Problem is, my friend, that I DO have an aveo, which is SLOW from the factory. First, K&N. Little gain. Tornado made it GAIN AFTER 4500 instead of gasp. Finally installed a cheap 70 hp chip from ebay and BOOM! It screams. Take out the filter and tornado, and NOTHIN. See, your advice is probably based on talk and hearsay instead of experience. You sound like me at 22. "No replacement for displacement" yadda yadda. I EXPERIENCE the huge difference. And I was rude. Forget it. PEACE

Cool, bro. Sold my evo the minute I drove the ss turbo. Went through 5 omni glh turbo's, and the SS is the closest thing! You and I are friends, but I'd still bet you the mods I did make more than 50 hp on the dyno. You would take that bet, and I would probably lose by 5 hp. Done. Want a GOLD one, no accessories, gold cloth int. SLEEPER! Got friends at chevy, hoping for a COPO. If not, black, loaded, leather. YEAH!

Sorry to bust your balls, bro, but I just remembered that the TORNADO has been adopted by manufacturers. Ford and Subaru definitely have them, they're called tumble generators. One just went out on my bro's turbo baja. So I guess they do work, eh? Believe me, from a physics-angle, it does make sense. The coriolis effect cannot be denied.

i understand the concept, but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that they would put something in the air intake that could break and go thru the engine. and the engineers put enough effort to get the desired turbulance from the intake manifold itself

You misunderstand. The 'tumble generator' is not able to fall into the engine, nor is the tornado. However, I assure you that they are in the manifold of the ford and who knows where on the scoob. Just look it up, or call a mech at a dealership. Also, the TG on my bro's car didn't fall into the engine, just slipped and blocked the air a little. Only I noticed the difference in power. Took my bro, the dealer and the car weeks to catch up! So, right, but they're way ahead of ya.

i am actually a mechanic in a speedshop in montreal and find that 170hp ( not to forget its at the wheel witch means that actual engine power is 18-20% more on a dynojet like this one) is VERY respectable considering that this engine develops around 90hp at the wheel stock and 8psi gives around 50% more power on a kit well done. Also i think this car sounds great and it seems to be well tuned! so you might not like aveos but you cant deny that they did a good job!!

OK, lo siento, soy gringo, pero puede ganar bastante fuerza por la calle con un K&N, un tornado, y la chip que se venden en ebay. Si, el chiquito para $10usd.. Pierdes el muffler, tambien, si es possible. Va a ganar @50hp, y @10mdg(mpg, mdl.... qalquier). Antes de gastano para un turbo, como SQUIRES TURBO, mira al ELECTRIC SUPERCHARGERS, you creo nuestro carro puede uar el E-RAM, y es barato, relativo al turbo. there are no kits for the aveo (at least in n. america). its all custom made,look at spending roughly 3-5gs if you go this route. trust me, im doin the same thing to my aveo. its not easy, but not difficult either.

I got a stripper factory job, and found that a stage 1 will work, bang for buck, better than a turbo, and only costs @100 bucks. JUST a K&N, tornado, and $10 chip from ebay made it a rocket! Mileage is up, too. Wifey won't let me loose the muffler, but that would boost mileage even more. FASTER than any of our 5 GLH turbo's, FM youbetcha. SOLD my EVO, don't need it. AMS, too, but bang for buck, this is TRULY a sport compact cat worth the money. 0 down, 0%, $120/month. LOVE MY SLEEPER!

those things are absolutely useless and the power increase is probably in your head; PEOPLE SHOULD BEWARE OF THOSE STUPID INVENTIONS THAT CLAIM TO SAVE YOU GAS!! A WELL MAINTAINED CAR WILL BE THE MOST EFFICIANT the only engine modifications that will increase power more agressive camshafts, higher compression pistons, head porting/oversizing valves, superchargers or turbo kits/upgrades: these things are all pretty expensive but are the only ones that will truly affect your engine!!!

By the way, Mike, AMS won't TOUCH your aveo. They got little time for STREET evo's, and even if they do, it won't work. They can't tune it. Even if they could, they wouldn't. I was one of their first customers, ;and they did a TERRIBLE job of installing a supercharger on my bro's focus. Never even suggested tuning it. Damn thing broke after 50k miles. Check out squires.
