  • American here who's spent half her life in the UK. For me, Demi was not that bad. You know who is overrated? Gwyn Paltrow. Her posh accent is alright. But she was bit off in Sliding Doors, IMO. Renee of Bridget Jones was a bit off too but she was considerably better, especially when she put the r in some of her words like law. Also the guy who was Wormtongue in LOTR, dude is TEXAN. I thought he did a good job. Bad American accents? Robert Pattinson and Orlando Bloom Eizabethtown=fail!

  • One of the better accents iv'e heard from American actors. The best Brit accent I have ever heard was by David Anders who played Adam Monroe/Takezo Kensei in Heroes. As a Brit myself I can say I was totally fooled into thinking the guy was a English. Some of the worst are Al Pacino and Don Cheadle. On the other hand we also have some British actors who cant do american accents to save their lives like Jason Statham and Tim Roth. Then again we have the brilliant Hugh Laurie.

  • Lol fail

  • she has an accent? o.O

  • I couldn't even finish the clip. Accent? What accent?

  • Actually this isn't that bad.

  • Is there such a thing as a British accent? Which one is it? Cockney? RP? Scottish? Georgie? I guess there are so many she could be somewhere in between a bunch of them.

  • @jmsilvsubtitles Whoever taught you to speak as a child is probably the accent you're gonna get, no matter where in the world.

  • Thats really terrible.... ;/

  • it's inconsistent, but as many have stated, certainly not the worst.

  • accent... i dont her an accent

  • I've heard worse.

  • Good god she is speaking with an American accent....this really is horrible.

  • lmao!!!! Wth is that?

  • I'm English (lot of comments starting with that), this was pretty good tbh, she faulters at some points in the rest of the movie, but whatever, it's a toughy.

  • Sounds like an American with a smoke-roughened voice speaking in a whisper. There is no English accent.

  • her british accent in the scarlet letter was also terrible.

  • her british accent is still better than angelina jolie's

  • Hey boneheads in the movie they state she is an American, from America (get it), and that she was schooled at Oxford and has lived in London for 15 years, likely to give someone slight accent, but still have good teeth. So watch the movie rather than make a judgement on 86 seconds of it. Try that same type of critical thinking in other aspects of your life!

  • @cliffordlangleyduder The english have better teeth than americans, dentist reports have proven it. A bit unfair, since you get the fat jokes all the time, and reports show it is true...

  • Im english, that wasnt too bad

  • She never could act, I don't know why she's still here.

  • it sounds like she's barely even trying.

  • When are we gonna see a video of crappy American accents? Brits - we love you, but you're just as bad at American accents as we are at British ones! Especially with the letter "r" - Brits just can't do a convincing American "r."

  • @revelwoodie They appear to be better though.

  • why when actors do english accents it's always in an RP accent :/ not everyone in england speaks like the queen.

  • thanks for telling me she's supposed to be British . .

    i also would have accepted:

    eh-llo Govna'

  • I'm British, and It's not actually terrible. Sure, it's not that convincing and she'd probably have to work on it, but it wasn't really bad.

  • Non that bad, but not really authentic enough (and I'm not even British and all and I noticed).

  • Ugh She needs to understand that British is non-rhotic. She uses a hard "r" in "work," for instance, but over there they never pronounce the "r." Just following this rule would make her accent way better.

  • Yeah, there's traces of an American accent in parts. But I'm British and this is by no means a bad British accent.

  • I'm not a britt but it still sounds very unconvincing.

I can hear American in it.

Good your man Michael Caine does't open his mouth in this short bit, cos it would make her sound even worse.

Add her crappy acting on top of that and it makes shite of it altogether.

  • Worst english cockney accent of all time is Rachel Weisz, but I can't remember the movie.. Help?

  • @reflex0r You mean the Rachel Weisz that was born in London?

  • @vladbedazzled I know that Rachel Weisz is english, but she has a very posch accent. She is obviously putting on a show in the movie 'Fred Claus'. I take it that you know that there are variations of the way they speak over there, usually depending on what school you attended (i.e. public or private). She is putting on a show w/ the accent, check it out if you want a laugh.

  • @reflex0r ok... will take a look... though I will say from the start I really like Rachel Weisz.

  • lol just sounds american to me

  • Demi Moore-next to Julia Roberts possibly the worst actress ever.

  • It almost sounds like an Australian accent, if they're speaking properly.

  • As a Brit, I didn't think it was that bad at all. Heard a lot worse. Yes, Don Cheadle I'm looking at you!

  • @JackCalico

    I agree

I think she proved her accent abilities way back in The Scarlet Letter. Sounds very authentic to me otherwise she wouldnt have gotten the part right?

  • @caliking100 In America you "get the part" based on your market demographics, not talent.

  • Was it supposed to be English? People who can't do accents, shouldn't -in movies.

  • GOOD LORD, the woman could never act!

  • @TheSuppActress I AGREE!!

  • @TheSuppActress yeah but shes seriously hot, that beats all!

  • Pushed too close to Cockney in places :-S
