  • I don't want to be rude but that spotter was HORRIBLE! He was leading her in the absolute wrong direction.

  • Did it only roll once and then went for a wild ride.

  • Does she own that Jeep? If not why was is she driving it down such a narly hill no joke. It is not for the novice. Not a newbie trail at all.

  • Didn't appear to be wearing a seatbelt.. on top of worst spotter ever

  • worst spotting iv ever seen.

  • the spotter should be shot he put her right in the hole

  • @7:15 was copper jeep?

  • Comment removed

  • People are fuckin stupid. To take a short wheel based truck and put it through this type of ground and decline is absolutely retarded. And to also mention about getting your insurance company to pay for damage on this type of stupidity!! The insurance company's should just say........."Not going to cover you for this type of accident!!!

  • @service1956 Most crawlers are short wheel base , but everyone else is wrong and you're so much smarter than everyone else right .?

  • @Concretehead01 It's quite obvious I am a bit smarter then the people that attempt on doing things such as this! Dumb things are recorded and posted here all the time. Crossing open water on snowmobiles, driving up steep hills etc. And then to see paramedics arriving to treat and transport people with serious injuries. To damage vehicles and causing self injury is not........well let's just say, not very bright!!

  • @service1956 Meh different strokes for different folks . I personally love offroading . I can afford the vehicle and repairs if its damaged . I also realise there is danger involved and encourage others to equip thier vehicles with proper safety cages and harness if they are going to be trying extreme trail riding . I'm always more worried on a highway or driving in the city than I ever am on the trail .

  • Jaja white people are so fucking dumb lol

  • I have driven Jeeps since 1986 and why people feel compelled to do stupid things like this in the name of fun is beyond me.

I buy my Jeeps to drive, not to wreck and kill myself or others.

    Idiots.

  • @macman1138 You are aware Jeeps were created as offroad vehicles . As to why we do this for fun . Because it is fun . Now go polish your Jeep so the other mall crawler wannabes can admire it sitting still.

  • @Concretehead01

    Yes I will.

And I will have it 10 to 12 years, spending very little money on it whilst fools like you, roll them, wreck them and spend what little money they do make patching them up.

Seems that you are unaware of that.

    Fool.

  • @macman1138 My Tj runs great has almost 300000 on it . Its not wreck . its 14 yrs old and a daily driver . I can afford the repairs with what "little " I make . so whos the unaware fool . Must be the idiot making assumptions .

  • @Concretehead01 Dear fool,

I have been driving Jeeps since 1986 and I have the tendency of taking care of my property.

Call me all the names you want to, I don't care.

  • @macman1138 Obviously I take care of mine too . And who's the one calling names first . Seems to me you like to dish it out but not take it . I just pointed out all your points were invalid , my jeep works and plays , looks great , runs great . You came on to insult and bash folks for doing things you personally enjoy, then resort to name calling like some grade 5 twit .

  • @Concretehead01 Opps I meant don't enjoy .

  • I dont understand. The driver was doing so well when they were listening to the spotter. Then the spotter was telling the driver to go passenger, and the Jeep bounced down, and everyone was going ohhhh! Was the spotter not telling them to stop or was it a miscommunication? It looks like the spotter was saying take it passenger then turn hard driver, but the driver didnt do that and kept going, not stopping when the Jeep was getting tippy. Hope she is ok.

  • the jeep looks like it survived that well

  • Absolutely loooove the screams in the slow motion scene, hilarious.

  • @bluefordpickup me too!

  • Why did he tell her to turn back toward that high mound...? Seemed much better where she was headed.. :-/

  • No seatbelt.

    Total. Freaking. MORON!

  • looks like the spotter here is f*@#ing retarded!!!!! my one year old can spot better than that!!!!!

  • @dragonrider1985

Don't forget the idiot behind the wheel too.

  • Comment removed

  • I blame the spotter. Driver couldnt see the trench the spotter guided her into.

  • another question when back on four wheels , why not apply the brakes or try to move the steering wheel to point tires down hill just some logic to add

  • was she not wearing her seatbelt ?

