*some sort of curtain or accordian style treatment around it.* ahh!! I dont seem to type very well when im excited, i've just been following leo's, ted's, and chia's work for soo long that I want it commercialized!!! where are the videos of the counteractive projects!??! people must see them.
let see two glasses thrown in at once! lol. and who washes greens that many times? it needs work...Id still use it though in its current state...it just needs to look a little better...like violet backlighting under the silicon that makes the sink glow as you approch or something. and maybe some sort of curtain or accordian stle treament around it.
Height adjustments are great, but could you have a manual option just in case there is a particular height you prefer that the machine doesn't provide for you?
Same with temperature adjustment - an additional manual control.
Softer sink is great idea to keep dishes from breaking and I hope it can withstand pointy objects like knives and cat claws.
this is just a waste of time and energy... how much electronics and actuation has gone into making something that will break long before a normal sink and doesn't fill any need? my washing up experience isn't going to be worth however much that costs for the bowl to be 2" closer to a preset height
When I saw this I thought another great application for this technology is at the ATM. Because sometimes I see people in wheel chairs or really short people have trouble reaching up to the key pad and also seeing the screen because of glare from their angle. It would be good to just mount a LCD touch screen on this device, it will make their lifes easier.
so why does it move up and down? to adjust to your height level? that is true genious. there are so many possibilities popping up these days that no one can even imagine until a true inventor comes up with something like the smartsink (or the dishmaker! that was pretty cool too...)
I'm really interested in the logic that dictates what temperature the sink selects. I'm guessing the pot was warm when placed in the sink so that the temperature of the water atempts to match the item in it.
There are a couple of sink uses that I would be cureous how are handled. Is there a white paper?
Great idea, I love it. Perfectly minimizes wasted structural resources while at the same time increasing functionality. This is the sort of idea that will end up on stations at the moon and beyond.
it looks kinda ugly no offence...
