@niceguycody The motives, goals and mission statement has been on the main occupy website, (and probably all or most of the individual Occupy websites have done the same when they started up) from before the occupy movement even began. It's been very clear yet each individual has brought their own unique perspective and a strong component of the idea has been not to represent a collective other than being in "The 99%" in order to reinforce the fact that it's simply "Americans" who are uniting.

Lots of socialists like Ron Paul. They aren't closed minded like these two guys. Of course we are going to have some sort of capitalism with the rest of the world, but socialists fight for the most social causes they can because they know they will never get 100% socialism. It is going to take a lot of socialism to get any type of liberty back. So instead of calling socialist misguided, instead open your mind - it will show that you have brains to think outside of your enclosed viewpoint.

This is naive. We are now more of a socialist nation than Canada, mind you a nations healthcare system shouldn't be the litmus test for socialism. For 30 years Canada has been denationalizing their hard industries and the US for 60 years has been on course towards full nationalization!

Socialism fails because it cannot allocate land, labor and capital in an efficient manner.