  • that spotter...i blame him

  • Apparently the park rangers are better drivers, they made out there in their jeep :)

  • thats easy!!.. bet you they were beginners cuz the lead man didnt know what the hell he was doing

  • Did that "spotter" actually tell her to cut right at 1:45?! WTF was he thinking?! Thank god she had the where with all to cut the wheels left when she came out of the roll. Otherwise she would have continued to roll otherwise the rest of the way down. BTW that nose dive she did at the end really should have deployed the air bags.

  • A lift kit on that jeep with sway bar disconnects could have helped a ton, glad everyone is okay.

  • I have been filming 4x4 events for years and have seen the best spotters and drivers in action. Her instinct to turn drivers side was right on the money! The spotter caused this accident by telling her to turn passenger side.

  • spotter drove her right in to it she is slightly to blame but the spotter should never spot again

  • Been down in it in a Jeep; the right side is much easier. Pitiful display of wheeling Female drivers- no survivors. Did she hit a guy at the bottom of the hill?

  • dumbest spotter ever and driver, but i blam the spotter.

  • If you ever say im not sure i can do this but i have seen the vehicle do it.....it's too much for you.

  • OMG, This whole thing starts to go wrong at 1:48 into this decent. The spotter is way off the mark with guiding her down this very difficult run. The spotters directions totally suck and he has a huge part to play in this accident. Thank God she wasn't killed. I feel that this is the spotter's fault. She is going very slow and could have pulled it off.

  • wow amazing video, thanks for sharing. ....and glad the lady is all better :) I give her props for the balls to go down that thing!....and making it.....really....until the fatal miscommunication :-/ crazy stuff.....well ya take risks and once in a while you're in unknown overextended territory and ya tweak a neck and scratch some paint.....I'll take that life-worth-living over our safety-neurotic nerf-nation every day! Americans gotta live free or they're gonna go soft and extinct.

  • wow amazing video, thanks for sharing. ....and glad the lady is all better :) I give her props for the balls to go down that thing!....and making it.....really....until the fatal miscommunication :-/ crazy stuff.....well ya take risks and once in a while you're in unknown overextended territory and ya tweak a neck and scratch some paint.....I'll take that life-worth-living over our over-regulated, dumbed-down nerf-nation every day! Americans gotta live or they're gonna go soft and extinct.

  • And also, frickin idiot wan't listening to his spotter at all. Just wanted to get that out there. lol

  • We did this hill in our Jeep. Im not gonna go into details about it, but you can go to my channel and see vids of it. It's pretty souped up. Anyway, we went down, and on that first little dip. we did a grill stand. Almost went over. This trail and hill is for very expirienced drivers, not one for the rookies. Please listen to this advice and don't try it unless you think you have the expirience. Please thumb up so everyone can see. I don't want someone rolling out there. It's way to remote.

  • The spotter caused that Fall..Hope He can live with himself!!

  • sure hope the jeep was ok.. poor thing

  • y the fark did the spotter tell her to go up the bank like that??

  • spotters fault, she was fine where she was positioned, then he puts her over to the far side which lifter her right wheel on the banking while her left dropped into a hole.

Wtf was that useless spotter thinking?

  • Spotter didn't know what the he'll he was doing!

  • That's some funny shit

  • Women drive no wounder

  • My tax dollars hard at work...be an idiot, take as many risks as you want, don't be prepared or experienced, crash your Jeep in the middle of no where, and then call 911 so the tax payers can pay for your stupid ass mistakes...it's getting harder and harder to weed out the idiots because 911 and cell phones are making the Darwin Theory become less likely.

  • @YourDrunkinSisters read Darwin Theory before you quote it you idiot.

  • What a dumb bitch, could you have taken a worse line? No, you could have not....

  • Someone tell that bitch to shut the fuck up!

  • way to go spotter

  • Call 911 ,shut the fuck up! don't take your bitches to these things. That spotter was an asshole for making him steer up that bank

  • pretty stupid driving not like you can feeel it.rising high on the riight hand side

  • That spotter is a real asshole, he told her to drive up the uphill side, while she was already leaning to the drivers side, if she turned driver she would have come down nice and level.

