  • It sounds great at any time of day but ESPECIALLY good late at night.

  • monster bill evans

  • RIP Piano Hero!!!

  • Simply GENIUS!!!!

  • i disliked even though i like

  • D ..d.. E…f…g…flip….a…g….e…c#… got it?

  • it burns into the mind; if you can't write it down…music isn't your calling.

  • fuck; I am so in heaven with this…never stop…never stop

  • Has anyone got a transcription of any of the solos in this piece?

Please quickly [!] contact me, if you do !!!

    Thanks

  • @declansAngel one word ''Transcribe!''

  • Dark intense swing. I love it.

  • This is just about the sexiest tune I've ever heard.

  • Finally a good video with 0 dislikes

  • @OnSugarHill what does it matter if it has or it doesn't have. The video is still the same

  • One of the best albums ever. Everybody plays on a higher level. Hubbard was like only 24 and real sounds perfect already. Really inventive. I wonder if people in the future (let'ssay 500 years) will listen & marvel at music like this or will everyone be too 'advanced' then?

  • jim hall easy solo yeah!

  • cant get over the guitar solo :)

  • My God this is good.

  • @ MichaelCorleone1962 Ahh, that explains it all... Of course it must have been Joe Jones on drums. How can so much talent fit into just 5 persons? Amazing!

  • Good Lord, this is magnificent.

  • Parfaite pour un lendemain de veille.

    Merci Isabelle

  • I see on my iTunes that I played it 933 times, let alone my iPod and myself playing it on the piano

  • @SBuitenhuis haha sorry to tell you this, but ipod play count and itunes play counts aren't independent of each other. They match up every time you sync your ipod. That said, that's still pretty damn impressive.

  • Jim, my man.

  • +1000000K masterpiece indeed

  • Fucking masterpiece!

  • Who was in the quintet?

  • Bill Evans - piano

    Freddie Hubbard - trumpet

    Jim Hall - guitar

    Philly Joe Jones - drums

    Percy Heath - bass

  • @heru1966 Done.

  • Hey, BET!! Where'd your channel go?!

The three videos you posted are still here, but your YT page has vanished!!

    What happened?!

  • 福岡のリバーサイド、でこれを聞いて思ったことを想いだした。ジャズはゴリゴリ吹いたり弾いたりするのではなく、こんな風に奏でるのもジャズだと思ったことを。

  • Emerson improvised on this theme (hammond B3 organ) on Blues Variation: Pictures at an Exhibition (1971).

  • I've had the LP since ca.1965, and, as far as I can recall, this is the ONLY blues he ever wrote. And, being Bill, it had to be a minor blues. :-))

  • @snaaptaker Loose Blues is also a Bill Evans' blues I think. I preffer this one better, even though they have a similar feeling.

  • @Selfnessofa You're absolutely correct. I'd completely forgotten about that one.

And, BTW, in keeping with Evans' dry sense of humor, he spelled Loose Bloose. :-))

  • @Selfnessofa OOPS!! That is, he spelled IT Loose Bloose. :-))

  • Ahh one of my very favourites. A masterpiece.... thankyou.

  • So luckey !!! this "interplay" is my favorite things, modernjazz corner of this week. thanks !!!

  • Thanks stella for this gem!

  • A pure, guenine and true delight. I love the Jim Hall's guitar (2.31 - 2.40 ; 2. 55 - 3.02), among others, of course. There are so many things to say for describing this timeless beauty. A perfect world , the morning of the world. A perpetual birth.
