  • Sad and beautiful. What a voice!!!!!!!!!!

  • Urumaa, Urumaa..

    De unde veniti?

Noi locuim aici in VdGG din 1978...

    Ghiozdane pictate cu Numele.

Am avut epifania anul trecut. Atit Peter cit si VdGG in concerte. Am dat mina cu Dinsul. Extraordinar.

Imi pare rau. Multumesc mult de raspuns.

  • Cryin my eyes out

  • a GREST band that never got the deserved recognition

Sudul – caldura intinselor campii, sterpe, uscate,

Unde sufla lin vanturi rasfirate, unindu-se toate intr-unul, in final,

  • Saw Peter Hammill play years ago in a smoky basement club in Bath. OMG - blew my mind. This and Just Good Friends are phenomenal.

Sweat sounds. I think this music both have sweat music and lyrics.

  • forget modern mix comment, video got interference. this is original and good.

  • Who were Mike and Susie?

  • @cuddlyable3

Just symbolic names that represents the refugees or all of us maybe.

  • @cuddlyable3 No, they're real people; the guys that Peter Hamill roomed with in his student days. Susie is the actress Susan Penhaligon. They're mentioned again in "Easy to Slip Away" ("Susie, I guess you're on your way to be a star, but I don't know where you are: the only time I seem to see you is on T.V.) FUN VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR FACTS

  • Fra le 500!

  • per te !

Thanks Peter Hammill and VDGG for all those moments of ecstasy.

  • mike and susie were people hammill shared a flat with in late 60s. susie is the actress susan penhaligon who is still appearing. not sure I like this mixing of old classic with modern pop/rock style

  • it's about losing and remembering friends and family you used to have but will never see again...We're refugees, carrying all we own in brown bags, tied up with string...

nothing to think, it doesn't mean a thing, but we'll be happy on our own.

    West is Mike and Susie;

    West is Mike and Susie;

    West is where I love,

    West is refugees' home.

  • Its about the changes between the hippy hopefullness of the 60s and tthe stark reality and lost innocence of the 70s

    Jim

  • @captainsoul1953 Refugees can't be about the 70s because Peter recorded it in 1969.