  • useless as spotter, but u would think she would have known a bit better 2, a bit of experience would have gone a long way...

  • Just got back from Anza Borrego Last Weekend, the lady in the crash has fully recovered and showed up with a brand new Rubicon ( She Skipped Heart Attack Hill for this time)

    Thanks for the Camera comment.

  • One more thing, congratulations to the cameramen, excellent video

  • @shishetube

    Thanks for the Camera commen

  • I have done this hill 4 times twice in each direction; I have pictures on Dirtopia together with another Rubicon that rolled there. She was doing a great job; the spotter is the one to blame. He has no clue how to give directions or how to position himself. If anything different I would stop until spotter is in position and not drive blind into holes and bumps. I wish for her fully recuperation and I encourage her to continuo with this beautiful sport

  • ahahahaha what a dumb dyke ahahahahaha

  • I wonder if that guy will spot for me

  • Get rid of the Harley Davidson I'm sure you have in the garage too.

  • Soooo is there any chance I could get the D44's out of that thing since you have no idea what you're doing? I hope you recover well and soon, and I seen that you're planning on courses and that's great, I would just love to have the money to waste on a New Rubicon with NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING! I'm just saying.. RIP Rubicon RIP.

  • If you all watched the vid close after the first roll the driver was upsidedown in the drivers seat so the thing is no seat belt no control of the vehicle this is a classic case of inexperience on both the driver and the spotter and this is what the ecoterrorist use to close our deserts down just remember seat belts do work they keep you planted in the seat so dont bash the old farts out there because i know a lot of old farts that will run circles around you younger people so be safe

  • Comment removed

  • wow.... just wow.... i thought she had it after the first roll. im really glad she is ok and that she is planning on getting another jeep. this just show how safe a jeep really is. i do think the spotter could have done better. on a hill like that the more spotters the better. i swear she wouldn't have survived. but again wow... just wow!!!

  • I vauklt the spotter for 50 percent of the rollover. The other 50 to the idiot with the Rubicon.

  • LOL,funny how the spotter is getting some shit.what a twat he is.

  • I would sue that stupid spotter

  • stupid spotter

  • who let 50 senior citizens take a stock wrangler wheeling? probably the most stupid people i have ever seen

  • that is the worlds worse spotter and it does not help that she is a shitty driver , she should just get a honda civic

  • First off I hope she recovered from that experience, both physically and mentally. as 4WDTRD said, EXPERIENCED SPOTTER IS A MUST!!! i'm sorry but that guy "appeared" to be pointing to the right of the jeep and she followed.. I am very familiar with the trails in Anza Borrego and that is not a place to learn how to 4 wheel drive. Good luck in your future adventures! SAFETY 1ST!!!!!...

  • who was that idiot spotting. he looked like he was conducting a symphony and she did not know which way to go cus that idiot was waving his hand in the air. what an idiot i bet he feel s klike a real cunt right about now. luck she did not die.

  • and another advocate for "women drivers no survivors"

  • At least it didn't happen at the first ledge. The "spotter" would have been killed due to his poor position on the hill. A spotter should always have a safe way out ie. above or beside the vehicle (Vehicles rarely roll uphill).

  • What a horrible spotter. Doesn't help when your spotter is flailing around like a funky chicken.

  • hard trail in-experienced driver bad spotter. hope they recover.

  • she was using her seat belt?

  • who is the moron who told her to turn that way on the cliff

    it is all his fault

  • It is difficult to feel sorry for anyone who knowingly puts their self in this position. The "spotter"(if that's what he was doing) should be brought up on charges for attempted murder... lol But the driver was obviously clueless.

So where were all the other off road vehicles? Who were all the old people? Rest home field trip or what?

  • If the spotter and or driver is inexperienced in that choose a different obstacle course.

We all started there anyway at some point in our lives, but I am glad she is ok and stay safe out there

  • Poor Poor example of a spotter !!

  • Worst spotting ever!!! At 1:40 the driver starts turning the wheels driver and she was 100% correct but the spotter tells her to go passenger....FAIL on the spotters part.

  • Worst spotting ever!!!

  • AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

  • przynajmniej szybciej zjechał

  • funnt ass shit.

