I upgraded mine to windows 7 ultimate and its great! its blazingly faster than Vista which it had before and surprisingly Aero works on it so I don't know why it had a version of Vista without aero originally.

Mine broke about 1 week after the warranty expired because of overheating. The screen just went black. computer fan works but the screen dosent.

@thoslamantia Hello sir, I can for some particular reason completely see your point, for I own this exact same laptop particularly, and the non-glossy version, and I can completely see why it is a bad idea to downgrade this computer to Windows XP... for I stuck with Vista and am still complaining about no Aero. This is the first Windows Vista computer I've ever owned though.

Sht I have this laptop. It's performance is fairly good, but it has an over-heating problem. And I can't just open and clean the fan because you have to remove everything to get to the fan -_-

I have it! I upgraded to windows 7 and installed 2 gigs of ram. I love it. Can you message me and tell me how your battery is holding up. I purchased mine in September of 2006 and now my battery life on power saver is 1 hour and 36 minutes. I think its pretty good considering the age of the battery. I think i will buy an extended battery though. Windows 7 is so much faster on this laptop though. P.S. I still am using the original battery! =). Who says that these batteries generally last 3 years!

I have it it's really nice and fast... The xterm is wiggly though , it's all slipery. Also the battery doesn't last very long , I usualu don't use it though, I rake I out and use the powerpack. Other than the battery, IRS a great laptop to me.

I have this laptop and it's real great in performance. The battery is terrible but it's still a super awesome laptop.

I have one (my uncle has one to) i'm on mine right now but the fan broke dow so I use a cooling pad with a fan under it but other than that I have xp green lights (not blue) and no sd :-( I wish i had a sd slot

probably... i got that laptop it's so awesome and fast... it's running windows vista but mine has 1 GB of ram not two.. it had 512 mb but i upgraded and i kept vista in it
