In O Bannon movies .You cant kill zombies by hitting their brain.Zombies can talk and eating brains.They also can run.

Romero zombies is slow(in most movies),they cant talk,they dont eat brains and if they will bite you then you will transform into a zombie.And its not a comedy !!!

Everyone have their own opinion but if you want good zombie movie then try something different than RoLD series

I enjoyed the hell out of part 2 as well even though it was alot funnier. 99% of all zombie movies after these 2 have sucked -- there's way too much dialogue and very little zombie action in them --- and ALL of them have that BORING military look. I'll keep waiting......

Having the zombies move quickly made it scarier. An awesome film -- even Romero himself said he was impressed. They had interesting shots in this film also that added to the creepiness -- like when the paromedic turned on his lights to reveal an army of zombies just quitely standing there motionless staring back at him - creepy! And when Tina walked out of the cemetery to get Freddie and she paused for a second at the gate and looked out over the night landscape combined with creepy music.

...and if you missed the VHS jacket to this movie, you missed it. It showed a bunch of punked up zombies standing in front of gravestones with one of them kneeling and spray painting "Return of the Living Dead" on one of the headstones. Later copies of the movie that could be purchased in stores re-did the cover and completely mess it all up. I never got why they did that.

@2FNFAT You are so right. I've loved horror movies my entire adult life, and because of that constant exposure to the genre, I'm not all that scared by what I see anymore. I was about 28 the first time I saw this when it first came to cable and it literally scared my brains out. It's scary, it's creepy, it's gross, and some of it is funny on purpose. That half corpse blew my mind, and to this day the basement scene with Tina and the first Zombie from the canister is the BEST horror scene ever!

i do agree with u on movies that have punks and they dont know anything about it but but this movie got the look right for the early scene of the late 70s early 80s and had a great punk soundtrack with tsol, the cramps, 45 grave, the flesheaters and the damned and to to me this is the one movie with punks that had a all punk soundtrack and yes it is mocking punks in a way with lines like "I like it its a statement" lol but all in good fun plus ths is the 1st flick the zombies run!

I just saw this, and in my opinion it was okay. It was kinda funny at times but I would've rather watched the original Night of the Living Dead. I really didn't like that group of friends, though. They were a bunch of posers, Hollywoods version of punks. I hate when movies have punk characters but don't know a thing about it.