  • yea why would you hit the breaks and shift alllll the weight forward when going DOWN... idk but doesnt seem like a good idea. and take some lesons or just stay home and build a better jeep...

  • Personally I would say that the spotter was clearly not very good at what he was doing. I would, however, also say that, while you must trust your spotter, ultimately you are the one behind the wheel. If the spotter tells me something I don't like then I do not do what he tells me.

Not sure if she could have, but simply gunning the gas when that back end started to come up would have likely kept her on the rubber. (would still have been a fast trip down though)

  • Really, really bad spotting! Bad driving also.

  • On the bright side thats a damm strong jeep, I notice alot of people slagging her off and don't get me wrong you are correct in some ways, but I take my hat off to anyone who takes that hill on.

  • maybe next time take into consideration..... that a fat old retarded man with absolutley no cordination whats so ever would not be a very good canndidate for a spotter woooow nothing but his fault... feel bad for her..

  • spotter: turn right down into the gully, so we can get your center of gravity really high and over to the left. This guy doesn't even resemble any 4 wheelin spotter I've ever seen. Moral- crawl before you walk.

  • I totally agree with bluefordpickup on this one 100% and let me add on how the dumb bastards hooked up a tow rope to keep it from flipping again. really? I hate you guys.

  • retard......

  • your spotter is ur eyes. this guy did a lot of things wrong. full wishes for the driver to make a full recovery.

  • LOL! Typical "Jeeper" morons. Slap on some 32" ATs and wear a boonie hat and they are ready to take on the world. I love the screaching old women. BWAAAAAAAAKKK BWWWAAAKK!

  • 3:36 Turn wheel to left problem solved

  • I don't care if they do roll, Jeeps are not safer than a Volvo or a BMW ..

  • Spotters are for the weak.

  • @ebzona Spotters are for the weak ??

what , you got 20/20 vision with eyeballs wrapped around your mellon ??

You obliviously haven't trailed where another set of experienced eyes (that see what you cannot) is not only helpful but necessary to negotiate the obstacle ..

  • danm that jeep didnt even look all that fucked up afterwards

  • This is why women shouldn't drive, especially old one's like this one. It's too bad the stupid old guy didn't get smashed by the jeep, what a dumb azz. Why is the idiot holding the spare tire after the roll? Why are there so many old bastards out there? Old dumb azz if you are reading this please go visit the idiot driver while she's in her wheel chair and spot her going down a flight of stairs.

  • @bluefordpickup

Hey I'm an "Old bastard" you gonna show me how to wheel sonny ? lol

You are half right that other "old bastard" spotting has no business doing so. But your blanket statement about "whats all those old bastards doing out there anyway" is pretty ignorant, no worries I was ignorant when I was young too !!

  • @4WDTRD1

    Thin wrinkled skin, huh gradpa?

  • It's not 4 wheeling unless you roll it twice.. Nice!! Oh and just tip. When ever you feel the vehicle become unbalanced ( you will know this when your butt starts to pucker ) aim your tires in the derection that will most level your vehicle. Kinna like turning into the skid if your on snow.. But in this case its a roll over..

  • stupid people

  • 3 problems.

    1. inexperienced driver. not saying she is terrrible, jsut i would have gotten some practice before doing that.

    2. bad spotter. that guy is a fuckign retard and should have been on the other side to see that hole.

    3. wear some protective gear

  • that jeep was at its limits

  • the guy in blue is so fucking stupid!

  • A disaster waiting to happen, rookie driver on a down hill trail that looks to me its for experienced 4 wheelers & requires an EXPERIENCED SPOTTER, people, your spotter is YOUR EYES to the trail & you have to trust them for direction , I'm sorry but the spotter here is as lost as the driver & with the confusing flailing of his hands I can't figure out if hes giving direction or waving goodbye with both hands, But they both are at fault, more the spotter than driver neither belong on that trail

  • @4WDTRD1 totally agree with you she probaly would of been fine if the spotter wouldnt had send her to much to one side that just killed the balance for the limited suspension jeep. anyway hope she is ok

  • Idiot driver and idiot newb spotter. Hope she makes a full recovery and surrounds herself with people that are more safe and significantly more knowledgeable regarding the sport.

