  • A very nice footage. But the sound level is too low.

  • Is this Trondheim? If so, the attacks may be the costly and unsuccessful RAF/FAA raids on 11 and 13 June, on the force that sank HMS Glorious on 8 June. That looks like the undamaged Gneisenau at 1:15.The torpedoed Scharnhorst is presumably nearby. We can probably see enough of Gneisenau's bow to say the film is before 20 June when a torpedo from the submarine HMS Clyde blew a large hole through it, nearly breaking it off. (photo etc in Garzke and Dulin:"Battleships: Axis...",1986).

  • Interesting. I clicked on this because "Wir fahren gegen England" was/is the marching song of my former (British) para unit. we always finished teh song with three rousing Sieg Heils!" ( They still do, nd to hell with political correctness) When I wa sat a re-union last year, there was a serving French Foriegn Legion officer who had been an exchange officer with the British Para regt who sang and "sieg heil -ed" as loud as anyone! We sing a slightly different translation. Thanks for posting

  • Lovely

  • boah what for a grappy propaganda speech...I translate: England stands alone, England has no more allies....Jesus and some folks in Germany even believed such stupid talkings

  • I think somebody needs to study their history a little better... At the time this film was made (the invasion of Norway) England was truly alone (the US had not entered the war)... and they came within a hairs breadth of losing to Germany!

If you don't like the Germans, that's OK... but do yourself a favor and don't make stupid historically incorrect statements.

    Langes lebendes Deutschland!

  • cool video, i am especially interested in torpedo boat informatio. My German Grandfather was on the wolf. It sank from a mine in jan 1941

  • I had no idea material like this was available online. As a Norwegian interested in (and teaching) history, I must say this is pretty awesome!
