People, the point isn't to analyze what happened! Tolkein was a far better writer than that! The Balrog is of shadow and fire, which Gandalf is to fight against. It isn't a matter of who had the high ground or better DPS. The point is that Gandalf stayed true to his duty of facing evil, even if he had to sacrifice himself.
