Hello, we use the Rouston to run an electrobomb whit 15 horse power. the electrobomb trows 20.000 lts/hour and give energy to 2 houses. yes its work whit the 3 litle bands but the engine is 60 horse power. thank you to hatch this post!!
Super video and thanks for posting, but no way is that generator 380KW. Thats 500hp - through 3 little vee belts? I reckon the engine is around 20 to 30 hp and the generator less than 10 KW.
I would say the engine is capable of producing something in the order of 20 hp and looking at the size of the generator 3.8 kW would sound about right. W (watt, power) and V (volt, electric potential) should not be confused. To produce 380 kW, an internal combustion engine would consume atleast about 10 liters of fuel in an hour.
Sr este motor es de bajas revoluciones pòr minuto 400 rpm y el generador produce 380KV.
Origimanmente este tipo de motores estaba instalado en los barcos y luego fue adaptado a establecimientos que no tenian energía propia. Hoy en este campo de mendoza argentina ya tenemos energía, pero aún se conserba este motor en perfecto estado de funcionamiento. Saludos Eduardo Ortiz

It would take well over 400bhp to operate a generator producing 380kw!

There is also the tourque factor to concider, the 380KW is probably the maximum and at this speed it producting nothing near that.
