I have never heared something more ardently than Judy´s songs. Got tears in my eyes every time I hear her. It is evident what her feelings are while she is singing, and the strength to go through all of this, but not enough to make it at the end. Oh Judy, you´ll always be a special star for us..
@sugiyamasakura1212 That is not a nice thing to say because Judy had a large gay following and that is not polite as a matter of fact the rainbow colors and rainbow flag that is associated with homosexual such as in gay parades is in honor of Miss Judy Garland in reference to her most famous song Over The Rainbow from her most famous movie The Wizard Of Oz so that is not polite to say and use the term gay in a derogatory sense, her daughter Liza Minnelli is a gay icon as well.
@jaytlr9 Well your'e welcome, I just had to keep it real, Judy I love her she was fantastic, she had/has a large gay following the gay rainbows is because of Judy, the term friend of Dorothy is associated with her and her daughter Liza is a gay icon as well, I love Judy so much she is like my Michael Jackson or Elvis she was the greatest entertainer of the 20th century and an great underrated actress, she will always have a place in my heart and has a lot of sentimental value to me.
The actress in the hat is the fabulous Mary Astor - amazing how, in the same film, they had the actress with the greatest speaking voice and the actress with the greatest singing voice. Listen to me, folks. Talent like this is GONE -- no arguments please -- you will never see talent like this again -- it's actually sad.
I love you judy , you move me like no one can move me , you touch me like no one can touch me, and you please me like no one can please me, i'll meet you again i hope
Judy is the only performer I've seen in film that can bring tears to my eyes with a song. She acts out her lyrics better than anybody I have ever seen.
@MrWarners14 - I think he is Freddie Bartholomew, who was another 1930's child star (David Copperfield, Little Lord Fauntleroy, et al.) But yes - now that you mention it - resembles Shia LaBoeuf.
mgm had an image of beauty they wanted in all their female leads. they succeeded (in their eyes) in changing judy. thay attempted the same thing with Shirley Temple during the few years she worked for them. her body resisted all their attempts.
Before the drugs started to take hold. Raw talent being groomed by the studios. I am glad they did but in a way, I am sad the did. I beleive what made her a star was her ability to bring out the emotion of a song.
Judy is so beautiful. If she wasn't forced to lose weight and still looked the way she does in this video, she would've been more convincing as a 12-year old girl when she played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.
and to think that MGM thought of her as a "Fat little monster" and forced her to eat chicken broth for lunch every day. she was perfect the way she was and they should have recognized her for her talent. RIP Judy Garland.
and to think that MGM thought of her as a "Fat little monster" and forced her to eat chicken broth for lunch every day. she was perfect the way she was and they should have recognized her for her talent. RIP Judy Garland.
@3rdbase04 Judy Garland was naturally beautiful, but MGM gave her a bit of a touch up to make her appear even more beautiful in their movies, including making her lose weight, and reshaping her nose and teeth.
Judy is one of the only singers I have heard who captivates me with the first syllable out of her mouth... it's hard to describe what it is about her voice but it's so pleasant
What a voice love it makes me cry she lived in the spotlight from the start of her short life. She never really got to enjoy it she took it where she got it. Happy she had some fun that voice takes me back
The first time i saw this, I almost cried. This song was soo sweet and soo good. I wish that Judy was still alive to see all of her fans that missed her dearly, espacially her children, Liza, Lorna, and Joey. ='(
@katiekannibal23 There's always a comment like this. They're so old. Especially because Miley Cyrus isn't popular anymore, and just about every older song has a comment on it about Justin Bieber.
@katiekannibal23 She was 15 here since it was 1938, because when it was 1939 she was in Wizard Of Oz, in the movie she was 16. ( I watched a interview on her and they said she was only 16). NP, :)
@LilNancyy16 Very talented? Are you fucking kidding me? Every single one of his songs is autotuned as fuck. This right here? This is real, true talent.
@NoMoreBubbleGum1 I get tired of reading these attempts to deride young people. There have always been beautiful and talented people; and, for as long as there are humans, there always will be. Therefore, why should anyone be surprised that Judy, lovely as she was, was 16 in this clip. While I like music from my teens, I also like it from long before and since; for example, I love Kid Ory and Fats Waller, but I also love Gary Barlow. Why not try opening your mind, NMBG. You might enjoy it.
Judy at her absolute zenith!
