what rifle do you learn to fire with?? The sa80 L85A1 or A2??

@elliotnickells2010 Depends where you do your training. I was Badged Grenadier Guards at Infantry Training Centre Catterick and we had A2s with SUSAT fitted and later in the course you got the combined foregrip/bipod that slots on the picatinny rail. If you go Infantry you also train on the LMG during phase 2. I've got several mates who went to Bassingbourne with RE and others who went RLC at Pirbright. They had A1s with no optics-just iron sights.

bloody hell 2002 i did my phase 1 there , august til dec 2002 best months of my life im 25 now but ill always remember that autaum back in bassingbourne as a young 16 year old , marlborough company minden platton thats how we rolled lol , name rank and number as your choking out on the cs tablet fumes whilst running round trying to get a sweat on , then the mile and half round the airfield , dont stop keep moving lol , ahh wikid times when i think back now , fus craven (aka shrek ) lol
