  • Even in the 80's people knew that Apple was ripping them off!

  • can it run crysis?

  • This isn't a US advert - this was made for Commodore in Australia - part of a collection of similar ones that were produced by the John Singleton agency for C=

  • hahah people slated apple even then, amazing how apple still survive

  • TOING! 0:09

  • Can it run Crysis?

  • @KandiiKiddii

    Only as text adventure.

  • @leroyrs But what an adventure! So much more immersive as your imagination has 5,000,000,000 TRILLION colours and infinite framerate!

  • 64bit? nooo 64k! ahahah

  • @RyckardPT So... 16-bit addressing scheme? I don't know off hand what the bus width was. Too lazy to google.

  • "Everything is possible when you have commodore 64

    I'm eating an apple"

    PO-PO-PO-PO POWER

  • why so much apple hate

  • @SamBuckleProject because apple sucks

  • @kallemick hmmm.. I'll go tell the entire sound and film industry that they are doing it wrong.

Theres a reason so many people use them.

  • @SamBuckleProject all their products are expensive and a mac cant be used for much else then working on not to mention that they attack other products in their commercials

  • @kallemick Typical response. And attacking other products in a commercial is exactly what happens in this video^

  • @SamBuckleProject yes but i have never really seen microsoft attacking anything in their commercials and in my opinion thats how a commercial should be

  • @kallemick I wouldn't call it attacking. Everything they say is true after all.

  • @clipophile i would and attacking another product is just showing how low apple are

  • @kallemick ... You realize this is a Commodore International commercial right? If this WERE an "attack" how would Commodore claiming their C64 is better than Apple II computers make APPLE low?? Did you actually watch the video?

  • @clipophile yes i have watched this video several times and your comment dosent make any sense because what i have said has nothing to do with this both commodore and apple is low for attacking the other products

  • @kallemick So... You're just crying butt hurt at advertising in a video's comment section in a way completely unrelated to the video.

I must concede. Your logic has bested my feeble intellect.

  • @clipophile why does it always take so long for you to find something new to say? it shouldnt matter anymore at the time it takes for you to find something new to write and why did you even bother discussing something i was doing with another person? youre really starting to bother me with your takes-1-week-to-figure-out-something-to-write thing just when i think youre gone you come with something new because youre a fucking 8 year old that cant stand not being right

  • @kallemick Y u mad tho?

  • @clipophile im just really tired of this pointless discussion

  • @kallemick Microsoft have attecked open office

  • @lucinos19 yeah right

  • I love the commercial but can you tell me who the voiceover is for the commercials back in the 80s? He sounds very sophisticated.

  • they rebuilt this thing and it can run Windows 7 and Mac os/x next to the commodore 64 OS

IT IS MORE POWERFULL THEN MAC PRO!

    Commodoreusa(dot)net

  • haha same thing today

  • DAMN THIS THING BLOWS MY AMD OPTERON 12 CORE RUNNING AT 4.2 GHZ AND MY TRI RADEON 4GB 6990s AND MY 21 GB OF CORSAIR VENGENCE DDR3 WITH 2TB WC CAVIAR ALONG WITH MY CSB X-FI TITANIUM CLASS SOUND CARD OUT OF THE FUCKING WATER

  • The wrong company went bankrupt.

  • i eat an apple now lol

  • Oh there it is! I found my grandma's typewriter :)

  • you think ur commodore 64 is really neato, what kind of chip you got in there a dorito?

  • See this ad!. Straight to the point, no fucking about. No wonder the C64 ruled the first half of the 80s and still selling well into the early 90s.

  • RIP Jobs.

  • I want to eat an apple now

  • Commodore was the best.

  • RIP Jobs

  • This computer you could use to make programs without an operating system. You learn the language and you make your own programs. ex. 10 print hello 20 goto 10

  • commodore 64 they used to work with casettes lol

  • @KKarkaz

Especially in europe 90 percent of them sold in the us were sold with a 1541 disk drive

  • I have saved an old and original c64 with the orange function keys. My heart beats up if i see this computer. The good old 80's, i miss the old times. Every weekend copy parties, basic code typing from homecomputer magazines and the sound is awesome!

