  • I've got a question, I'm African American and I was always told that there's some shaving products that I shouldn't use since my hair is a bit more tougher than yours (in terms of in-grown hairs). Would you happen to know if this is something that would work best for my skin and hair?

  • I have had many African American customers over the years who get great results with The Total Shaving solution. Only way to know for sure is to give it a try.

  • how to shave your head video... err I mean how to spend a ton of money video

  • If your priority is spending the least amount of money possible you're welcome to stick with a .69 cent can of Barbasol and a disposable Bic if that's what works for you. The rest of us who don't want to bleed will use the best tools for the job that we can find, which in my opinion happen to be the products I use in the video.

  • Once the blades dull on the panasonic..

how much will it cost to get new ones?

  • Around $40 bucks on Amazon, Panasonic part number WES9012PC

  • I think I'd prefer to have my George Costanza hair, the chicks DIG IT!!!!

  • Hey buddy, just picked up the machine and the oil from you...Cant wait to you try it. Question though- How would you recommend shaving stubble on the top of the head? Front to back/back to front or side to side?

  • Front to back, just like on the video.

  • You probably have oily skin, I do too. Nothing I know of to prevent it, nor do I think you should anyway, but I'd simply suggest taking a damp cloth and wiping your head whenever you feel like you need to. And if you're out and about somewhere find a bathroom, splash a little water on and dry it off. But if you're stubbly make sure you don't leave any bits of paper towel or whatever stuck to your head - all the more reason to shave it daily ;-).

  • how long will it last before the blades dull in the panasonic?

  • If you're shaving your head regularly (like 4 or more times a week) I recommend replacing the blades and foil assembly every 6 months.

  • Any advice about preventing your head from getting oily after your shave?

  • i took a look at your website dan and i must say i'm impressed..i'm bald so now i am interrested in ordering the panasonic linear shaver with the shaving oil.

  • how good is the panasonic???

  • Good enough that I use it myself and recommend it to others.

  • man...i hope i never go bald.

  • Its not so bad. Im 22 and my hairline has already begun to recede so I am just BBC (bald-by-choice) You always stand out at parties and the girls love to rub your head!

  • Do exactly what he says in this video, and you will have outstanding results. Don't skimp and get another wet dry, and don't skimp and use shaving gel. Panasonic linear and shave oil will get you a head shave that is as smooth or smoother than a blade and leaves your skin soft and conditioned. I followed his instructions to the letter and it has literally changed everything.

  • nice video, but i love my razor. i must admit i havent tried it with the electric shaver you are talking about , nice video . cheers from australia .

  • very very very very very nice video. Thanks! and LOL nice ending

  • Yeah, that's one of only a very few regrets I have regarding this video, shoulda shaved off the chest hair before the shoot. Didn't even occur to me until it was all done. Hey man, can't think of everything! If I ever do a sequel that will be a done deal.

  • I think you missed shaving ur chest man..you has got some austin powers chest hair lol

  • Oh I see... well yeah, I'd say go to a barber and have him buzz you down to stubble and the Panasonic can take it from there. Don't see much point in spending money on a trimmer if you're going to be shaving your head regularly.

  • This is an excellent vid. Very informative and professional.

May I ask what you would recommend for a first-time head shaver; will any electric hair clippers suffice?

  • Honestly what I recommend is watch the video and follow the instructions there.

  • thats exactly what i did, and i came out perfect

  • nice video...

would you say the panasonic linear shaver is better then the braun series 7?

  • Braun makes excellent shavers, but what sets the Panasonic shavers apart is Panasonics patented frictionless linear propulsion system, which ALWAYS moves the blades at full speed (13,000 rpm vs 10,000 rpm on the Braun) regardless of battery charge levels. No other shaver can match that.

  • thanks appreciate the info... keep up the good work!

  • hey do you know if that botle at walmart labeled TSS is the same as the one in your vid?

  • I would be SHOCKED if it were, although they've been known to carry some of the inferior knock-offs. I won't name names :-)

Check the bottle and see if the manufacturer is Total Solutions, Inc.

  • hey i saw a picture of shaq fu in there lol.

  • love the video

  • whats up man? say I am a black man and I always get really bad razor burn on the back of my neck making in noticeably black everytime I use a razor. I just started shaving my head a few weeks ago do you have any ideas if I am just using a razor? I always shave down on that part could that be it?

  • Number 1 suggestion would be to use The Total Shaving Solution as your shaving lubricant. Number 2 would be to use the Schick Xtreme3 as your razor. Number 3 would be shave in the shower.

  • great video , im a flight attendant i just use a good electric shaver, i use the oil on my head it helps a lot . cheers from australia.

  • While these are great tips, I personally had no luck with an elec. in the shower. I get my smoothest shave in two steps. First, I shave in the shower with a Mach3 (not turbo or fusion) using a glycerin soap until no stubble. Then, pat dry, apply lotion. Wait 15 minutes to dry, feel for stubble. Second step. I soap up once more over the sink and use the Mach3 for a second shave. Rinse, pat dry, lotion. For me. this method takes longer but ends up very smooth.

  • LoL. Bro, I have never went bold, so is there a way of creating a pic via computer design to see how I might look like. FOr the past 12 years, I have been growing an afro.

  • I don't know but if you Google around you might find something like that. I've seen it for celebrities.

  • I use a regular disposable Bic twice a week and get the same results, I thought you were going to show us how to get an even bald look, not just a smooth head that you still can see the crown. Too much uncalled for product placement and promotion. Alot of money wasted on that Panasonic just to go back over it with this cryogenically treated Shick. So how do you get rid of the crown look is what I'm getting at? Thanks in advance ShaverManDan.

