We don't decorate seperately for new year, but as the lights on our Christmas tree have different settings, we just put them onto the 'Fast Flash' setting, it gives it that 'party' feeling!
I really love the "shimmering streamers" and want to make the but don't want to buy a whole roll of galvanized wire and then just have it sitting around the house gathering dust... do you have any other useful ideas for it?
every year we open the back door to let the old year out and open the front door to welcome the new year in :) to make a fresh start to the upoming year.
Great festive ideas, hope everyone celebrates in style. Beyond the Dec 31 party, what about starting the New Year in a meaningful way? Make a pledge to zero emission. You can download the pledge at journey-to-zero(dot) com/eriksson-join and print it on a poster or a tee-shirt. Stylish and meaningful.
Meg, I LOVE the idea about the clocks. I have a bunch of high school teenagers (my girls' friends) coming over for New Year's Eve, so I may try that -- along with some sparkling grape or apple juice in 99 cent flutes. I love 99 cent dishes! Another fabulous tip!
The clocks idea sounds interesting and fun... I'd rather use reuse materials for the garlands, which by the way look gorgeous... simple is always best!
Meg, I was wondering if you could do a how to on making my own pot rack for a small apartment. I have always wanted one but I need one that would be strong enough to hold u cast iron? I saw you have yours hanging on a ceiling divider but I don't have one of those. I was hoping to somehow hang something from the ceiling and make it under 30 dollars. Anyways if you could do that it would be great.
I love the idea of gathering all the clocks together. super cute
my friends and I have a "party" were we just walk to a store across the street get tons of junk food and little personal size bottles of sparkling cider then we play card and board games in front of a clock. When the clock hits midnight we chug our cider bottles.
Its childish and silly but we have been doing for 10 years now!! :3
I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!

The clock idea is fabulous, and the circle decor is clever and easy with a cricut and hole puncher...Great video!

I think that sounds like a fun idea! My hubby and I just simply don't like alcohol, so this would be an awesome alternative idea!

"oh ten"? hmmm I don't think anyone knows how to say 20-10! The 21st century is so confusing! haha
mle011 2 years ago
'010'... it'd be cuter as '10' wouldn't it? see you in 10.
scentoflime 2 years ago
but by saying see you in ten would that not confuse a person and have them think you were coming back in 10 minutes.

for the garlamd cant you just use paper clips?
shericasanders 2 years ago
i was thinking that too or just thread them :)
hezzamcezza1 2 years ago 3
yeah it would be cheaper and most people have paper and thread or paper clips just lying around the house
shericasanders 2 years ago
@shericasanders paper clips are much more expensive than a roll of galvanized wire considering its versatility.
shamwife 2 years ago
true but i meant the fact that u could use something lying around the house
shericasanders 2 years ago
oh or even using wrapping paper so its colorful
