Come on, the new ipod shuffle is smaller and easier to take with you, if you want a great sound, of course this is not easy to change because of these new kind of earphones, but just go buy a nano or a classic if you dislike it.

i think this was a really bad idea in my opinion... i mean it is only controllable with the crappy apple headphones and that will probably confuse a lot of people. there was NOTHING wrong with the old shuffle!

umm actually its awesome.. i just got one yesterday and now when i listen to music on my iphone i reach up and press the wire of the headphones, thinking its got buttons like the shuffle!! so.. stfu

3rd or 4th gen, whatever. It sucks that you're forced to use the bundled white tinny crappy earbuds, and cant use your own decent sounding Etymotics, Sony, Bose, etc. earbuds or headphones.

This is one iPod I will certainly be giving a miss.

Yeah, it is the 3rd generation. People think that just because they changed the colors on the 2nd generation, they think it magically becomes the 3rd generation. Well, they're wrong. They just refreshed the colors for the 2nd generation, THAT'S IT. Nothing else changed. This shuffle that this guy is talking about is the 3rd generation, not the 4th, go check the Apple website if you like, but, this one IS TRULY the 3rd generation.

im taking a guess, but i think one of the reasons they can have a bigger hard drive is because it does not have any buttons. the buttons take up space for a hard drive

About the iPod Shuffle not having buttons, I find controlling my iPhone with the headset a lot easier than controlling it on my iPhone. So controlling the shuffle with the headset will be easier. Plus other companies can make a headset just for the new iPod Shuffle.

i like the shuffle-nice design. i'm positive that apple will release an adapter so you can use your own headphones.

why would they make an adapter it means less money, cause if your headphones break it means you HAVE to go back to apple and buy the apple headphones. if they made and adapter sure peopke will buy it but they only need to buy one but usually people go through more than one headphones. so more money for apple. but i bet some third party company will make an adapter

1st gen was the long one, 1gb

2nd and 2rd were the same thing except different colors came out