  • Try shaving your head every day with the Bic and see where that gets you. The point of this is to offer an everyday solution to shaving your head perfectly smooth, and yes the products were all at one time available on my web site. Now I have scaled back and only The Total Shaving Solution is offered. But the advice in the video still stands.

If you want to completely get rid of "the crown look" and you're a white guy I'm afraid the only solution to that is to get a tan.

  • LOL, thanks again, I'll start working on that tan.

  • explain cryogenically treated

  • Nice video, but way too much like a commercial...

  • when you went over your scalp with the schick 3, why did you start from the forehead towards the back? what would happen if you started from the center of your scalp and went towards your forehead?

  • I always shave against the grain for best results, which is why I go front to back. Not that there's much grain on the top anymore but there is on the sides, and there I shave up from the bottom.

  • I have a question can you order that from the UK?

  • Yes you can order from the UK.

  • Could I possibly have the name for the website? Without being nosy, may I know is the girl your girlfriend / wife?

  • If you feel it's necessary you can use a few drops of The Total Shaving Solution with a little water. And/or some aloe gel.

  • so what lubricants/oils can one use on their scalp after shaving it bald? especially for people who have eczema?

  • You can use a few more drops of The Total Shaving Solution and water. You can also try any good aloe product.

  • It won't grow back fuller and thicker and it won't speed up the balding process either. It's gonna do what it's gonna do regardless of whether you shave it or not.

  • u c, its a common concern lol, or misconception. Could i use the braun pulsonic to shave my head? It runs at 10,000rpm with no slow down and it has two regular foils, i'll have to shave it dry though. What do u reckon, will it make a big difference from the panasonic?

  • Haven't used the Braun but I'd say shaving dry at 10,000 rpm isn't going to be as good as shaving wet at 13,000 rpm.

  • Is this good for black men with sensitive scalp as well?

  • Yes it is.

  • Can you find out what kind of shower head you're using in this video? Mine sucks and that looks like a good one.

  • Have no idea, but if you check the credits for the Marriott hotel at the end of the video you can call them and ask.

  • How big is that fogless mirror and what are the dimensions? I've been asking alot of questions. I'm one of those black guys that just can't shave with a razor because I get so many bumps and irritation that gets worse everytime i shave, even in the shower. If the panasonic can help me avoid all that by using an electric shaver that'd be great. I'd be satisfied with the closeness you got without using the razor. Does that oil really work???

  • The mirror is 4 3/4" x 6", plenty big. If you follow the instructions in the video you'll have your best chance at a great shave with no irritation. Of course the oil works!!!

  • nice vid...

question: i'm thinking about shaving my head. i'm 21, still have a real good hair line, and i'm not sure about MPB, but my hair definitely seems to be thinning. if i shave my head is there a chance it can grow back fuller and thicker or will i just be speeding up my balding process? or none of the above??

  • I wanted to comment on your product to tell you it's the best thing I ever used and I'm being completely honest. I started out shaving my head with gel, but had many bumps, cuts and sores. Only about month later did I find your product and haven't looked back since. I started shaving in August of 2003 and was using your product by September of 2003. I only used gillete razors, but am looking at trying out the Panasonic Linear and ordering some more oil very shortly. Keep up the awesome work.

  • i can only find the es8078s model not the es8077s one, is it still ok? It comes with the hyrda clean system, is that thing any good? The es8078s seems quite similar,13000rm,two foils like on the vid, same look too. what do u reckon?

  • have u noticed that the hair grows back weaker shaving with an electric razor compared to a blade, or at least the cut isn't as even?

  • No. A guy who doesn't have Male Pattern Baldness can shave his head every day for a year and the hair will come back as thick as ever. If you do have MPB and you shave your head you shave off hair from a dying follicle and it may not come back or will come back slower and thinner.

But it was going to fall out and not come back strong or at all eventually anyway. And it has NOTHING to do with shaving with an electric vs. a blade, and EVERYTHING to do with Male Pattern Baldness.

  • Good video, thanks!

  • it looks easy on him because he barely has hair but my hair is too thick

  • Not true, there's not much on top but plenty on the sides and back, and it's thick. The Panasonic plows right thru it no problem.

  • i m getting that oil you use man

  • There r a few newer versions of that shaver, do u think they r any better or do u still use this one? Also, does shaving my head this way increase the rate of hair loss, have u noticed that in your case? Thanx man, great vid.

  • You can't go wrong with an ES8077S or ES8043SC, but I'll be testing the new ES8109S this week. The only functional differences are it has a convex head and the blades are angled at 30º vs. 60º and honed to sharpness via "Nano-technology," whatever that is. I've tried the convex head models before, for head shaving I still prefer the conventional foil.

  • but what about the rate of hair loss? Have u noticed it the rate of hair loss quicken up doing all this. Also, have i seen u on Richard and judy a long time ago. I'm from london and u look really familiar. Was u talking about how to be well groomed or something like that?

  • I don't believe the rate of hair loss is affected at all by shaving.

Never been to London (although I'll be there in July for a few days) and I don't even know who Richard and Judy are :-)

  • ok man thnx for clearing that up, enjoy london

  • if i ever start going bald i wont be a donut head. I'll be completely bald!

  • dude you rock, i am not sure whats happening with my hair but i know when i start to tell that i bald then i am gonna so use that!

  • i've been trying to find that razor but all i could find is the pro curve, is that a newer model?

  • 'Pro Curve' is just a marketing line, doesn't really mean anything. For shaving your head you should look for either model ES8077S or ES8043SC.

  • Excellent video! This guy knows what he's talking about.

  • This guy know wat he's doin

  • This guys website is really good. There is a lot of shaving information plus he sells the products he talks about from there as well.
