Thats how it used to be - rockets oneshot air vehicles but you dont had any lockon features - besides the tracer dart that also needed to be placed.

Fuck BF3 with their stupid stingers and heatseekers - totally destroyed airwarfare for me. Was way more fun to dodge at4's then pressing the flare button as soon as it was ready.

@TheHammEEEr So a jet moves at what, about 1300mph depending on what jet it is...an RPG moves at about 657mph...then there is going to be a "drop off" effect on the rocket and wind to take into account...not to mention the jet can fuck off thousands of feet...Somehow I don't think RPGs alone are going to cut the mustard, moron!!!

What about the point that Infantry units survive multiple hits out of the machineguns fired by the jet? Or that a chopper can take more then 1 rocket hit, no matter where it hits? @TheHammEEEr You must have terrible luck if you get shot down by infantry. Beeps mean you are being locked on, a solid beep means you have been locked on, rapid beeps means a rocket or missile is on it's way to you. Simple as that. I like how BF3 turned out to combat aircraft.

It seems now though when the teams are fair, you can barely last 2mins in a helicopter without being SOFLAM'd and targetted by a million different tracking devices at once.
