@2the9s1 If you think the show may not be for kids, consider the comic books themselves! The themes in the original comics are very very contemporary and serious. Marvel's version of this is their "Civil War" series, with the heroes lining up either with the government or against it, when the government begins to infringe on the civil rights of the people (not unlike the real world).
@2the9s1 That's the best thing about this show. anyone can watch it. It teaches the viewer lessons, but without the ham-handed morals that cartoons back in the day used to have at the end. Justice League doesn't treat kids like they're idiots.
Thanks for uploading these. I found JLU to be some of the best written television of the past ten years. It was dismissed by "serious" people as children's fare but the themes and ideas are often very sophisticated. These episodes in particular, which question the nature of power are very interesting.
When Superman leaves, Professor Hamilton starts breathing heavily. Is that from relief that the alien superpower threat was gone, or was it regret for what he did?
Elsewhere I answered a post asking WHY the purpose of aglets(shoe-lace tips) is synister. Aglets plastic have a chemical that when contacting finger-tips this chemical is absorbed into the skin & over time the blood-stream. "Next time? Go to the bathroom before we go on a mission." Half the lines are delivered that way. Statement uttered as a question, followed by the second half of the statement uttered as a statement.
@adgthandthelionking5 the voice actor for the question is the same guy who does the voice for ratchet on transformers: prime. Season 2 of transformers: prime doesn't come out until february 2012 and it just nice to hear a familiar voice. :)
Omfg Lois, Superman just saved the world again and set up a picnic for you, and all you can do is whine about how he isn't doing quite a good enough job. Go fall in a hole.
@travkeyes if they both play optimally at least jhon-o wouldn't lose, cuz he can become untargetable and invisible, but i don't think he could damage superman unless he got sum kryptonite, and superman is faster so if he has kryptonite supermancould just run like the wind.