Katakis, To Be On Top, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Elite... AWWWWWWWWW!

    May the C64 never forgotten.

  • load "*" ,8,1

  • IMPOSSIBLE MISSION

  • This is a amazing game commercial

  • If it were a commercial today, Apple would sue them!

  • @bockenrecords

    For using an apple?

  • "You think your Commodore 64 is really neat-o. What kinda chip you got in there - a Dorito?" - Weird Al

  • Amazing commercial

  • but will it blend?

  • i want run crysis on it

  • @TOM5510 get out

  • Thre was the Atari 400/800, the Texas Instruments 994A, the TRS80, and more- and this little guy oustsold them all- combined. The mighty C64.

  • Yes, the new one can! Check it out at commodoreusa(dot)net on the new Intel Core i7 and Atom powered C64s!!! Also check out 'New Commodore 64x Crysis' on Youtube

  • Yes, the new one can! Check it out at commodoreusa(dot)net on the new Intel Core i7 and Atom powered C64s!!! Also check out 'New Commodore 64x Crysis' on Youtube

  • $595 for just a keyboard...WoW

  • $600 for that piece of shit?!?! fuck that holmes3000 you fucking scam artist

  • Apple II in that same year with 48kb memory went for.........wait for it........$2638.00

Oh yeah back then Jobs was ripping people off LOL!!

  • @f1seb They still do rip people off. Nothing has changed with the corporate division of Apple.

  • @f1seb He still is. Oh wait...

  • @f1seb You should go read his book. It mentions in length how he hated the fact that they put the price up that high and it would be the reason why Apple suffered during those years.

  • Who ate my Apple?

  • WT******

    595$

I'm Soooooo Going to buy that!!!

  • @TheBm1999 That would be around 1200$ of nowadays $s. But for the specs, it was a best buy, no other machine at the time had the same bang for the bucks.

  • HOLY SHIT 600 DOLLARS BACK THEN!! lmao!!!

  • apple ii is better to me

  • 64K on windows vista = EPIC WIN

  • I'd still rather a C64 over a modern apple computer.

  • @TokyoChopSquad I'd prefer an broken stick than a modern apple computer..

  • @TokyoChopSquad I would have it over the Apple II,But only drug dealers would have a c64 over a MBP

  • @MultiEnglish1 But maybe "antique" has a higher price that rises as the time goes by?

  • I gotta get one so I can play the new Star Fox 64 game.

  • @iMacG3nerd

No. But it will play games like Ant Attack and Castle Wolfenstein.

  • @iseestars2much

Kane! Hacker! Holy crap there were some great games in that era.

  • Adjusted for inflation, I realize now that my father really sacrificed to buy this for me...

  • So when does it come out?

  • Only 595$! What a steal!

  • @helgih580 LOL it was! Even better when it was (intentionally) closer to $250 within a year! That's considering that ther other, lesser-advanced computers would could cost usually no less than $200 more than that, often even more.

It was like getting an Alienware for like half or one-third of the price of some crappy eMachine, see? hehehehe Ah, Capitalism! When it works right like that, you get MORE for LESS! YAY! hehehe

  • Nom nom... nom nom... nom nom... nom nom.

  • commodore 64 rocks and wtf with the iPad! you cant insert controller in that device!!

  • Wow, 64k? That's some blazing fast stuff there.

  • Nothing has really much changed since then, i mean, back then, or nowadays, apple has been overpriced and there are computers that work way better than an apple

  • i miss the old days

  • @vipman437 im with u bro

  • @vipman437 same :(

  • @vipman437 i don't, i wasn't even alive then :DDD

    goooood old C64

  • this should be the new apple commercial

  • wow, even back then apple was selling computers with half the computing power and twice as expensive.

  • @FernandoPST Apples were mostly in schools so they could afford to sell them for more since the Government

    was buying them.

