The Ark of Truth was ok but Continuum was brilliant!!! The storyline was interesting and visual effects were great. This based-on-TV show movie was as great as Babylon 5 and Farscape's films. All the actors/actresses did a wonderful job but Ben Browder, Claudia Black and Michael Shanks were just brilliant!!! I wish creators of TV shows Lexx, Earth: Final Conflict, SeaQuest and The 4400 made movies like this one

This was a much better DVD movie than Arc of Truth. That one was horrible. I had no idea what was going on in that one, and it was boring. This one has a plot and lots of action although their are holes in the story. True, it's just like a 2-part episode of the original series and not really an epic movie, so don't expect the world.

A big hint about the new Stargate tv series in development gets mentioned in Continuum. You just have to watch and pay attention to the dialogue. It's so worth it.

Continuum easily blew Ark of Truth out of the water, actually feeling like a movie this time, and not just another two-parter tv episode thrown together as one like Ark seemed to be.

The timeline was fixed, he stopped Baal before he could screw it up, so it was still Mitchell that was in SG-1, just not the same Mitchell who killed Baal as he was from the alternate timeline.

This is just my opinion, but Continuum was the single most OUTSTANDING Stargate adventure ever made; and I'm counting all 10 seasons of SG-1, all 5 seasons of Atlantis, the original Stargate movie with Kurt Russell and James Spader, the books, EVERYTHING.

Brad Wright, Martin Wood, and Jon Glassner took it to the next level on this one; it could've gone in theaters.

Oh, and not to give anything away but, as great as the whole cast was, Claudia Black stole the show in this one.

From scale 1-10 the ark of truth is about 8.

From scale 1-10 Continuum is about 6-7.

From scale 1-10 Sg-1 serials is about 10.

Saw this recently, and I have to say, as a long term fan of Stargate, this isn't that good a movie. Ark of truth was better. This one, although it does have some good ideas, just seemed to be really boring. Only good things about it were the amazing scenery, that took my breath away when they're in the arctic etc. Otherwise, I'm sorry to say this will be forgotten very quickly. I'm hoping the next one they make is better.

SemTexv2: A high budget does not make a good film necessarily. Reservoir Dogs was shot for very little. If your only interest in film is in films with lots of money behind them then you are missing out. Film is a wonderful medium and more often than not low budget films can make a major impact. Evil Dead kick started a real craze in independent film and Sam Raimi is now a millionaire thanks to a "low $ film". And yes Im a Geek, I live with my Girlfriend and I just had sex. so you stfu!
