Guess what Paco, slipknot is different from mushromhead in some ways.. Both bands are good, But i prefer European Heavy metal (cradle of filth, Arch enemy etc.) Melodic metal, and folk metal ( amon amarth, eluveitie etc..) I dont care if you want to fight about what i first wrote, its my opinion and i am gonna stick to it..

It's amazingly pathetic what kids will listen to. This band only became popular because of the masks and slipknot was a huge seller so they tried to do the same thing with Mushroom head. There are THREE NOTES in this entire song. There is ZERO musical composition skill in this band at all.

Don't judge by appearance, musically, these are two COMPLETELY different bands. Also, not to offend Mushroomhead fans, but Slipknot still sounds great with All Hope Is Gone. Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children disappointed me. And Savior Sorrow had heavy moments, but some of it is a little soft for me.
@caammilo not trying to insult you at all, but I think you should really research music when asking questions about bands with masks. Theatrical bands with costumes and gimmicks have gone back since KISS. Most bands in the "Black Metal" genre wear face paints and spikes and masks. Many of them dress similar and so on. Slipknot did not invent the wheel for masked or costumed bands. Many in the mainstream tend to credit that to the likes of "Mr Bungle" but it does go back further.
Imma make this easy on all the asshats out there. The bands stopped feuding why cant you you motherfucking cuntgrinders. They want to tour with each other they enjoy the others music they got past the masks once paul died and they realized how juvenile they were acting about a goddamn mask. if the band memberes can do that why cant you. there get it? no? then FUCK OFF!
is curious in all the videos of Slipknot Mushroomhead is mentioned, while in the videos of Slipknot Mushroomhead is not mentioned, why so much hatred against Slipknot? @ltfenn88 Corey was in Stone Sour first. He had to change who he was to fit SlipKnoT. Then when he tried to show more of who he is, he kind of changed the band. Confusing. I do think he should keep songs like "Snuff" (though I love the song) in SS, but as long as SlipKnoT still have some heavy songs like "Pulse Of The Maggots", "Gematria (The Killing Name"), "This Cold Black" (which are NOT Stone Sour songs), etc, I'm not too upset. I think the mix of heavy and soft keeps things interesting.

@ltfenn88 just the radio singles went mainstream, though. Gematria (The Killing Name), This Cold Black, Butcher's Hook, All Hope Is Gone, etc. are some of the heaviest songs they've ever done. Plus, they actually started playing solos (the old school Metal fan in me says that it isn't really Metal unless it has solos). The Metal bands from my day were more versatile and played solos, so I actually prefer their new throwback style to the Nu-Metal thing. But I guess that shows my age (32) too :)
@fucker661 Their radio singles maybe, but the unreleased songs on those CDs are some of their best, heaviest songs ever. Pulse Of the Maggots, This Cold Black, etc. are NOT Nickelback songs. Singles are always more mainstream and they're not a good represention of bands. You have to actually listen to the whole CDs. But anyway, it's stupid to compare the bands because they're completely different genres, but each is the best band I've heard from their own respective genre, so I love both.
If you are so distraught and hurt that both Mushroomhead and Slipknot wear masks, you have to resort to juvenile comments like "slipcock," point out that 3 words in a song are similar (even though the rest is completely different), or resort to album sales which would clearly put Justin Bieber ahead of both bands... I love Mushroomhead and I love Slipknot. Who cares if they wear masks, just adds to the spectacle. And the whole 'Who copied who' is absolute nonsense. I'm not certain which band came first, there wasn't much time between them. but if you seriously wanna get technical, they copied Mr Bungle for the masks. It was Mike Patton's Mr Bungle that started the mask-craze in bands back in the 80's (As sources tell me)

All Hope Is Gone, they kind of had the best of all worlds for that album, but it's still a great fuckin' record, I'll admit! From Snuff to Gematria, that album was awesome. Mushroomhead is Mushroomhead. Slipknot is Slipknot. The main difference in Slipknot's music today and in '99 is that Corey Taylor is as fucking nuts.

