@TheRedhunk - it's a VISUALIZATION... hence the name of my channel - "Our Universe Visualized." Proton collisions can't even be seen with the naked eye.

I also heard somewhere that someone(can't remember who) had accelerated a hydrogen particle faster than the speed of light. It was discovered that the hydrogen particle had arrived at it's destination before it had even left. Can someone explain this to me please. I'm a nurse not a physics doctor but have a keen fascination for this stuff. Thank you

@dantheman0798879 - this experiment is not designed to prove religion wrong; instead it's trying to reproduce high energy states in the laboratory that only existed in nature shortly after the formation of the universe. And the "faster than light" experiment refers to very special complex cases where pulses of energy traveling through neutral hydrogen can appear to arrive at a detector faster than expected; however, this is kosher with special relativity as no information was transmitted FTL.
