My great grandfather Hosea Hill was Guitar Slim's manager. He was a regular in his bar The Sugar Bowl. He is buried in Thibodaux, Louisiana not far from when Hosea is buried.
Guitar Slim died in 1959 when he was really young, he was the original template of a hard drinking, rocking and rolling blues guitar player much like Stevie Ray Vaughan years later. Guitar Slim Jr. (his biological son) doesn't come close to his father's energy on record
