For the commenters that think this is abusive/a waste of time, Border Collies NEED TO WORK. They get into mischief (i.e. eat your house) if they are bored. They aren't dogs who are happy just hanging around doing nothing. Some bcs are agility or flyball, some herd, some dance, and some learn lots of tricks- bcs don't care as long as they are doing something intellegent. Learn a bit about a breed before you start accusing people of 'abuse'.

Out in the wild animals also have to go hunting (with the risk they get hurt...) Per owners, who teach there pets tricks, are the best! They work with there animals and spent time with them. instead ignoring them and let them lye around all day.

I have no problem with people teaching their pets new tricks, but some people might cross the line and I think it can happen that some people might become frustrated with their pets when they cannot do some stupid trick and might even hurt them.

Read about some of the sad stories of animals trained in the circus and you will see the kind of horrible things that can happen when trainers become angry.

A bored border collie becomes destructive and can develope OCD behaviors like hording other animals and persons in the house. This dog obviously loves what she is doing and she is getting rewarded for it. What's there to feel sorry about?

@elijah7k yes, some people can blow this stuff out of porportion and have their dogs do stupid shit when they dont need to. but as for this dog in this video...she looks happier than pigs in shit, and im sure thats not what she does all day is do tricks. yes i does take alot of time and effort to train a dog to do as many tricks like this but everything is all done one step at a time. for training a dog you work on one part of the trick, and only one trick...not all at once.

I'm not saying Paige is intentionally abusing her dog but many people will actually abuse their dogs or animals to get them to do what they want.

I also don't think & neither I'm saying that teaching your dog tricks is bad but some people don't know when to stop, some things are unnecessary for dogs to learn.

The food kept spilling everywhere because Paige would drop it! then Oscar would run away! Then I actually learned from my mistakes, took out all the food, and gradually added it back in to give her more confidence. Oh and gave Oscar treats the whole time! haha!! training cats is so hard!
