How it worked? You placed the ball on the edge where may be a nail stopped it from moving downwards. You pushed the ball towards wall so it won't be stopped any more by the nail. When you moved the ball upwards it reached the nail and moved backward.

Its not fake its a lopsided house and creates a gravitational illusion ive been here :P
