other people putting up rhythm game videos that they don't have permission to put up are essentially playing russian roulette with their account: eventually, they will be hit by copyright, unfortunately.

videos I put up 3+ years ago got hit for copyright this year: it's just a matter of time.

rhythm games are still my favorite genre of gaming and i'd love to make more rock band and guitar hero videos, but there's less than 3 bands that have given me permission to make videos of their charts/music, and on top of that, my drumkit's literally in two pieces due to a neighbor.

1) channels are linked on youtube: you get one channel banned, you get them all banned

2) doing this would be seen as skirting youtube policies purposefully and would make me ten times more susceptible to being banned on both accounts

Oddly enough, this would probably prevent such users from uploading a recording in even some store - where Beast and the Harlot is playing in the background (when they had no choice). Yes, I really think it could be that severe.

The best explanation is that if a video gets automatically Content ID'ed by YouTube, it's going to be manually disabled by a YouTube admin within a week, and many uploaders who do find a video is disabled regardless decide to audioswap.

That's probably why many other users still get away with it, unless the video is listed for automatic takedown. If Azurite was hit by an automatic takedown, he probably wasn't the only one.