  • Can't believe I came across an "Enhanced" debate over tech on a website dedicated to those of us that want to reminisce the golden days of gaming invention. Honestley haters.... go join a forum and vent. Believe it or not, some people surf Utube looking for entertainment or ideas, Not to hear your sorry ass raging at anyone who has something to say, just so you can make your self feel bigger in your own head.

  • ЭЛЕКТРОНИКА МС 0511 - РУЛИТ!!!

  • @RaymondLovesPedos You took it personally. He's just sayin that this generation of videogames lack effort. And at most times, it really does. "Just throw some flashes and shades, they'll give us thier money".

  • Still better than anything crapple makes.

  • The more I think about it, the more i'm starting to think that all of our modern day gadgets come from reverse engineered alien technology. In a span of 30 years, they've managed to essentially put all the capabilities of this bulky machine into my calculator, and more to my very tiny phone (Xperia X10 mini pro)...

  • @Rachamacha you're not good at thinking obviously. With reverse engineering there would be periodic dramatic breakthroughs rather than constant predictable progress (no matter how fast)

  • @VladBlok28 Small Alien tech -> Reverse engineering -> More knowledge -> Little breakthroughs -> more progress -> Big difference...

  • @Rachamacha OOOOR it goes like this: invent integrated circuit in the 50s -> improve it ->improve it -> improve it -> Commodore 64 in the 80s -> improve it ->improve it -> improve it -> 30 years later - big difference. GOD i hate stupid people who try to be smart. Do the world a favor and go back to mopping floors or shining shoes or whatever it is you do for living k thanks.

  • Stupid? FUCK YOU. My IQ is over 130, I was just stating a possibility, when you started to assume the level of my intelligence was low, and arguing with me for no apparent reason whatsoever. And don't try to suggest that I took a little facebook quiz or something, because it was a proper IQ test. Also, not to mention that your last argument was even more vague than your first one. Take some time off to think about it from every angle, realise that I am neither wrong nor right, and stfu.

  • @Rachamacha Good for you, my IQ is well above that, but not that it matters. The reason i started arguing is because people who make daring claims based on absolutely nothing other than their own irrational thoughts and what they heard on TV once, make me go fucking insane. I am surrounded by these people and i get very short tempered when they won't listen to reason. Sorry if i wrongly accused you of being stupid, i merely based that on your ridiculous chain of though.

  • @Rachamacha Oh and there is no such thing as neither wrong nor right. The truth exists, it's simply not revealed to us. We can debate over what we think is right but ultimately there are some explanations that simply fit better than others. Occam's razor

  • The Commodore 64 is better then the apple II but whos still around today?

  • Only 595$ !

  • @SMoK177 thats about $1200 in today's money

  • $595 for THAT?

  • @sparkybigptalkshow

I don't even know where to begin with your comment. Compare the $599 for this with the 64K with the $1500 that sickly looking, turtle neck wearing narcissist was charging for the 48K Apple II computer at the same time. I'd like you to eat that Iphone 4 you're giving away. Show some respect for the technology that brought PCs mainstream and allowed your worthless self to use a computer at an affordable price.

  • @SuperCrankyGuy I am saying that it is old.

  • so macs cost the same as they did back then huh? here a slogan for em "overpriced since 1982"

  • Guess what guys? Commodore is back baby! They have a brand new 64 bit C64, and you know what that means? You can play high definition gaming such as Modern Warfare 2 crap. Also, the operating system is based on Linux!! Thumbs up so everybody hears the big news! And, copy and paste to other C64 videos so more people know. This is big people!!!

  • what the hell half the cost so the other one is $1190 for a computer in 1983 i dont think so

  • 595 Fucking dollars, yeah thats cheap >P

  • @thetick531 Not with inflation.

  • @thetick531 and this was what, 20 years ago? lol thats even more expensive then :P

  • hahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah what a commercial .. .. was this commercial about apple or commodore

  • So what you're saying is that a keyboard back then was $595?

  • @Hotrodx199

no. The entire Keyboard was the computer. And a pretty good one for the time.

  • i will still take my c64 over a new apple...

