  • If you can get Pinball Fantasies you should listen to the PC Speaker of that game Mind boggling good

  • @psyku don't you mean pinball arcade i think both used the pc speaker as an actual speaker.

  • @psyku Never Played Arcade, i don't really know about that only Fantasies which was surprisingly good.

  • There used to be freeware programs that would play MIDI files through the PC speaker like this.

  • TRACK6 RULED

  • @detnies /watch?v=U56KVYK5uTg

    :P

  • Are the sound developers going for world concert tour? I would definitely buy tickets!

  • Now this is what I call PC Speaker music!

I love how weird it sounds!

  • I search Shamrip PC Speaker version, thats for me the awesomest Soundtrack in Lotus III! Can anyone help me, please^^

  • @Defgir i'll try uploadin it

  • Call me crazy, but I love the PC Speaker.

    LOL

  • how did you record the sound?

  • Wow! I played this game a lot of years ago, in the 1st years of my teens! I remember that song of the track, too. Awesome!

  • good to see the pc speaker audio still holds up well to this day... a lot of fond memories of this game

  • ooooaaahhhh i love this melody... remaind me when i was 6-7 yo and play this on my old PC :D

  • HAHAHAHA

Fucking hell dude you spent like 2-3k on that singletasking bleepy POS.

    Amiga supremacy.

  • @richardmaudsley77 i understand how awesome the amiga is. i've been looking to actually get my hands on the hardware but never came close to it. closest thing i got by commodore is the 128 personal computer with basic and a shit ton of c64 games. truly commodore knew how to blow out the PC back in the 80's and 90's i believe seeing as how the advanced sound system and graphics were a punch. the pc at least gave way to add-on cards like adlib and gravis

  • @ratix98

Sadly though commodore were ran by the real life reacher gilt; i.e no R&D unless the engineers did it in their spare time and even then, if it cost them any money they wouldn't build it. In 87 they had a super advanced chipset in the labs, but it wasn't until 92 anything like it was built. With half the features, too.

    Bankrupcy: not a big surprise.

  • pc speaker actually can play MOD songs with a very good quality, have a modplayer named VPREG that can do that. But requires at lease 486dx... =D

  • @darkgiank as in you need a 486Dx or just a dos machine.

  • THIS is the reason i love 8bit...at least i think it is.

i used to play this ...just too long.

    split screen :D

  • sounds a little rough to me or is it supposed to sound like that. thats not bad it sort of sounds like nintendo music. but you figure the makers of this game have really pushed the limits of the hardware that runs the pc speaker.

  • No they didn't push the limits of the PC Speaker.

It's still only 1 voice channel... just they alterered notes extremly fast, so we think its polyphonic.

    But it sounds cool anyway.

  • I heard that its possible to play regular audio thru the pc speaker like MS had a program or something that allowed playback of stuff like wavs thru the pc speaker. id like to see that in action. I remember playing DOOM on the pc speaker b4 i got my sound card, at the time it was acceptable then i got a multimedia kit and that changed everything cd rom sound card speakers plus a shitload of games which I still have many of them today.

  • i had one game that used the pcspeaker like a real soundcard. only two games i know of that do that are pinball fantasies and out of this world/another world.

  • @coondogtheman1234 Access Software games like Crimewave could do it too. Trying to find that at the moment.

  • Woow, i used to play this game for hours with a friend in 2 player mode. Thanks for uploading this man ,you brought up great memories and made my day happy :) !

  • Wow!

1-bit (PC Speaker/Bleeper) music can sound realy good sometimes!

So sad that it has got only 1 sound channel, so it cannot have Sfx and Music at the same time...

  • brings alot of memories back. my 1st game on the pc

  • my first game!

  • Pretty decent conversion. The adlib soundtrack on PC is gruesome.

  • as in awesome or meh?

  • The adlib one definitely is "meh".

The PC speaker one is nicely close to the originals (played this on the Atari ST a good bit) and not as annoying as the adlib one.

  • ur totally on the money with that one. i prefered the genesis lotus II songs better then what we got with adlib. The genesis produced almost an identical sound except the genesis made it sound cooler.

  • This is soo Brutal I love it!!
