never said pubbing is bad if they have your best interest in mind. of course most beginning come from fan art . however to transition from fan to creator often calls you to cut those apron string and get your own bag. the sooner the better. this is where often your style has room to grow.
I think you act like publishing is bad. Nothings wrong with seeking out a publisher or not, but if your tried a manga just make it however you want if you copy naruto or bleach whatever.... you improve yourself. You know most artist start coping pinup stuff and doing fan art, but thats how they get bettter. and they finnaly do something original later.also alot of manga is based of other manga. I do agree with people who want to publish when their art isnt good enough that annoys me
I sincerely agree. For a while, my story seemed like it would end up being a regular shonene anime, but as I opened my mind it suddenly transformed into a story with politics clashing with human nature. I don't think my story is good enough yet, but I'm gonna try harder. I do think that too many young artists are being exposed to an artstyle that's appealing to the eye, but the story telling has become stagnant, which kinda says alot from me, because I love anime and manga.
I believe what your sayin terrthom I've been drawing anime for 15 years now, the past 5 years more seriously. I took art classes in college. And I'm just now at to where I personally want to be in order to create a manga. I'm still not doing it yet though. I got to figure out what messages and feeling I want to send out into the world through my stories. Drawing manga takes time and patience. It won't happen over night!
whether or not you borrow some supernatural and other genre for your manga or comics i wouldn`t say my project is anything like you dbz, naruto or bleach but it does borrow influence from it and many other forms of media and it`s not a supernatural manga either and when it comes to designs i love fleshing out my characters it what makes them stand out alot but you gave some real talk and i respect that
i get what your saying but in japan most artist have staff to help them perfect themselves but most of us our doing this without any of that i feel that all of us lack that one think that will make us better at what we want to be i`ve read manga that isn`t even license in america of is not apart of shounen jump but alot of manga artist influence come from your akira toriyama,Osamu Tezuka ,Shotaro Ishinomori and so on it`s all about you enjoying your work and trying to be original
You're a damn fool, you know nothing. Even though this will be removed, at least you read it. While growing up niggas always said my shyt looked like DBZ and naruto, but look at me now, I'm flourished with my own set of skills that will take me to the top of where I want to be. It doesn't matter what kind of story you have, GOOD is GOOD. I can have a story where an alien goes to earth and fights to protect it( DBZ) But as long as i "tell" the STORY differently and make it GOOD, IT WILL SELL.
Well I ran out of room but i mean it will be good to readers and you will get fans. Part of what you say is true, but why even become a mangaka if you doing it just for "fun"?
You guys are taking me the wrong way. Sure everyone does it for the love! It should always start that way. To be a mangaka has been my dream for a hot minute. I want to be a professional mangaka, but if I make it, my dream isn't done yet. I'll have fans( that will keep my dream going). I won't be satisfied if I were in that one guys shoes...damn what's his name...with the dreads...got some books already out? Well you know who I'm talkin bout. I want to be making manga for myself and others.
not ture at all ...your style looks like dbz and naruto still. Maybe some dumb ass kid well by your manga, but you will not have a big fan base if your art looks the same .....story is the base dont have that u will fail ..no matter what
Don't be too quick to make assumption day. You haven't seen what I'm capable of, though of course I am influenced by what's "good" out there, I know I'll have a manga bigger and better than Naruto and the other good mangas. Although there's no way for me to show you yet. I'll let it be known when my time comes hopefully next year when I move to Japan!
bigshot? never that! i ALWAYS point out my short comings and lack of experience. were all in the same boat but different stages of .finish. publishing benefits are distribution of course.
but it seems to me you may give up waaaaay too many rights! CONTENT CONTROL IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME!
naruto and bleach are good well put together in story, design, and character
i wanted to apoligize for my comment last night terrthom i over reacted... and i rewatched your video this morning and realized that most of the stuff you said was completely true. i hope you can except my apoligy. thanks
One of, if not the, best video I've seen on youtube. So much truth, only hope that those who lack the inexperience can accept and heed those word. Great vid man... as usual...
Most Sci-Fi isn't main stream and that's what really drove me to manga. And naruto, bleach, what drove me to them was the creators "Just amazing stories
on both of those people"
And the naruto bleach ideas I have my issues with them!

I hear you, man. Been working hard for six years under the radar. All I got is the story and the art style. I'll be somewhere eventually, though.
