Erik Schrody (Everlast) wrote the song after a near fatal heart attack. In hospital he reflects on his alcohol and nicotine addiction (the monster under his bed)and believes this has caused his heart attack. A beautiful muslim nurse looks after him (the angel) and tells him he has nothing to fear because Allah is looking down on him. She says "la ilaha il allah" (the lyrics at the end of the song), losely translated means "There is no god but Allah" Everlast is so moved he converts to Islam.

thank you I agree! My children's Father is Jewish and I adore all of my Jewish Family and friends up here. I am Southern Baptist! LOL....we just say com on in....it is a HUGE deal to "convert" to Judaisim and Muslims are a very closed society. Although Jordan had Queen Noor! In my opinion, there is no such thing as religion. They are the result of misleading interpretations of the holy books in order to divide people into groups for obtaining political power. In fact, all holy books aim to connect everyone.They aim not to divide but to unite under the notion of being a good person. I believe in all the prophets and the books, but I don't believe in the way people try to put boundaries between each other while they are all carrying the same intentions.
