Years ago, WWLS out of New Orleans, La . would play' " IT' s 4 in the mornin" by Faron. He had a gift. He was a good looking, polished country singer. " Hello Walls" You know I can keep going but I won' t. RIP Faron. You are not forgotten.
Faron you were the king of the crooners .. nobody could sing a song like you. you just looked like you were having as much fun as the people. I miss you already but you are gone. sad to say R.I. P. OLLD SHERRIFF.
This live version is so much better than the recording. If the the record had this much punch it would have probably done better. But none of the old timers were charting much in 1988 when the song was released.
Faron is really great! His style & phrasing sound alittle like Dean Martin,in some songs. I've played country music for 30 years because of great singers like him!
Greatest singer ever, Not a day goes by that I don't miss you. But memories of all the years shared will live forever. Wonderful video, don't get any better than this. Photoboop BETTY
It is on his 1988 Step One album "Here's To You" Unfortunately, to my knowledge it is no longer available unless you can find a copy on e-bay or someplace like that. Good luck in finding it. It is a great album.
I remember seeing this guy on The Nashville Network in the late eighties when I was young. Even though I wasn't a big fan of country music (that was my ~dad's~ music) I would still catch it whenever Faron was on because he always made me laugh, one of those guys who was happy and happy to share it. I seem to remember him hosting a few times as well. My dad met him a few times back in the Louisiana Hayride days and said he was always a nice guy, just liked to talk and crack jokes.
This is the man who was my favorite, and still is. One of the best in the business. Sad that he's not mentioned much anymore. Great artist and talent. He'll be missed.
Faron was born 1 day before Johnny Cash was. One wonders why Faron didn't remain a big star in the 80's and 90's like Cash, George Jones and Willie Nelson. He still had the voice
It's funny how he looks and sounds totally different here than in the '50s videos. The only way that you know it's him is he still does the same right eye wink.
Same voice..just a different style. He was a very versatile entertainer. As for the looks, will any of us look the same 30 years from now as we do now? In my case (doubtful that I will live another 30) I certainly don't look the same now as I did 30 years ago.
You are absolutely right!!! I wish there was something that good on TV now.. The only thing IMHO that comes close are Willie's Old Showbiz shows on RFD.
Each show was recorded maybe they'll release it as a DVD set or something someday...

One more little FYI, on the 45 rpm of this song, it shows Faron has sole writer credit. Not bad.

I love watching the video and I always wish he was still alive, I think he was a handsome man too. At least we got videos and tapes/CD's.

It's much better than the actual studio recording. I think he stepped it up a notch for a live audience.
