  • I too am currently reading the perks of being a wall flower, and I am only up to christmas and charlies birthday but I LOVE the book, the 3 page poem made me cry, and I never realized but this song was covered by Emily Browning and put into the movie Sucker Punch which was a GREAT movie ! hopefully the movie of this book will be equally as good as the book!

  • I really do feel infinite.

  • Funny, I didn't realize that so many people read the book. When you're reading, sometimes you feel like the only one whose read it. The song is so melancholy, but still wonderful.:)

  • Ive known about the song before the book but Not gonna lie ever since I read the perks of being a wallflower Charlie pops in my head...great song great book!

  • Charlie!

  • not gonna lie, i feel quite infinite in this moment. thanks, charlie. and i apologize to previous smiths fans that are thinking 'wow you didn't know of this song before? idiots'