  • c64 wins

  • @BlueIsa7 In a sense, it is (granted, it's the Commodore Amiga, the C=64s successor, that's making a comeback, but still...)

    Google "A-Eon" or "Amiga X1000"

  • c64 games are better than ps3, inside there is a soul.....

  • @ematech lol.

*10 year old* "soul? sysstems dun hav soles you noob. you just dunt like the ps triple because your too pore and the blue ray is to good 4 u"

I agree with you:) urh, I mean not the 10 year old :P

  • @thesniper1191 you spelt soul wrong kid

  • @warwick2155 Well, yeah. A ton of words were misspelled, I was acting like a fanboy- ah never mind:P

  • @ematech I call bullshit on that :)

  • @ematech let me guess.... you play Xbox.

    Child

  • @ematech why use ps3 as an example? Why not the shit sucking... Sega 32x?

  • @BeeFittyTwooz today is very simple write a software, you have a lot of power and a lot of memory.

write a game or demo in 64 k !!!!!!!!!! Demoscene rulezzz

  • @BeeFittyTwooz 32X is way better than the ps3

  • @ematech Agreed...aside from Lair, that game has a very powerful soul, and it was made by Factor 5, who originally made games for the Amiga, so it makes sense as to why it brings such power and emotion to the player (not just because of the story but mostly because of the gameplay and music...like old games).

  • @ematech Tell that to Littlebig planet...

  • @ematech souls aren't real.

  • holy shit $595 jesus christ @_@

  • Will it blend?

  • wow takes me back, i remember typing some long programs bk in them days, when its finished just type "run" then hit return then u get a bouncy ball going across the tv lol and my fav game back then was called Kick Start, hours of fun :)

  • That costs more than a PS3

  • @metaloidx

    And has more games.

  • My REAL name is Steve Jobs, and after viewing this video, I think I'll buy one!

  • i ran black ops on maximum on my Commodore.

  • I bet that apple must be yummy.

  • 64K? Who the hell needs THAT much memory? Good grief!

  • @Cinj216 Anyone who uses youtube has 640,000k of memory - or more.

  • @jjovereats it was sarcasm...

  • @TheRimDoctor Anyone who uses youtube has at least 32MiB memory and may run PuppyLinux.

  • @jjovereats As I said, that was sarcasm.

  • @jjovereats Whoosh.

  • It's still at almost half the cost

  • I'm thinking of a number between1 and one hundred

  • Those damn computers will never catch on!

  • Comment removed

  • I still have one of those things.

  • Thats nice. BUT WILL IT BLEND?

  • this is still better than mac OSX

  • STILL JUST HALF THE PRICE AT GOODWILL!!! but u dont c any apple 2s or i could sell it for the price of a macbook air

  • There was a reason that the commodore was so cheap. Look up Jack Tramiel and how he did his buisness.

  • This commercial made me hungry.

  • This commercial was FAIL for one reason...

    MACINTOSH APPLES ARE RED! DX

  • commodore ate apple

    hahaha

  • @bbirdsr71, The simple fact is Commodore Machines pissed all over Apple products in the 80's.

Would have been nice if Commodore survived but there are still many happy Memories and they live on with emulation!!

  • So who is still in business? I'm waiting for a Commodore phone.

  • apple

  • 595 Dollars!!! Man you could buy a house for that in 1985!

  • A 3rd mo billion!

  • HOLY SHIT!! 595 $ FOR THAT "Royal Shit" lol. mustve been a big rip off back then. Lol

  • So many companies wanted to "take a bite out of Apple" back in the day. The worst example is the Coleco ADAM.

  • commapple 64...

  • Apples were overpriced back then, and still are now...

  • @HypnoToad72, yep. They trick the suckers today the same way they did back then. They always try to target roughly, college age people and teens for the most part. That way they tend not to know history or the past and fall for it every time. Only back then people used to get all excited over 128k. And a megabyte, omg, that was the size of the universe, lol.

  • And Apple is still to expensive...

  • @steve0steel

    Some things will never change...

  • we still have in the garage my first computer I experience by the age of 3.
