Travelling the Philippines is really one of my dreams..pero wala ako budget..alang pera..actually im looking for jobs here in the philippines na nakakapaglibot sa buong pilipinas..is there any jobs na ganun ang ginagawa??
I heard Sipadan indeed was a very good dive site (it is very near the Sulu Sea), although, have you tried diving in Tubbataha Reef in Palawan? You are missing out on a lot of good dive sites in the Philippines. :) Philippines was just named as one of the top three dive sites in the world after Maldives and Palau, although the marine life is way more diverse in the Philippines. Where have you dived in the Philippines before?
@thembones12 who cares u idiot...u just really want to go to malaysia thats all!!!stop saying those of all things!!!!!!!!!!!!okayokayokay!!!..geez if u want to visit malaysua..who cares!
One big factor: Diving is too expensive for locals.
Also, do you know that the european owners(80-90% of all dive centers in the Phils.?) are also offering our underwater world under european rate? Do Philippines really benefit from it in terms of tax and proper flow of money in this business sector? It's a question that keeps on coming back on me!
yes! its true! Philippines is beatiful and well blessed country too! and rich in natural resources but the problem is...some of our countrymen did not know how to preserved and maintain the beauty of a Nature, Hopefully, if we have strict and good example of those leaders in our country maybe we can have it...a beautiful and well developed country too!" Cleanliness is next to Godliness!"
as is all tour, not only in the Philippines, heck, even in U.S. try running around the country, from state to state, on an unguided tour, see if you wont be mugged, at least in the Philippines and other asian countries, there is no discrimination, racism is still going on, I'd rather go to the Philippines or other asian country than go say in the U.S. where I can walk freely and not having to look over my shoulder now and then for fear of being mugged and discriminated and other racial slurs.
no matter how beautiful is the Philippines, the key factors in tourism are cleanliness and sanitation.
not a laughing matter, but clean toilet facilities w/ toilet paper and availability of potable water are what is lacking in the philippines when you go on unguided tour.
Sad to say but it is true. Most of my foreign friends including my wife who is a German have the same comment. The government should address this problem as soon as possible. I am planning in the future to produce an AVP, "with or without government support" to be shown in schools on proper hygiene and sanitation. It will not only teach the younger generation about the importance of cleanliness but also about saving the environment or what is still left in this country.
I think there are more and more clean toilets now compared to say 10 years ago. but of course more needs to be done. I have been to other Asian countries and I have seen worse. Even in Korea, one popular bar in a city had a pretty disgusting toilet.
I share the same sentiments. But the Development Authority is thinking of new ways for improvements especially the sewerage system. The train railways are being expanded so you may tour around Manila without the need to think of traffic and the tropic heat

PHILIPPINES is a very beautiful country... but...
It is a 3rd world country. Too many poor people. Too many unemployed. Too many people, population = 93 millions.
PI government are corrupt. Infrastructure are
crumbling. Farming is very primitive. People
has total discregard to the environment. Rivers
and stream are polluted. .... I could mentioned more.....etc..

@thembones12 even it is a 3rd world country. Philippines is very rich in natural resources, richer than United States.

amen to that...but we're working on that. give it some time, everything will be up to par.
By the way, we have some of the lowest dive rates in SE Asia, or so most visiting divers tell me :))
