  • @bassboy923. I'm 15 and know that running on the muffs is not gonna give you much water, but that is not gonna make it smoke more or steam, the smoke is the oil burning because its 2 stroke with oil mixed. Please explain to me why it would smoke more and steam. Stop talking about this dudes motor, because apparently you have no know knowledge of how a motor works.

  • Music.

  • u have to get a better water supply, if you watch the "test" hole off the back of the motor, it will piss, then blow air, and piss some more. it was not a steady stream, thats why there is so much smoke and steam

  • if it aint smokin it aint runnin

  • WooooHooo)=)=)

  • Cause they are mercs Allendear LOL!!

  • Sounds like a very fast Mercury

  • how exactly does an outboard dyno work? What are those hoses going to the prop shaft, for cooling?

  • Looked like a good pull to me...!!!

  • a dyno for an outboard?? that's new =p

  • @TheHalo3Center what prop?

  • I have always wondered... why do Mercury engines go so fast???

  • @Aliendear

    they dont

MERCURY was shit until they started to make four stroke engines. two strokes werent economic- there was no ECONOMY

  • @gapexxxsuspension I see you're only 18. When I was 11 years old, I saw mercury outboards that beat out johnsons and other models. I have observed that johnson (and others) would push the stern in the water and raise the bow. While mercury flushes the stern for only a few seconds, but levels the craft as speed picks up. Giving the craft level and fast flight across the water. In those days, and for many more days... mercuries would go so much faster than outboards of the same horsepower.

  • @Aliendear

That would be more a trim issue / set up I'm thinking dude.

  • @gapexxxsuspension I really don't understand your reply

  • That can't be good.

  • Jeff quit looking at the same vids im lookn at.

    Conrad

  • No where enough water comes in from a garden hose for running that hard! It must have gotten a bit hot, not to mention what happened to the impeller.

    Jeff

  • If my outboard smoked that bad I'd be worried she was gona blow. All that smoke can't be good LOL

  • Its steam guys, yes there is smoke, but the majority of what you see is steam from the water in the exhaust. Notice how it rolls off and dissipates. The little smoke that you do see is from the double oil in the fuel, the motor was fairly new and at the end of her break in period.

  • @mercman420

its just a steam and exhaust smoke beacuse the engine is two stroke no problem with that

  • yup and damn proud of it! Sounds great

  • Call me crazy, but I'm gonna venture a guess that the horsepower was around 200 as stated in the title. He didn't say anything about mods to the motor.

  • You're an idiot. Why does everyone on here use the f word and bash everyone?

  • I didn't know they made a dyno for outboards!

  • It's a video of a boat on a dyno! You dont see that very often guy! It's a homemade video, not a CNN report. You want the results then go put your merc on a dyno

  • you can hear the results. their pretty damn good.

  • that fucker sounds gnarly!

  • What did it dyno at?
