Por fin despues de tantos años de las series cz, fz y vz.... Que no sacaban un sintetizador..... Se ve muy interesante y el precio bastante accesible...! Ojala llegue pronto...!
Casio has stepped it up alot! I just wish the keys didn't sound so cheap. They should really consider waterfall or semi-weighted keys. Drawbar organ mode sounds alot better than the wk-7500/ctk-7000 though.
I searched and saw this will go for $499. Not bad at all. I had a Casio WK1800 that was nice but this is much better and not such a huge footprint either.
@RizzoAstronama You have no idea what you are talking about. The synth engine is deep, and the programming possibilities are endless. The drawbar organ alone is worth $500. Don't be so stuck on name brands and prestige.
@antimarxism - you see this guys channel? Yeah, like I'm going to take advise from some guy who makes "beats" on Fruity Loops advise about what's "Professional" or not (NOTHING AGAINST FRUITY LOOPS. Just saying)
Casio always made interesting products that kind of existed off to the left in their own "Casio" universe. I kind of like this, and I love the retro 80's look. Want to hear more of it, direct out.
I certainly do appreciate the XW-P1,as I was around when Casio was still in it's infancy & there was NOTHING like this for $499 back then...in fact,I've owned mostly Korgs for the last 23 years & currently own a Kurzweil PC3LE6 & a Yamaha MOX6.
None of these big names ever put out gear like this for $499...this is the coolest piece of gear imaginable, for something so affordable.
@Isaacrife08 the feature set of this doesn't seem much better than a rompler like a triton. Last time I checked Roland were just producing rubbish like this as well. Arturia was the biggest surprise at Namm. Analog will trump this everyday of the week. Plus the minibrute looks so easy to navigate. No going through menus!!
I agree about the Prophet 08 but it's a little bit out of a lot of people's reach. And the jupiters.... Hell I'd have to sell my first born to get one!!! I was just saying i
@TheHughyg How do you know? I've heard the MiniBrute and it half the sounds were as reedy as a damp patch. And just because something is 'easy to navigate' does NOT make it good. Too many people these days think that easy is good. That might explain a lot of today's MuLiP (Music-Like Product). Try having an open mind and stop knocking stuff till you know a little more about it.
Wow !!! Casio really done a wonderful job with these synths. But before I buy both of them, I need to see more demos for both of them and I wish these Casio haters would shut up.
I fail to see how they could even sell one of these. It's like a keyboard from 10 years ago! Hopefully small companies like Arturia and Eowave give the bigger guys a kick up the ass with products like minibrute and Koma!!!
Poor Tom had to work with an incomplete OS on this thing. He said they were updating both keyboards daily from Japan! Still, for the price, these are insanely cool keyboards. Just need pressure keys and an expression pedal input to be totally killer. If I wasn't jonesing for a JP-80, I'd probly get one.
Not underwhelming. But nothing outstanding. This is a good start, not something I would buy, but the XW-P1 in particular looks like a great, inexpensive, option for PERFORMING musicians. Producers look elsewhere.
Now, where are those new Phase Distortion synths, Casio!?
@casiblake phase distortion was the greatest back then. i own a vz-1. but i think this is great. i dont know why so called "producers" need to look else where. for me is just the oposit.
What about the onboard effects? I still own a CTK-691 for two reasons.. It's my first keyboard and i just LOVE the effects... i once had to bring it on stage to do only one song, because of its auto wah ;)

I would never get anything by casio as a serious piece of studio equipment. The sounds on this thing sound outdated by about 10-15 years.

The Casio XW-P1 is $500...do you honestly think that making a comparison to a $2000 Korg keyboard it a fair assessment??
I've been a Korg owner for 20+ years and I used to own a Korg EX and Korg NEVER made anything this nice for $500.