Mushroomhead came first before Slipknot. While both bands are good, the only reason Mushroomhead isn't as big as Slipknot is taking the contract came down between Jeffrey and Corey and Jeffrey didn't want it. Okay im late into mushroomhead. I dig their music. I love slipknot but there are huge differences in these two bands even i see that lol. These guys are alot more theatric, nothing wrong with that. @hcwmusic55 Mushroomhead's bassist used the moniker "Pig Benis" and wore a pig mask back in the day, BEFORE Paul adopted his Pig mask during Slipknot's S/T era. Concerning Mick's mask, I don't see any similarities that could be viewed as "copying." Mushroomhead used to all wear X-Face masks, and most of the ones they wear now are based on those. Also, neither Slipknot nor Mushroomhead were the first bands to use side percussion and sampling.

Both bands used masks and costumes in their formative stages for the same reason - the individual members of both bands were in other bands in their local scenes, and did not wish to be identified and risk their other gigs - and in both cases the gimmick stuck.

Don't judge by appearance, musically, these are two COMPLETELY different bands. Also, not to offend Mushroomhead fans, but Slipknot still sounds great with All Hope Is Gone. Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children disappointed me. And Savior Sorrow had heavy moments, but some of it is a little soft for me.

@caammilo not trying to insult you at all, but I think you should really research music when asking questions about bands with masks. Theatrical bands with costumes and gimmicks have gone back since KISS. Most bands in the "Black Metal" genre wear face paints and spikes and masks. Many of them dress similar and so on. Slipknot did not invent the wheel for masked or costumed bands. Many in the mainstream tend to credit that to the likes of "Mr Bungle" but it does go back further.

@ltfenn88 Corey was in Stone Sour first. He had to change who he was to fit SlipKnoT. Then when he tried to show more of who he is, he kind of changed the band. Confusing. I do think he should keep songs like "Snuff" (though I love the song) in SS, but as long as SlipKnoT still have some heavy songs like "Pulse Of The Maggots", "Gematria (The Killing Name"), "This Cold Black" (which are NOT Stone Sour songs), etc, I'm not too upset. I think the mix of heavy and soft keeps things interesting.

@ltfenn88 just the radio singles went mainstream, though. Gematria (The Killing Name), This Cold Black, Butcher's Hook, All Hope Is Gone, etc. are some of the heaviest songs they've ever done. Plus, they actually started playing solos (the old school Metal fan in me says that it isn't really Metal unless it has solos). The Metal bands from my day were more versatile and played solos, so I actually prefer their new throwback style to the Nu-Metal thing. But I guess that shows my age (32) too :)

Singles are always more mainstream and they're not a good represention of bands. You have to actually listen to the whole CDs. But anyway, it's stupid to compare the bands because they're completely different genres, but each is the best band I've heard from their own respective genre, so I love both.

I love Mushroomhead and I love Slipknot. Who cares if they wear masks, just adds to the spectacle. And the whole 'Who copied who' is absolute nonsense. I'm not certain which band came first, there wasn't much time between them. but if you seriously wanna get technical, they copied Mr Bungle for the masks. It was Mike Patton's Mr Bungle that started the mask-craze in bands back in the 80's (As sources tell me)
But at the end of the day, who cares. Just listen to the music and drink your coffee

It's very similar to Clown's old mask, but it doesn't have the orange, balding hair like Shawn's.

All Hope Is Gone, they kind of had the best of all worlds for that album, but it's still a great fuckin' record, I'll admit! From Snuff to Gematria, that album was awesome. Mushroomhead is Mushroomhead. Slipknot is Slipknot. The main difference in Slipknot's music today and in '99 is that Corey Taylor is as fucking nuts.

Mushroomhead came first before Slipknot. While both bands are good, the only reason Mushroomhead isn't as big as Slipknot is taking the contract came down between Jeffrey and Corey and Jeffrey didn't want it. @hcwmusic55 Mushroomhead's bassist used the moniker "Pig Benis" and wore a pig mask back in the day, BEFORE Paul adopted his Pig mask during Slipknot's S/T era. Concerning Mick's mask, I don't see any similarities that could be viewed as "copying." Mushroomhead used to all wear X-Face masks, and most of the ones they wear now are based on those. Also, neither Slipknot nor Mushroomhead were the first bands to use side percussion and sampling.
Please get your facts straight.

Both bands used masks and costumes in their formative stages for the same reason - the individual members of both bands were in other bands in their local scenes, and did not wish to be identified and risk their other gigs - and in both cases the gimmick stuck.