  • For Sale: Jeep Wrangler -Cheap!

  • Moron driver and even bigger moron spotter. The spotter should face criminal charges for being such an asshat and being the DIRECT CAUSE of the incident. I hope the poor girl makes a full recovery. He should have NEVER told her to turn passenger, there was NO reason for it. It's people and accidents like this that give our beloved sport a bad name.

  • @evilwhitey98 Spot on...!

  • That spotter should take most if not all the responsibility of that tragedy. HE alone directed her up the hill causing the rollover. If he lost his footing, he should have yelled at her to stop until he was repositioned. But watching him spot from the beginning he should never have been doing it in the first place. I hope he feels bad as well as he should take full responsibility on that. A good spotter would never let a novice like her down a trail like that WITHOUT WEARING A SEAT BELT!!!

  • Oh and even tho the spotter was not very good, the driver is the one in control of the vehicle and its the drivers job to question the spotter and say "This doesn't feel right" I have on numerous times told my spotters my suspension is gonna unload soon and I'm gonna go over. An experienced spotter knows what that looks like. This woman had MULTIPLE oportunities to stop this roll over and then again (assuming her back wasn't broke yet) after the first tumble.

  • She's lucky she didn't roll down the whole thing and the Jeep was on its wheels for the better portion of the trail. Wranglers while having roll bars are not meant for continuous barrel rolls and are prone to failure in violent rollovers. Id bet my left nut she doesn't have a full cage in that thing which is upgrade NUMBER ONE for anybody who rockcrawls with their vehicle. I hope shes alright and finds an experienced group of wheelers to teach her and not the saturday morning mallcrawlers.

  • Unreal. Newbie driver, driving a Jeep capabable beyond her abilites (most drivers build and grow with their rigs), in the wrong gear, making poor decisions (she probably didn't know anybetter). She was on a trail that she didn't belong on with what looks to be a decent chance of a rollover happening. Being spotted by a newbie spotter that doesn't even know the cardinal rule of being down slope of the rig you are spotting (he should have been on the side of the jeep.

  • NO! What was she doing? Gosh, that looked like it hurt.

  • Like the blind leading the blind.... I hope she has a full recovery. On the other hand he should feel bad. He has no clue how to spot someone and neither did any one else there because if they did they would have stepped up and stepped in. We welcome new people to the hobby and sport of what we do but they get taught the ropes by a qualified person called a sponsor. ....Happy trails.....

  • Just claim it on Insurance

  • What gear was she in btw? Sure doesn't look like 1, 4LO.

  • Thankfully shes still alive...... added this one to my collection of "What not to do videos" Have to agree, that is some of the lousiest spotting I've seen. Hand signals are the worst to use since the driver can't watch where they are going at the same time. Then again I really didn't see much signaling, just a bunch of needless arm waving. Reminds me of the Hell's gate Moab video........

  • Even though the spotter wasn't spotting at the time, the driver is a fucking dumbass for not knowing he was going to flop his rig, and gave it gas instead of backing up. Stupid. Oh, and was he wearing his seatbelt?

  • @09ThunderOne Yes she was wearing her seatbelt, And the driver is indeed noob and should not have been on this trail. When it rolled she likely blacked out and adrenelin starts pumping and decision making is quickly impaired. (Speaking by exsperience, Rolled completly over a 8foot rock ledge into a creak bed)

  • Good God, I'm glad she's ok!

  • nasty, glad to hear she is ok, she is very lucky, though!

  • Anyone know where I can get a slightly used jeep

  • I thought she had it when it landed back on four wheels the first flip.

At first it looked like she'd be able to land on all fours. Must have been wishful thinking.

What a story this will be for her. Best wishes to her and a speedy recovery.

Is she planning to go wheelin again after this?

Any footage of the recovery on the Jeep?

  • @7SlotFever

Yes, She is planning to purchase a new Jeep Rubicon 4 door, but will have a whole new respect for the sport, she and several friends will take some classes before taking on a trip like this one.