@1SirCarlton Hate to dis-appoint, but look closely: first Q pulls a switch on Huntess(later he is viewing privately), She, not catching the switch, puts the dummy disc in the front(tummy-location{pant-pant}-) utility pouch. At a glance, it tantalizes the eye & its implied that Huntress will be making Q work(a-hem) for the disc.
@TheVoiceOfReason93 in Superman TAS, darkseid took control of superman and made him attack earth and as a result the gov't had it out for superman and supergirl (by association). Kara was badly injured and when superman was freed from darkseid's control he took Kara to hamilton. Because of everything that happened, Hamliton was unsure if he should help but Supe's basically threatened him into helping her.
Supes claims Hamilton violated his trust, but Hamilton is saying that supes did it first.
@BlackMetalShayne Except it wasn't his job. Hamilton pointed out helping supergirl could have been considered an act of treason; and that can carry heavy penalties. in a sense he would be placing his life at serious risk, which is asking a lot for someone who isn't a superhero.
@KudokuMaoh Rorschach's character actually originated from the Question. Because DC didn't want Alan Moore to kill off the characters of Watchmen, they insisted that he change them, sparing the question and the other original characters the fates that befell their copy-cat counterparts.
hmm, I wonder if batman and question, were in a detective contest to see who could solve mysteries fastest, who would win. in my opionion question would totally beat batman.
I do actually partially agree with the bad guys; anyone in a real-life scenario where there was an army of superhuman, some so powerful they're near omnipotence (like Superman, which I detest because he's so unrealistic) freelancing would feel the same;
@bbphnix Even though they've used this omnipotence to save countless millions and our planet a few hundred times over? I think they earned the benefit of the doubt.
Captain Atom why oooohhhhh why....cant anybody understand ....put darksaide & every other villan..and hero against Superman....and Superman would still be the winner.....only one man can stop Superman and That is BATMAN...
For anyone who wants a little background on what Darkseid did to Supes, his attack on earth, him threatening Dr Harding, etc., check out Superman TAS episode Legacy 1&2. It'll explain a lot, since the episodes are VERY heavily referenced in several episodes of JLU.
@friendlycakeasaurus I found that shocking too but it is nice that they had consequences to actions, even more so they did continuity BETWEEN series..Super-man went rogue because of some kind of mind control deployed by Darkseid and there were many in Metropolis that either don't believe his story about mind control or simply can't forgive super-man even if it was because of mind control. That's real and that's what I LOVED about this series.
@Parkjisung91 uhmm you just faced down a man that is capable of lifting Metropolis on a bad day! I would be sweating bullets too if I pissed him off.I wish I could get a hold of the episode that Hamilton mentioned about Super-man bringing in Super-girl for medical treatment and apparently rough handling Hamilton.I've never seen it.
@Parkjisung91 The most powerful being on the planet, capable of bench pressing an oil tanker while reading a book sitting on the moon, was pissed off and shouting in your face from 2 inches away. How would you react?
Even the greatest fan of Question has to admit he made a mistake in this episode. If you want to kill someone and suceed at it, do it from a distance. Question should have shot Luthor if he wanted him dead. Not sure if it would have worked considering Brainiac, but at least Q would have had a chance to escape.
@DavidbarZeus1 I think half the point was that he didn't plan on escaping. He wanted people to know he did this off his own bat, then little blame would fall on the League. If he just ran it would be logical for the League-Haters to assume they had it arranged. I think he also assumed he would be able to beat Luthor, given that he's apparently trained in martial arts and Luthor is SUPPOSED to be just a normal businessman.
@TheWhyteRayven Also, although 'rhaphiikii2' has provided a lot of JLU vids, I find that 'wizmp' provides all of the episodes that I mentioned (Flashpoint, etc.) at a higher resolution (480 pixels instead of the 240 or 360); also the sound on the rhaphiikii2 version of Flashpoint is really bad.
I think the episode "Epilogue" is a Batman Beyond crossover story
I love this show. Its one the few superhero cartoon shows where it doesn't alienate older veiwers. Hell Im a die hard fan of Marvel and I still love this show and that says alot.
My only complaint is that they never called him "Vic". I would have made the hospital scene with Helena and Q so much better. Regardless, the Question is BAMF!
@Trexmaster12 no she is not check the ep where she tried to kill her parents killer. The Huntress where she is Batman's daughter is from another universe
@Trexmaster12 no. she's not related to him at all. well, in the comic books, there's a version of her that IS Batman's biological daughter but that's another story.
@Trexmaster12 I think there were 3 women who used the persona "The Huntress." One of those women was the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, but that was on an alternate Earth.
@the0amazing0joe Answer: Huntress' costume stripes are NOT related to the Justice Lords. Why? Her stripes are crossed as in The Holy Cross. The design became less obvious over time, but when Helena Bartelinni 1st became the Huntress, she incorperated Holy Cross symbology into her costume to reflect her Italian Catholic heritige. This designe was not part of the original 70s-80s Huntress of 'Earth-2', daughter of that universe's Batman & Catwoman from the 40s-late 60s. CRISIS changed all that.
@Velocity9s Short answer: yes, it is a coincidence, and I knew that. But it's not a coincidence to the Question. ;D (It is a joke, in case you missed it.)
Is it even possible to keep a secret from Question? Seems like he knows everything! Even Batman i heard said he sometimes thinks Q is a better detective than him! And hes Batman!! Dang...
@Bottery Then we've come full circle; Rorschach was originally based on the Question, who in turn was the inspiration for DCAU Question. Cosmic aint it?
@Leto2ndAtreides But like Luthor and he was dead fucking right on this one: Superman's got too much ego. As in too much rightous bullshit to be the "hero"
@mega48man Someone who creates dangerous superbeings is a more than minor threat to the world. If Supes thought it was justified to take him down - he wouldn't necessarily be wrong to do it.
@Leto2ndAtreides Malevolence is what separates Superman from his justice lord counter-part. Or if you really want a malevolent kryptonian you should look up his OTHER evil counterpart "Ultra Man"
a soldier serves a goverment and a goverment IS EVIL and only keeps us under they're thumb to feed them our hard earned money. but a hero is a liberator and a true protector that stands up for all of our human not just the limited rights we have when we're young (which IS absolutly wrong and injust) rights regardless of AGE, RACE, COLOR OF ANY PHYSICAL FEATURE, PHYSICAL OR MENTALL TRAITS or NATIONALITY.
@Navesblue While I agree that a hero transcends race, religion or sex, Captain Adam HAD to follow his orders as a soldier. Legitimate orders from the government cannot be ignored. While soldiers make helpful 'interpertations' of these orders, a soldier who does not follow orders is a liability to himself, those around him, and the people he has sworn to protect.
Besides, often times, an order obeyed saves lives. "Advance, covering fire," are given by men with the bigger picture in front of them
I dont think a show like this, is for kids right?