The old jeep is totaled, but I drove it out and back to camp ( lots of noise) barely made it.

  • No seat belt? THAT is stupid. You always, ALWAYS, wear your seat belt. Inexperience and a terrible spotter. Sorry. Glad to hear she is recovering okay. Sad.

  • Poor spotting IMHO, the Jeep took a terrible line to the right and threw itself sufficiently off camber to roll. Just by watching, a line to the left would have been a far better choice. Glad the driver will be OK.

  • she was not taking notice of the spotter, that never needed to happen

  • inexperienced driver and spotter. You don't start your 1st run on a hill like that. Jeeps are only capable as their drivers. hope every makes a full recovery. Does not even look like the tires were air downed to help with grip and no sliders on the jeep as we

  • The worse part is everyone is freaking out. It's essential to remain CALM and think CLEARLY. Not having the seatbelt on is the worse part.

  • It's a KED (kendrick extrication device) not a KID. Yes it is mostly the spotters fault then the drivers. The driver should have stopped once the incompentent spotter started swatting bugs instead of directing. Glad nobody died... Good job to the SO

  • That had to be the World's Worst Spotter!! He is fully to blame.

  • Those CHIPS did a good job. I wish the best.

  • 1:48 time. She should turn LEFT.

  • Comment removed

  • 100% the spotters fault. He should feel terrible. The driver felt the need for a spotter and its the spotters job to guide!

  • Sorry someone got hurt, but I bet the driver would have been less hurt if she was wearing her seatbelt.

I am guilty of not wearing my belt on the flats while out on the trail, but a hill like heart attack, get real and put that ish on.

  • I have nothing to add except good wishes for the folks in the Jeep, hopefully they are OK and doing well.

  • @AlpineTribe

Thank you, She will be OK, but her back will take a year to heal proper.

  • Well I believe this is all the spotters fault, along with driver error to even listen to such a poor spotter. This spotter is dangerous and could have killed someone. Very poor spotting, wrong position to even spot someone. Fine example of what a spotter is there to prevent. Never let this person spot again !!!!!!!

  • glad to see that cage did a good job. Could have been much worse. I have never taken the right path (looking down). Only do the left.

  • Know your Spoter, Know your Lines, Know your limitations. Ugh! I can't describe how many things frustrate me about this video. Namely the person who made it adding the ominous Jaws-like music to the video. This isn't a feature film. This is someone's life! Highly tacky!

  • @shanlw99 Couldn't agree with you more. It wasn't only the spoter that made terrible decisions but also the driver's fault. First of all is not wearing a seatbelt, at every outing my group has strict rules about these things that can get you kicked out. Next is that an inexperienced driver shouldn't be taking the lead, it should be an experienced driver and the rest of the drivers should watch so they know what to expect. Last is that no one spoke out when it was obviously going bad.

  • that is in no way a difficult section, going up or down. is that thing trail rated? only in a jeep. lol. glad she's recovering, but i hope a lesson was learned here by everyone that was there. no offense to newbies, but don't let another newbie tell you what to do on the trail.

  • Please do not blame the spotter or anyone else. If you are taking a 4 wheel drive vehicle out for certain runs - it is up to the driver of that vehicle to know their and the vehicles limations. We are sorry someone got hurt - but take the responsibility for your own actions. I have owned and ran a '73 Ford Bronco for over 30 years. I do not take anyones directions. Both bronco and I are in one piece and we have tried many 'trails' such as this one.

  • @cemyers1729 I agree that the spotter shouldn't have to take the full blame. Though it is a bad thing that inexperienced drivers do is that they rely on their spotters heavily. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself then you should probably not do it at all, even with a spotter.

  • LOL Jeeps!!

Was the spotter Michael J. Fox? The driver should have stopped until she had eye contact with the spotter(even though he sucked donkey balls). Next time drive a Hummer.

  • @DRTYFN Lets not make lite of someone with that disorder....

  • @DRTYFN Then we would be watching a video of a hummer rolling down a hill and most likely clip someone on the way down due to size. It doesn't matter what you drive when your inexperienced. If anything driving a hummer would cause more problems as the drivers feel more confident. Your rig should match your experience.