Is Huntress supposed to be Batman's daughter from another universe or world?

@Trexmaster12 no she is not check the ep where she tried to kill her parents killer. The Huntress where she is Batman's daughter is from another universe
begley2015 1 year ago
@Trexmaster12 no. she's not related to him at all. well, in the comic books, there's a version of her that IS Batman's biological daughter but that's another story.
sarutobifreak 1 year ago
@Trexmaster12 I think there were 3 women who used the persona "The Huntress." One of those women was the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, but that was on an alternate Earth.

is it just me or does Doc Hamiilton look like he's about to have a heart attack?
tokunaga432 1 year ago
Huntress = not part of the League.
Huntress = wears stripes like the Justice Lords.
IS IT A COINCIDENCE?
That is the Question.
the0amazing0joe 1 year ago 25

Geez, I'm picking up super Rorschach vibes in the 2nd part. Now I see where he came from. The Question is awesome.
Bottery 1 year ago
@Bottery Then we've come full circle; Rorschach was originally based on the Question, who in turn was the inspiration for DCAU Question. Cosmic aint it?

In situations like this you really wish Supes had more malevolence. That doc needed to be crushed like a bug.
Leto2ndAtreides 1 year ago 72
@Leto2ndAtreides But like Luthor and he was dead fucking right on this one: Superman's got too much ego. As in too much rightous bullshit to be the "hero"
Torchmark 1 year ago
@Leto2ndAtreides that'd make superman no better than him
mega48man 8 months ago
@mega48man Someone who creates dangerous superbeings is a more than minor threat to the world. If Supes thought it was justified to take him down - he wouldn't necessarily be wrong to do it.
Leto2ndAtreides 8 months ago
@Leto2ndAtreides Malevolence is what separates Superman from his justice lord counter-part. Or if you really want a malevolent kryptonian you should look up his OTHER evil counterpart "Ultra Man"
gravehart2002 7 months ago
@Leto2ndAtreides: This is why you need Wolverine on the JLA. We'll work out that pesky Marvel/DC issue later.

In the beginning, Supes is drinking juice. Can juice even withstand his Super Digestion?

a soldier serves a goverment and a goverment IS EVIL and only keeps us under they're thumb to feed them our hard earned money. but a hero is a liberator and a true protector that stands up for all of our human not just the limited rights we have when we're young (which IS absolutly wrong and injust) rights regardless of AGE, RACE, COLOR OF ANY PHYSICAL FEATURE, PHYSICAL OR MENTALL TRAITS or NATIONALITY.
Navesblue 1 year ago
@Navesblue While I agree that a hero transcends race, religion or sex, Captain Adam HAD to follow his orders as a soldier. Legitimate orders from the government cannot be ignored. While soldiers make helpful 'interpertations' of these orders, a soldier who does not follow orders is a liability to himself, those around him, and the people he has sworn to protect.
Besides, often times, an order obeyed saves lives. "Advance, covering fire," are given by men with the bigger picture in front of them
